I have a Dutch T-Mobile MDA-Vario, and I use IMAP-email-accounts on it.
Even though I have checked the box for "store sent mail in sent-mail folder", it does not store it anywhere.
It does work for SMS though, but not for email.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
Anyone?
Don't know,
Works perfectly on my i-mate with Qtek Rom (-:
Maybe it's another T-Mobile ROM bug........
How about now?
Does anyone have any idea why sent mail is not stored in the sent-mail-folder?
I just now checked... When I send a message, the message appears in the sent-mail-folder for a second or two, before it vanishes into thin air...
Nobody?
Sjaakman,
I had the same problem (using IMAP4)...
To solve it, I marked the 'sent items' folder to be sync'ed with my outlook server. You can do it through the "manage folders" option.
From that point, all emails (from the PDA and from your normal desktop outlook) will be shown at the sent items folder.

Thanks for the tip, but I already have that folder on the MDA Vario marked for synchronization.
And I can also see the sent-mail folder of the PC on my MDA Vario without any problems. Mail in that folder gets sync'ed without any problems.
The actual problem is that mail sent via the MDA Vario kind of "refuses" to get stored anywhere...
Check whether the sent folder on your imap server is ccalled the same then on your wizard, ie. on both locations "Sent Items".
I had the same problem - took me a while to get mine working. It isn't enough to tick the "Keep copy in sent items" - that does keep a copy but on the main imap server (of my isp) not on your pda. The trick (at least in my case) was the syc settings on my pda - found it was only syncing the "inbox" so had to click on "menu", "tools", "Manage Folders" and then could select folders for syncing so I added "Sent items" and bobs your uncle - works a treat.
Hope it works for you
Cheers
Barney
Edit: ps my sig is wrong - need to get it changed - now I have Voda v1605(HTC Tytn/HErmes)

I have just signed up to mail2wb push service and have so far got my contacts sync and emails are working, Push is great but my emails are not saving on my device, when I check mail2web exchange online they are their.
Is this how mail2web setup works or can the emails be saved to device too?
My emails are stored on the device using mail2web, your must have something wrong in your setup I guess...
Inside mail2web control panel go to "Free Services" --> "Mail2Web Live" --> "ActiveSync Settings" and you can download a CAB file with your default configuration there.
I had the sms send me the link I will try again a report back.
nope still not working downloaded the cab to my pc and copied across and installed, I send a email from device it goes to the outbox and then dispears. But it is there in my sent folder on the web.
I thought you were talking about incoming emails... sorry!
For outgoing emails, you just have to "Menu" --> "Tools" --> "Manage Folders" and Check "Sent Items" because it is not Syncronized by default, that's it
ah thanks I knew it had to be a setting thanks pof.
I feel a bit stupid here but how do I set up my vario to access mail2web exchange?
I've signed up and all seems to be ok, downloaded the CAB config file but nothing seems to have happened when I ran it!
Help?!?!?
Now when you hit the comm manager button, the email icon should not be greyed out anymore (because the cab should setup push email settings for you). Just enable directpush email with the email icon and you should start receiving emails.

It's on your PocketPC!! Open pocket outlook, then menu -> etc...
I've had my X1a for a few months now and is synced with my work's Microsoft Outlook Exchange server. I can send and receive e-mails fine and everything seems to work except after I send an e-mail from my phone, the message doesn't go to the Sent Items folder.
However, in my MS Outlook program on my laptop which I use for syncing (with WMDC) and is also set up with my e-mails through the Exchange server, I can see my sent e-mails in the Sent Items folder even when I send e-mails from my X1a. So I know there is nothing wrong with the Exchange server and it is a problem with the phone.
On my X1a, when I go into my Outlook E-mail options, I have the "Keep copies of sent items in Sent folder" checkmarked but nothing shows up in the Sent Items folder after I send an e-mail.
Any one know a solution to this?
you need to set up your sync folder settings. by default wm will only sync your inbox and none of your other folders. iirc it should be under tools -> folders and check the sent items folder to be sync'd as well. i don't have the phone in front of me right now, so this is from memory. play around with the settings and you'll see it.
Yes that's the way...
Inbox > Menu (right soft key) Tools > Manage folders> Check sent items.
Then just sync again.
omg you guys made my day! thank you!!!!!
i can't believe it was something so simple..
mods, please close
Hi,
The HD2 is my first HTC-phone, i like it so far, but i'm searching for a way to sync more folders than just my inbox using Exchange/Outlook-mail.
On my old phone (WM 6.1) i could go to folder-options (or something like that, i'm using the dutch version) and was able to select and deselect more folders.
I cannot find it on this phone, is this a WM 6.5 or a HTC-sense issue ?
(or maybe my own )
Regards,
Martin.
Just got mine on O2 - cant find the option either!
Did you have any joy??
go into your outlook inbox..select tools, then manage folders, then you can check all the folders you want sync'd
I've selected the folders I wanted to Sync on both my GMAIL and Google Apps account but it only downloads messages from Inbox. How do you get it to sync your sent mail and other folders?
Has anyone got extra folders syncd?
I am syncing a lot of folders in Outlook with our Exchange Server. As twisted-pixel wrote then you need to open Outlook E-mail and select Menu, then select Functions and then Manage Folders. The options Functions cannot be seen on the screen and you need to scrool down to it (It took me some time to find it )
In the Manage Folders screen you are able to select the folders you want to synchronize.
So I've been having a few issue with gmail and it not syncing with the sent mail folder. There's been a few posts on here, but I thought I'd start a new one for a 'new' solution for those that may still be having issues. I solved it mostly through help from wacky.banana (many thanks) and a bit of good fortune.
Anyway I was following advice on here that once I'd set up my googlemail account on my HD2 only inbox was synced as default, so you need to go into menu from the inbox folder>tools>manage folders and tick the box for sent mail. What I've just noticed is that when you click manage folders and it takes you to the screen with the different folders with the check boxes, it says "sent items" rather than "sent mail". I've been ticking this assuming it was my "sent mail" folder, and so only been getting mail sent using the HD2, and not been able to access older sent mail, nor does it sync with sent mail from my PC.
What I accidently found this morning was that in the manage folders page, if you expand google mail by pressing the box with + in it you will now get a folder saying "sent mail". Tick this box and everything works ok. To some of you on here this might seem totally obvious, but to those of us new to winmo it's not, and I though some of you might have been doing the same as me
My only gripe with it now is that when you go to the sent mail folder you can't catagorise it by recipient, so everthing comes up with my name/email address. Does anyone know if there's some way you can get it to sort via recipient name?
I have created several folders in my Outlook 2007 pc in order to keep my e-mail organized. Appart from the default folders I have a "pending items" folder, a "client A" folder, "company B" folder, etc. These folders show up in my phone's outlook, but their contents don't. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks.
In the Activesync window which pops up on your PC when there's a syncronisation taking place, click on 'email', then the 'select folders' button, and then select the folders and subfolders you want to syncronise. Then click 'okay' and go on to complete the options (eg download all, last week/month/day et), and click okay. It should save your settings, and then sync the device. Works for me, and I have all the mail appearing in the folders as selected.
It worked! Thank you so much!
Sounds great... Always wanted this solved...
However I have never/don't want to use Activesync software on my PC. Everthing I do is over the air (e.g. flash a ROM, set-up the email account settings, and go). I can't find a similar option on the HD2 app - any suggestions?
Thanks!

Goto the inbox of the e-mail account in the e-mail tab, providing your settings are for IMAP or Exchange then you can go to options and select which folders you want to sync. If however you are just using POP/SMTP then it only reads from the email provider's inbox.
