Hello guys,
Currently I have an HP Ipag h6315 running Windows Mobile 2003. I have setup 2 emails account on my PDA ( Gmail & Bellsouth ).
I set both accounts to connect and retreive new messages every 2 minutes; however, only the account "checked" under ACCOUNTS will be the one that connects and retreive the email messages.
Shouldn't both accounts connect every 2 minutes and get new messages?
for example:
- If i go to inbox, it'll default to the inbox of whatever account i have checked under "accounts". if i check bellsouth, i'm able to see my messages from my bellsouth email address; however, after i close it and go back to the today screen, then only "Bellsouth" will connect and get new emails every 2 minutes.
- If i want Gmail to be the one to connect the every 2 minutes then i would have to go to inbox and check Gmail in order to gmail to be the one to connect every 2 minutes.
I dont know if that's the way its supposed to be, since i have set the option to connect every 2 minutes on both accts.
If anyone knows of this issue and happens to have a solution for it, i really appreciate it. Or perhaps is just a non-fixed bug.

Unfortunately I think it's a bug in the Universal. I've been dealing with this problem since I got my Universal several months ago. Originally I thought it was a Windows Mobile 2005 problem, but I've had confirmation from several Wizard users (which is also WM2005) that their devices will check multiple accounts automatically.
For the time being I've gotten used to making sure my universal is always on my most important account and simply switching to my other account and manually checking it periodically. I'm hoping that this will be fixed in the next ROM upgrade.

Same problem for me in my Qtek 9000. Only the "active" account cheks mail automatically, no the others accounts. I´m asking for the solution in several forums but no possible. I think is a problem on WM5.
Actually it might be a problem with both WM3 (what i'm using) and WM5 (what you guys are using) kind of sucks to be having to switch in between accts in order get your new messages... if that's the case, that's a quality that the blackberrys will always outperformed the Windows mobile devices.
I'm sorry Will, I misread your first message. I believe it's a known issue in WM2003... it was supposed to be fixed in Wm2005, but there are still problems with the universal, at least.

I have the same issue.
Its a Pocket Outlook issue, as when I bought and switched to WebIS Mail, there wasnt an issue anymore. Works like a dream, no issues w/ it EVER and wil try to use wifi instead of gprs if you are on a wireless network, giving you a good speed burst w/ the universal...
Still on Pocket Outlook...is it possible to have a 'replay to' address specified for an e-mail account?
I can see that webIS Mail has the opiton but couldn't find it on Outlook.

Ok so I have a Cingular 8125 running AKU 2.3 ROM and everythnig is great except one annoying thing.
I have Gmail POP3 setup in my Outlook Mobile with the settings so that it downloads 999kb of the message (this is because if I have it download the whole message, it clears my inbox every now and then).
So anyway, I have it set to check every 30 mins and it works great for about a week. Almost like clockwork every week or so the thing will download ALL messages in my GMail inbox as if they were new! I don't know why it does this...I select all and mark as read and it'll be fine for aorund another week.
Anybody know what the problem is and how I can solve this?????

I can sync contacts and calendar, but no emails, if I check the email, then i got that error.

I've reset the phone, input the settings multiple times (I'm sure they're correct), checked that my carriers default internet access isn't set via proxy, turned off/on POP on my Gmail settings....
A couple of pointers to look out for:
-You want to make sure you're only trying to sync Calendar, Contacts & Email. DON'T try and sync Tasks or Texts cos they don't work (yet hopefully).
-Make sure the username you're using is <myname>@gmail.com not @googlemail.com like the tutorial used to say.
-If it stops syncing after a few weeks of use. Sometimes you just have to do a manual sync by going into connection manager and hitting the Sync button and sometimes the only way to solve it seems to be just delete the whole Exchange profile for googlesync and set it up again from scratch.
Hope one of these is going to solve your problem cos I'm all out of ideas. Works fine on my WinMo6.5 device.
Yup, I was aware of both the @gmail and restriction to Cal/Contacts/Email, neither of those are my problem.
Mine is syncing using @googlemail.com but it does not work when doing send/receive for my folders which is annoying as I don't want to keep on syncing hundred's of folders each time I get a new mail.
also youc ant have a "/" in any of your gmail labels (which are often autmoatically created when you imap your gmail on your desktop i.e. Inbox/ebay Inbox/work etc

I have the same problem and the same error code.
Tried to sync my phone for the first time yesterday and spent the better part of the night troubleshooting why I was getting the 0x8600050c error code... Tried all the possible fixes including making sure Tasks are deselected, Syncing only Contacts & Calendar, no '/'s in labels etc....
However, now I realise that after browsing the google help forums that a lot of people seem to be having this problem in the last 24-32 hours. Quite a few recent messages have been posted on this.
It seems like Google Sync push has been erratic ever since it was released. They fixed the problems in the middle, but it seems that they are back now. You would hope that a firm with the resources like Google would atleast put a status page updating users of outages...
If someone figures out a solution to this problem please post...!

I'm sorry (I'm not rubbing it in honest ) but my GMail has been working perfectly for the last couple of weeks. So maybe it's just newly set up accounts?
For those that have gmail working via activesync, how quick is it? when a message arrives on your desktop how much later does it take to arrive on your phone. I am seeing some delayed responses and having moved from Blackberry back to WM its not good.
I have it running over HSDPA (3G) with exchange server and it arrives on my phone before it gets to my desktop pc.

I know its been done and said, but would you mind doing a checklist on what settings you have got working for you?
On Gmail do you have POP3 enabled and IMAP enable or one on and the other off.
i've been having the same issue - calendar and contacts fine, but i can't sync mail.
i know it isn't the settings / labels issues mentioned here as I have it syncing fine on my kaiser...
Hmm. OK think we got crossed wires there. I thougth we were talking about GMail syncing in general. I was talking about my Tinity. Now I have the HD2 setup, it's not working for mail ether.
Same as everyone else, I have contacts and calendar working but no mail. It will get the mail if I set it up as a normal mail account but not with the syncing push type exchange account I can't see any errors, it's just not getting the mail
The thing is I get my mail, but just slow. I am not syncing contacts or anything else.

Found a hash in one of my labels, deleted it resynced and it seems things are moving ok. Let see how it goes

hmmm. no hashes in any labels (i never imported / synced) from outlook. but still no joy...
same problem on my td2.
syncing of calendar and contacts works fine. but no mail.
funny thing is when i set it up the last weekend it all worked perfectly for about two days and suddenly error 0x8600050c.
i played arond a lot with googleapps after the setup and i thought this might be the reason it s not working any more.
so here is a list of things i tried to get it working again, well, still without success:
- looked for hashes in my labels (never had any though)
- deleted all labels
- change language from german to english and back
- deleted the tasks from my tasklist in gmail/calendar
- changed my password to alphabetical characters only
- registered a new gmail account without any changes
- changed the mail folder of gmail in wdmc that should be synced
some things that surely wouldnt help since it seems to be a google issue but i was desperate
- reinstalled wmdc
- flashed different roms
but damn it s still not working again. *sigh* gotta switch to windows-live if they dont get this fixed.
Hmm I think the problem with the gmail sync makes the rom of the hd2 itself because I also have a Touch Pro 2 and a Toshiba TG01 and on both of them its working fine so I try to import the active sync files and if it will work after that I´ll tell you!

I am having this really weird issue with my email (which is Yahoo mail). I would initially set up my email as usual, i.e. by entering username and password and let it do it's thing.
I had setup my email settings as "download messages for the past 3 days" but for some reason after leaving the phone in sleep mode for several hours (i.e. overnight, while charging or unattended at work), it will then start downloading everything in my inbox under yahoo mail which is around 3,5xx emails without me knowing! and then the phone will start to become very very sloooow... having manila running 90-95% at all times, (my observation) apparently windows mobile email is trying to sync everything from the inbox (after finish downloading) to HTC sense which is causing a Big Slowdown! which is i think the reason why manila runs at 90-95%.
this has been an issue for me since i bought the phone, so i always end up deleting the account on the phone so it'll stop the sync to HTC sense and stop manila from running 90-95%.
It is very annoying and i was wondering if there is anybody over here has experienced the problem and solved it?
i have also tried upgrading my rom to the current european 1.6x but no luck and still acting the same. I just don't want to stop using the email that i've been using for the last 9 years just because of this.
I will greatly appreciate any help.

How did you add your account in the first place? You should just enter your email address and let the HD2 setup automatically.
I guess you setup pop3 instead?
I'm facing the same issue. I went to HD2 email setup, entered the email address, password and used the default yahoo settings which HD2 suggested.
For the first 2 days I kept getting all new emails. However on the 3rd day overnight it downloaded the whole yahoo mailbox with over 2500 emails. Had to delete the account and add it back a couple of times, but the issue keeps recurring.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here. Is there any setting I need to change to prevent this from happening?

Don't know what settings you are using for Yahoo but if you want to restrict how many emails get downloaded to your device then do the following:
On the device go to Inbox>Menu>Tools>Options>Email Account (whatever you have called it). Tap on that and then tap on Send/Receive schedule.
Form here you can set the frequency of updates and how many days worth of emails you want downloaded onto the device.

This issue also exists on my Raphael. Started a few months ago for some reason.
No matter what you set your retention limit to (3 days, 7, etc) it always tries to pull everything and bogs the phone done like crazy. Last time I wiped it, it was set to 7 days and it had email dating back to Jun 09.
Any idea on a resolution? as it seems to be affecting various devices.
up to now, i am still experiencing this problem.
i have tried everything.. i.e. hard reset, flashing to duttys holy grail v.05 rom and after setting up everything, it will still the same issue.
this issue only applies to yahoo mail.. i never had issues with gmail.
i wonder if it's because i am not using mail plus which requires a monthly fee and benefit you to use outlook using forwarding.
i never had this issue wih the iphone, although if you search yahoo, they specifically support iphone and blackberry only and regular mobile phones.
i have this problem too. i think its has something to do with Yahoo POP settings rather than our device. Gmail has a much more advanced mail settings than Yahoo. The gmail (IMAP) which is free is much better than yahoo plus (POP).
delete the accoun and wehn setting up again choose advanced settings you will find what limits this things

Hello, I have this problem in my Touch Pro 2. Haven't found a solution yet but I think the problem is at yahoo mail b/c i have used other imap and pop emails w/o having this behaviour.
It's probably some maintenance yahoo does to their servers that changes each mail datetime and thus, the WM mail client bring all inbox items and the phone gets freezed.
If someone find a solution for this issue please let me know.

I am seeing this for my Yahoo mail on my Imagio also. It doesn't matter what the settings are, every few days, my entire inbox starts downloading (10000+ messages) causing the phone to hang & requires a hard reset.
Has anyone found a fix?
crude workaround
weird, this has started to happen to me on my tp2 in the last couple of weeks, maybe yahoo is doing something to different servers on a rolling basis.
Until it's fixed I've set up a folder within yahoo via my pc where I've dumped all emails over a couple of weeks old. I haven't synced my phone with that folder so myinbox is limited to a couple of hundred mails at the most. Once the issue resolves itself I'll put them back.

Also disappeared the WPA password of my access-point...

Same here! I got a weird issue today morning after rebooting: my Exchange, all SMS and Gmail' account got totally empty. Actually the Gmail' account disappeared completely, while the Exchange' settings are still here but no email! I run Topix 1.5.6 (21865) since about 6 weeks without any issue, not installed any unusual app. All other settings are still here in the device (RSS, weather, etc.)
Fisrt time I ever come across an issue like this one since almost 8 years I use HTCs.

If you lose your email accounts and wifi passwords, it is likely you have installed Swype 3.9. There are two CABs for 3.9 out there, one of them will destroy your phone identity. There is no cure.

dont know about others, but my wifi pw is fine, and I never heard ow Swype.
+ all of my sms are gone too.
i could fix the MS Exxhange issue by simply deselect the email' sync in activesync, and then reselect it.
Did you use the item "Reset" in your device ?
I tought that it does only a soft reset but this one has killed all my settings too.
I will never use it again right now.
I had the same problem in the past after flashing radio 2.08.50.05.
Gmail account and Wi-Fi passwords were deleted.
Also Live Messenger and MyPhone were reset and the date was set at...1980

I indeed do use the "reset" button regularly since months and I never encountered an issue before.
same happened 2 me. Wpa Password suddenly gone and all email accounts. good that i had a sprite backup. No swype or any other software installed. I have latest htc wwe rom.

well this sux i downloaded swype last night via this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6322818#post6322818 it did not work but it did lose me all my wifi p/w and all my email accounts as well as my mobile internet. i am slowly getting it back. So what is the deal with swype then?
I have had this happen a few times. And it was not always swype. Pulling the battery also did it for me. And so did installing co0kies Home Tab. One time I lost network settings. I just had to hit edit network connection and then save it. All times router security code and emails lose their settings. I have found an easy way to restore my emails next time this happens. I found a free app called Mail Account Repair.
I save the exe file on my storage card in a folder called email repair. Run the file and it sees your email accounts. For each account just fill in the settings and hit repair. Now your email accounts are saved. If they disappear again then just run that exe file and hit repair.

I had this issue twice: first time when i installed swype, second time when i installed bsb tweaks
i had a similiar issue 2 times until now. my email acc disappeared, but it was not deleted, just some kind of hidden. name, servers and pw was deleted but everything else was still there, including the emails; but nothing was visible. somehow i managed to make the account visible again, by playing around with the settings.

for gmail, settings are:
[Server Tab]
In Server (pop): pop.gmail.com
Out Server (smtp): smtp.gmail.com
Password: [[Your Password Goes Here]]
[Stmp auth Tab]
Username: [[Full e-mail address @gmail.com .. ex: [email protected]]]
Password: [[Your Password Goes Here]]
Domain: [[Leave Blank]]
Repaired my e-mail accounts and put them back on the homescreen correctly. Original cause was installing Swype. Thanks again!

Thanks man. I pulled the battery 2 days ago. This has to be the cause since I didn't install Swype.
