Stop soft keyboard from popping up

I've searched the forums, but couldn't find an answer to this. How do you stop the keyboard from automatically poping up when you select in input box (like the address bar in Pocket IE)?

just start typing with the hardware keyboard, it should remember that and next time not pop up the softkeyboard

Or use a null keyboard. Check out PHM Tools or search for the same on here.

Be careful with the PHM Tools keyboards. I've tried it and got a white screen on startup -- had to hard reset.

yup, after a few times, it gets smart and stops popping it up

That's after you set it as the default SIP, I take it?

Yes -- as soon as I set the default SIP to anything other than the ones that come with the ROM, I get the white screen hang on startup.

Problem to change the keyboard

Hi guys today I wanted to change the keyboard type...but by tapping the little arrow on the right of the keyboard icon and changing the keyboard by setting the keyboard remain the same....I can't change the keyboard....
Someone can help me ?

Same problem here, what apps have you installed? Maybe we can find something causing the issue. I have throttle lock, pocket scrobbler, and skype. I've performed several soft resets, but am still unable to change from the standard winmo keyboard to the full or compact qwerty, or any others for that matter.

did you change your theme with Diamond TF3D Config 0.6.7? i got the same problem after i change my theme. i did a Hardreset.

crashed the soft keyboard *solved

i feel like a total idiot...
today i somehow crashed my software keyboard by installing some application to change the keyboards style.
the effect was indeed noticeable. the keyboard is gone.
when i for example want to write a new sms the screen does not change until i press on the space where the keyboard button normaly would be. tapping the keyboard space again seems to pop up an invisible keyboard but whereever i tap nothing happens.
would not be so bad, i still have the hardware keyboard or atleast i thought so, but the buttons are reassigned. the normal "." (dot) does not work at all and the "cap/shift" button opens the messages-screen.
of course i uninstalled the app but that did not help. i also tried to install another programm (pcm keyboard) hoping it would give me atleast some kind of keyboard.
but everything stays as it is.
is there any solution to this? something like reseting the keyboard? or is my only chance to hard-reset? (already tried soft-reset)

EDIT: problem solved
after very much googlen and trying various things i think simply deleting all registry entrys the app created did the job

Auto word suggestion

My elfin auto suggest words when using keyboard on a black horzontal line above the keyboard. How can I switch to the original WM vertical list method? Is there a reg key to change?

I think thats build into your SIP.
Which means you cant change it, you can try googling it though.

I'd really like to get rid of that black bar as well.
Is there some way you can change the SIP?

Ok I found out how to do it and it just requires a couple of small registry changes.
Change the following entries under registry key: HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts
Ime File: compime.dll (compime.dll was in my Windows directory so I didn't need to copy it)
Layout Text: COMP IME
Soft reset and the old autocomplete that we all know and love is back, e.g. a small box with all the suggestions.

May not be as the keyboard is the standard WM keyboard, not the HTC one. Additionally, for some time, I managed to make the black bar go away and revert to the drop down list. But recently, I did a deep registry celarning using memmaid and somehow something was changed and it caused the blacj bar to appear again...
Wondering where in the Registry should I look for this....

[Problem] Hardware QWERTY keyboard problem in 21908 build

I have problem with QWERTY hardware keyboard:
Repeat doesn't work, but after hold key, letter is changed (capitalized):
eg.:
a -> A
A -> a

That's how mine works; you don't like it? I do.
I think you may be missing an et9 package, or a registry key. With the stock microsoft compime.dll running, you get capitalization instead of repeating. With et9ime.dll running, you get the repeating feature and the black bar of death.

I don't like it.
I don't have et9, just pure 6.5 ROM.
I replace compime engine with older version (from 6.1) and it's work GOOD now.
but i looking for newer version, or reg key for config it (i found that later, now is too late..)
