Guys I need some help. My Dopod 818 pro died today. I don't know what happened. It wont start or soft reset or even hard reset. Only thing is it keeps blinking, the screen, the power and bluetooth led. anyone can help me here? Thank you.
Bootloader mode
Some update, I'm able to access the bootloader mode while my set is plugged to the mains. Is there anyway I can flash my rom using sd card?

more details would b helpful. For example, were u flashing the ROM? Or did it just die suddenly on its own?
Try taking the batt out over night.... or perhaps you didn't do your hard reset properly. You're supposed to press the camera & comm manager button and hold them while you poke the reset hole...
Try taking out your SIM card and hard reset.... if all fails, you probably have fried board.
If you are able to access bootloader mode, then you should be able to flash the ROM using a ROM provided by Dopod.
Mains only
Yup my friend tried to flash the rom for me and he messed it up. he flashed the wrong rom. i can't reflash tru usb because i only can get to bootloader when connected to the mains.

The problem is that i can't turn it on. only on mains
If it died while flashing, then as DILS said, you should be able to reflash it again and again....

Hi,
after the download new ROM my MDA was fired!!
First I download a customized ITA rom and after, because the MDA work very slow, I downloaded the latest T-mobile ROM.
Now the MDA do not power up and do not charge the battery.....sems dead.
Can I recover it?
just an idea but I would start by trying to charge it with the wall plug that came with it, not a computer usb cable - if the battery is all the way dead it will not charge from the computer. If the light comes on, let it charge for a while and then try it out. If not I would try to hard reset while it is plugged in. If none of this works, enter bootloader mode and then connect it to the computer, and hopefully it will go into bootloader mode and you can flash a new rom.. If you need more details on how to do any of this, let me know, and please let me know if it works!

I have recharge the battery and dowloaded the original Tmob rom.
Now is strange..
Same time power up...and same time no.
The ipl is 1.06 and spl is 1.03!!
My Qtek 9100 is dead also. I have the 2.24 ROM and it has been running great. I cant power it on and the light doesnt turn on when its plugged in. The battery is definitely not dead. Suggestions? TIA

I have flash the rom 1.6 Tmob (IPL 1.06 SPL 1.03) but the MDA restart in loop mode!!
My phone powered up today. It's been sitting on my night stand for a week and it turned on today! Everyday I have tried to turn it on but I haven't had any luck until today...weird!
All started with trying to upgrade(rewrite) the GSM part because the Hermes had problems with phone part - when trying to call - the phone stop responding, bus the pda part sill worked.
So - I tried and tried and tried again, reading many threads about HARD SPL,Flashing radio, etc. Nothing worked..
In the end "i managed" to kill GSM - phone had "No Gsm" on boot-up.
From there i tried to downgrade SPL to 1.04 so that i try to "raw" rewrite the GSM part.
But something went terribly wrong, and while downgrading SPL, the phone suddently shutdown and never opened again.
Now i have the folowing situation: NO BOOTLOADER, no usb conectivity, nothing
This means that i cannot connect via USB whatever i try.
Is there any hope for me? or is it TOTALLY BRICKED?
Any help is apreciated!! I can even dismantle the mobile if there is any way to flash it via some kind of jtag connection...anything ...
The folks at www.imei-check.com can do the JTAG flashing. Just email them. It would be costly for you to do it yourself...
Are you saying that the phone won't turn on at all or that it does but you can't get a bootloader screen?
Have you tried taking the battery out for a while? Have you tried flashing an OEM rom and radio compatible with your device off an SD card?
All of this info is in the wiki, as are OEM roms you can flash.
Let us know how you get on.

Try this:
1.) Remove battery
2.) Connect Hermes to charger or USB
3.) Insert the battery while Hermes is connected to charger
4.) Red light should turn Amber
5.) Soft Reset
@wacky.banana: The phone is totaly dead: no bootloader, doesn't boot at all, doesn't seem to have any USB conectivity at all. Flashing from micro sd doesn't work : probably because the bootloader isn't working.

@markafreeman: I tried, but when i put the battery in, the red light goes off, not to amber . no soft or hard reset helps. not even leaving the battery out for 2 weeks - i had tried that too . thanks anyway.
Anything else I can try? - phone totaly dead, no bootloder, no usb conectivity - cannot use mtty, cannot flash from microsd
I had to get a replacement device at that point when it happened to me.
Maybe someone else know a way to get it working.

and it crashed an ****ed up
they'll replace it
well they will send it to HTC
who just replace the handset rather than repair it

Like you ive started with the hardsppl flash thing to prevent bricking it and prior to sd flashing... and im not sure if its workin...

I upgraded my uni with ranju rom 2months ago and worked perfect.Yesterday after a call the uni froze when i restarted, the uni black out. have tried both hard and soft reset. Nothing happens in soft reset, but hard gives U " Press 0 to restore to factory default and X to exit". but if i press 0, the uni goes off again.,
Battery? Can you enter a bootloader and re-flash the ROM?

my cousin gave me his qtek 9000 saying that it was dead. being a dumbass, me decided to try and give it back life. as mentioned before, me a dumbass. After seaching the web for hours, i would normally be now saying, i give up. but no.
so , please. help.
the only thing i can tell u is that when i plug it in the pc, a red light starts bleeping. Won't turn on, soft and hard reset do not seem to make any effect, nor the power+light button.
again, please, help.
Had exactly the same...my qtek 9000 was just lying in the closet for a long time and would not boot anymore...
When I used it last time al was fine. I figured a dead battery so bought a new one...
It would give me the red LED while charging, would not be recognised on the computer etc.
Did a hard reset and then got it into the bootloader...
Had to run my laptop on XP as under Win7 it would fail to flash or do anything, but under XP it flashed properly.
After flash installed my back-up and all seems to be running fine now!

alright.. i made a similar post to this before and i came across the wiki...
well i can't view what my SPL or my IPL because as soon as i turn the device on, all that shows is the boot loader screen and displays serial on the top with 0.16-0.90 in red characters on the bottom (I'm not sure what those are)...
here are the only details that i know about my phone:
I DON'T have hard SPL
My Original ROM i was using before was an htc windows mobile 5 rom
The reason that my phone is bricked right now is because the usb cable disconnected in the middle of the flash
I'm using Windows Vista for flashing
Computer won't recognize the phone when on usb
My phone (qtek 9600) can't load the operating system

THE PHONE IS STUCK ON BOOTLOADER WHEN I TURN IT ON, NOTHING ELSE, BUT THE BOOTLOADER SCRREN DOESN'T SHOW MY SPL AT ALL.
ALSO, MY COMPUTER DOESN'T RECOGNIZE THE PHONE....... MY PHONE HAS A TYPE 2A BRICK

Do you have a 2GB or smaller SD card? Copy a rom image to it and rename it HERMIMG.NBH
Turn it on and you might get lucky!
Just make sure its stock rom that was supplied, or the updated WM06 version as the CID should check out then...
vwkess forgot to mention, reset into bootloader, hold power, ok button and reset with stylus. Hold all buttons in until you get to the tri-colour screen. If it works, follow the prompts....

i think i can hlep.
i had recently bricked my phone with a custom wm6 image, it worked fine for two days and then i reboot, and all i see was the welcome image, nothing else.
so what i did is -
i pressed the hard reset buttons - power + OK + SOFT RESET (Stylus), kept it pressed for 3-4 seconds, the fone rebooted, the screen was full with some colored bricks i connected my fone in USB and on screen i saw USB.
I then again flashed my fone with the working update, it worked perfectly for me, try may be you can get some luck
ps - before doing all these, i turned my fone off by removing the battery, i removed sim card and mmc card as well.

That may work too, but again, try to flash with a stock rom, untick "connect with USB" in activesync and then try.
Make sure you go to boootloader screen, instruction in rajivlodha's post, before you connect to the pc.

I need some help as well.
I think I may have bricked my phone. It's a rooted htc hero cdma. I'm running cyogenmod on it and it was working fine, until using metamorph to apply some changes to the theme.
I went to reboot, and it now it won't load past the htc screen. Even when i try the key combination to put it into recover mode. I didn't install a nandroid backup, and i'd be fine with just completely wiping my phone. help is appreciated.
I have tried to flash a rom on my MDA Touch with elf-uspl. Since flashing my device i cant get it starting again.I have tried to take out the battery, i pushed the powerbotton nothing helps. If i connect the usb cable with my device theres no reaction too. What can i do?? Is there any help to reanimate the device?? Or can i use it as a brick???

Go into bootloader mode (camera button and reset) and flash the ROM. press
both the button at the same time,just release the reset button u can reach the boot loader.now the things will be much simple for u i thing just open up ur RUU file flash it up.kindly make sure that u use a original rom.if u dont have it just reply else u can search it over the other threads.once u have a original rom u wont need to unlock the device.make sure that u have enough battery in ur device.feel free to reply
