Help! today i was playing with my uni today and for some reason now active sync wont syncronize everytime i connect on the device it says connected and it gives me this error
"Synchronization cannot be completed successfully. Reconnect your device and try again. If the problem persists, see the Microsoft ActiveSync Troubleshooter in Microsoft ActiveSync Help on your desktop computer."
and it is connected with the Guest account afterwards, it was working about 30min ago...
i think hat caused it is i accidently deleted a folder in application data called MDM or MDA or sth i cant remember would that have caused the problem? anyone go a backup of that file? maybe i can get a copy of? or anyone know the cause of the prob? i've turned off my firewall and everything just incase i thought it would intervene with active sync but still no luck
also i can install ay app it keep saying Installation of "the app.cab" was unsuccessful.

I just bought an i-mate Jasjar today, and I installed Activesyn 4.0 on my desktop PC(From the CD included in the package of my JJ), when I connected my JJ to the PC, Activesyn can start up automatically, but always shows " Connecting" and can never get connected! I tried uninstalled Activeysync, restarted the PC, then reinstalled Activesync, but it's still the same!
Anyone knows what's wrong with Activesync? any help will be welcome!

Did you tried disabling Firewall?
Whenever I connect my MDA Vario to my PC (Dell 700m) I get the blue screen of death which says there is a driver issue. Dont know what to do at all. How to delete drivers? Which drivers to delete?
I'm sure someone must have had this problem, but a search turned up nothing.

If u r using kaspersky antivirus you'll have to get rid of it. It was my problem. When I started using another antivirus, problem has gone.

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried shutting down Kaspersky but I still got the error. I can try an uninstall.

You have to remove kaspersky. Or sync via IR.

Hi, I am using Kaspersky Anti-Virus and have no problems! 8)
So there might be another incompatibility.
Do you use Active Sync 4.1 ??? The older version 4.0 came with my device and didn't work.
this is my experience, I am using ActiveSync 4.1+WinXP Pro+NOD32+Sygate Personal Firewall...
once I connected my mini s to the pc, Sygate like other firewall software asked me for permittion regarding the usb connection...I permitted for sure....
but the initialisation took more 15mins, and the screen freezed....I tried several times and it happened every time...
then I connected my old PPC (with PPC2003)to the pc, nothing goes wrong....
finally, I EXIT the firewall, quit it...not just "allow all traffic"...then the connection works smoothly......
the problem is I need to quit the firewall before I start ActiveSync...
Im using activesync 4.1, so that should be no problem.
Got it to work!!! Killing Kaspersky did the trick.

with older versions of kav, u have to switch off lan scan.
for example, with kav 5.0.225 wks, no pb.
I was thinking of switching to Panda anyway

I updated the ROM and the wizard seems to be working much faster, and no more error messages.

It's the Kaspersky Anti-Hacker that causes the problem, the Anti-Virus and Spam applications are fine.
I was using Kaspersky Personal Pro and I got that Blue Screen. Unninstalled it and everything work fine now.
i can connect my device on my computer and browse trough it but cant synchronise, i think from widcomm .. i disabled it but PLZ can someone send me backup activesync regsettings or something ASAP .
can you just uninstall activesync and then reinstall it?

Hi I just bought the wizard and spoke to Ashe today. he suggested that I come here for help since it won't "register settings" (just hangs there) when I plug in the activesync.
I am using XP professional on a corporate license. It's proably down to some settings but don't what to do with it?

Ensure your network to the phone is not firewalled. In ZoneAlarm you have to change the phone network to "Trusted" zone.

Its weird, but usually any PPC can accept that software, tried it before with my Himalaya, Wizard and now my Prophet and all i did was install it and begin to use..
However, that error message usually happens when you have an Application Unlocked device, you can try to de-cert it first...it is really weird as i know, it only does happen with Smartphones..

This may appear crazy, but it worked for me unintentionally of course. I had given up on being able to sync via Activesync and was looking for a solution to backup my contacts before hard resetting my phone.
I had a permanent 'Synchronization Error', I just tried a piece of software posted here

This software is designed to backup contacts, but when I ran it FIXED my 'Synchronization Error', I don't know how or why, but my phone is now working with Activesync, maybe it will fix your problem too.
It won’t do any harm to try it, as all it does is create a backup of contacts.
first off I'm using windows xp sp2 and ActiveSync 4.5 for my tmus hd2. when my computer starts up i get the error wcescommmgr.exe failed to initialize properly.

yeah my computer isn't connected to the internet so i have firewalls turned off. ichecked services in admin tools and found nothing relating to ActiveSync. i really need to sync my phone. mmmy phone gets recognized as disk drive but ActiveSync is faster
ok so i tried tracking down registry entries but it was too confusing. i ado tried reinstalling ActiveSync to my other hard drive and it still does it. wcescomm.exe had failed to initialize properly (0x0000142)
