Hi everyone.
I had big troubles when I put the official TM rom on my Qtek 1010 as I could not change my rom again and I did not like the TM rom as it had so much crap that seemed stupid if you were not with TMobile, as I am with Vodafone Australia.
I tried everything to finally after every test got some luck, I will try to explain.
Grab the official TM2003 download which has the radio update as well and extract the file, Run the TMO2003.exe and it will install the program to your computer. Do Not install anything to your phone yet. Then go to C:\program files\RUU and grab the file "ENGLISH" and cut and paste to your "desk top". Now I had a cooked rom 4.00.10 from the kitchen that would not load. But if I extracted file and cut and pasted the "english" file from the cooked rom into the C:\program files\RUU where I removed the original file and put on desk top. Then run the Upgrade.exe file in C:\program files\RUU and it will install the cooked rom....as well as the TM radio. I then just installed the radio 4.21 to give me the radio I needed for Australian Vodafone.
Now the tricky part...........
To get the Upgrade.exe to run and find the device I had to put the phone in the cradle, wait till it synced with the pc, then turn off the phone and then turn it back on again as soon as you hear the sync noise then run the Upgrade.exe and then it seems to find the device.
This all seems very strange but it worked for me. As I only have an SD
card of 15MB so I can not do the SD card method.
I am downloading a cooked rom 4.00.05 and I will try to load that and will let you know if it works.....
Hope this is of some help to someone.....
I totally mislead you all......
do not replace the file "english" replace the "NK.nbf" file.....
Sorry
Just tryed the same procedure with a cooked rom 4.00.05 and it fully worked.....Love it.
Note I got a warning that I was upgrading to the wrong version so I left the original TM2003 in tact untill it got to the verify your rom upgrade page then I swaped the "NK.nbf" file.....
Hi Ya Seal, fellow Aussie here.
Thanks for the tips.
Can you tell me what the original model of your qtek was before all your upgrades. IE. on the back of the unit should be a number like PW10a1 or PW10b1
I have a T-mobile PW10b1 (US model) and im not sure if i need to upgrade the radio stack for Australia.
I have read here in these forums that upgrading to the incorrect radio ver can permanently stuff the radio section.

Hi
Hi LeapingLee
My Qtek 1010 is PW10A1
I have radio 4.21
I went back to PPC 2002 as I use the vodafone sim banking software and 2003 does not work with it, pitty as I love PPC 2003.
Hi Guys,
I'm in Melbourne, running a o2 XDA that i bought back from the UK. Running Radio 4.21 with PPC v4.20.1081 (build 13100).
Using it on both Vodafone and Telstra networks without problem. Mind you haven't been using GPRS since i got back.
Hello,
I know that I should'nt have do that, but I need your help.
I upgrade my MDA on the following state :
Rom : 4.01.16 Eng
RSU : 4.21.00
For buisness reson I have to go back to the original state.
Rom : 3.18.01 ENG
RSU : 3.23.00
Unfortunatly I didn't do a Backup
I have acces to some MDA with the originale rom and rsu
My question is how to go back to the originale state, without destroying the other mda with the originale rom? via bootloader?
Thanks in advance
The ROM part is easy, you can get the original 3.18 ENG from the carrier devices site http://www.carrierdevices.com.au/downloads.php?region=Asia Pacific
The RSU might be your nightmare especially that you have 4.21 which showed to be the pain for most people here ... anyway, in the same site you will find RSU 3.25 for Qtek ... it's almost the same as 3.23.
Good luck
Biso007 Thanks for you answer,
I look at your link but it seems to be the Qteck version, I really need the officiale t-mobile version.
Is there any way to save the originale one in one of the other phone that I have access and restore to my one?
Biso: Is the rom found in http://www.carrierdevices.com.au/downloads.php?region=Asia Pacific WM2003? What radio version it contain? Is it compatible with PW10B1 device?
I'm now running T-Mobile ROM 4.01.16 ENG, Radio 6.25.02. I'm plannning to change the Radio to be compatible with Asia-Pacific and in the US (I've been going to Asia and back to the States for business, so I want a device compatible with both Asia-Pacific and US). Thanks
ok I Download the old version on a new phone via OSimagetool to my sd card and put it on my device. working perfectly.
So now I just have to downgrade the radio stack to 3.23.00, where I can find it and how to downgrade?
I download the file here
http://www.t-mobile.at/business/mobiles_arbeiten/MDA/SWupdates/
Looks like it's working, (at least I have the right number at startup)
the only problems that I had it's that rhe rsupgrade was lauch every time I startup, I had to delete the file rsupgrade on startup folder. now it's working like before.
Thanks a lot.
By the way, does it exist a solution in mda to copy contact name to the sim card?

No, it's PPC2002 and the RSU is 3.25 for PW10A devices (900/1800). I know it coz it was on my device before I replace the mother board with a B-type one.
If you are going to use 900 MHs network in Asia you can keep your current RSU ... I have it on my device and my network is 900/1800 ... other than this you better use 2 phones or get a new XDA II

Dealing with the SIM book is a matter of s/w and the device type (XDA or MDA or ... ) has nothing to do with it. You can find many freeware s/w to deal with the SIM entries.
ok thanks a lot, do you just have the name of one of this freeware?
try this http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=7496
don't work for me

If i upgrade my 02 xda II 1.66WWE to o2 XDA II v1.72WWE, can i back it to 1.66wwe again? if i had reset do you think it will back to 1.66wwe? thanks i need an asap response i will upgrade it now. thanks
Sorry not a reply to your question.
I was wondering wher you downloaded teh o2 XDA II v1.72WWE rom.
I have the 1.66 ROM at the moment
ooppsssss
I think i made a mistake. Look my xda II is o2 the rom version is 1.66WWE, but when i went to the www.myxda.com where the official o2 xda II website i saw their new rom update i saw this:
*************************
For English ROM
ROM version: 1.60.00 WWE
Radio version: 1.08.00
ExtROM version: 1.60.44
MMS Client: 1.6.0.8
*************************
Thats their lates rom the 1.60.00 but why mine is 1.66WWE. My xda II is o2? why? Do you think my rom is i-mate and the o2 is only the device, maybe the device is o2 and the rom is i-mate? wich means i can upgrade my 1.66 to 1.72 without any problem or any o2 data loses, right?
you have a newest 1.66 rom for asian, but this rom is not for public consumption.
if you upgrade to 1.72 rom, you will loose original rom & VOID GUARANTEE.
think about that!!!!!!
hi 004,
i think you posted a lot of threads like this, well im not a moderaor, so ok lang. hehehe.
with regards to your question, here goes.
I think you just got your unit, its from smart or globe right, from their promo, then if it is, its version O2 1.66 WWE, its the latest release from O2 Asia, although this version is not so good and stable version, you might encounter a lot of hard resets along the way, so use BACKUP, any will do, ACTIVESYNC BACKUP will suffuce.
for now, you need to know that:
1. O2 ASIA 1.60 WWE is the most stable version but lacks some upgrades.
2. O2 ASIA 1.66 WWE is complete but not particularly stable.
3. O2 ASIA 1.72 WWE does not exist YET, 1.72 is available for Imate or T-mobile versions but not for O2 YET.
O2 1.72 WWE is desirable however there is no upgrade yet from O2 (www.myxda.com), if you want, install the 1.72 of either Imate or T-mobile, but IF you will be encountering problems later, SMART or GLOBE will not be able to help you and IT is DIFFICULT to revert back to 1.60 or 1.66 O2 version.
So my advise is, IF you dont like the 1.66 O2 version for any reason at all, TRY the O2 1.60 older but better version, just backup your EXT ROM and bring over some files and installers from the 1.66 version that are missing in the 1.60 version.
IF YOU get tired of the 1.60 version, you can always revert back to the 1.66 version by upgrading.
OR you could wait for the 1.72 version from O2 when available.

Hi people.
I have an ImateJam PM10A that i require help with.
On boot up i notice it says "no GSM" D.1.12.00 WWE
The sys info i get from device information is:
ROM Version 1.12.00 WWE
ROM Date 05/28/05
Radio version BLANK
Ext rom version 1.12.119 WWE
As a result no GSM whatsoever.
Hope you guys can help me ?
Kind regards,
Mitch.
did you do anything to your jam before this happened? i dont know too much about this stuff but i would say reinstall the rom, heres what clubimate has to say about pm10a rom upgrades:
If the model number indicates PM10A, then the customer should upgrade with the Generic Worldwide English ROM Build. You will not be able to install the North American JAM (850) ROM. This WWE build does not include the connection settings for the US operators found in the North American build, though these are all available to download separately from club i-mate™.
Hi..
Ur r seeing no GSM on boot because radio is missing, meaning no phone, just the PDA...
U just have to reflash radio, and for doing that:
go to the ftp from here, download MAupgradeUt_noID.exe,and a radio ROM of ur liking(1.12 is preferable,it is radio_.nbf file),put the 2 files in 1 folder, remember to also put RUU.dll in it,enter ur phone in bootloader mode by pressing power button, camera and reset(i guess,it's been a while since I have'nt reflashed a Magician ,anyway make sure by reading the wiki page from here),then run MAupgradeUt_noID.exe,and follow on screen procedures...
Good luck...
RAGO
Tried an upgrade to the latest UK wwe full image using MAupgradeUt_noID.exe and also the latest radio rom.
whilst the upgrades complete ok the radio version and protocol version still remain blank??
any ideas on what the generic world wide flash file is called and i will give it a go.

Try bring it to service centre to checking it.

Updated2: There has been an ROM update from HTC itself. See this post.
Hi,
I need to send my Vodafone NLD branded* HTC HD2 in for repairs (see this thread). Problem is I've HSPL'ed it and installed a newer unbranded rom -1.48.404.2 (71294) NLD with radio 2.06.51.07-, still wanted to upgrade to a newer ROM bud didn't bother because everything worked fine and I had to erase everything. 'T was the newest when I got the HD2...
I only did this because the unbranded ROM was stuck at 1.43 (and still is!)
So, does anyone know where I can find the official branded Vodafone NL 1.43 (or newer!) rom so I can restore my SPL with a MicroSD card flash?
Alternatively, does anyone know either:
Another solution/suggestion?
How I can create a goldcard (I won't mind to pay a few bucks) which will restore the SPL and will restore the ROM to a version that has a high/99,9% chance to fool the repair centre?
Know how I can dump a ROM of a HD2? (I couldn't find it anywhere). I might be able to find someone who has a branded Vodafone NL HD2 and didn't "hack" it. I could then dump the rom and use it to flash my device. Ofcourse if that is succesful I'll also make the ROM available for download!
Any help found be appreciated!
* Actually its pretty stupid they branded it, they even promised they wouldn't do it anymore. The only change I could detect was the Vodafone logo and sound that was visible during boot (instead of the normal HTC screen with ROM info etc.)
[edit]
To clarify: this is about a branded Dutch version by Vodafone (NL branch). If you have Vodafone UK or ordered the English version from Vodafone NL (which is exactly the same as the Vodafone UK version) you can use one of these roms:
Vodafone UK Official signed 1.43 (origional ROM)
Vodafone UK Official signed 1.66) (1.66 ROM released on 22 Feb 2010)
Hmm if this is correct I could do what I want with a goldcard right? I would create a goldcard with the official unbranded 1.43 ROM and restore the origional SPL, radio and ROM. Thus the only difference they would notice is the unbranded ROM/OS/Splashscreen, but if I'm correct they mainly check if a HSPL is installed right?

I think this should work. Will it fool Vodafone?
Okay, so I found webpatrick who was willing to dump his ROM
But how do I now make a flashable rom out of it? (e.g. the standard flashable .exe installer or a flashable leoimg.nbh)
I've found some information on how to do it (for thopaz and rhodium), but I can't get it clear enough for me to work.
So to clarify, I would like
1. As close to the origional as possible
2. At least the origional SPL (1.42 I think)
3. Splashscreen would be a pré
3. OS Rom would be fine, but I think it is 100% the same from the official HTC
4. Radio doesn't really matter to me, but to get the origional I would like it
Can anyone help me make it or make it for me?
ROM information:

Ow cmon, with all the ROM builders out there there must be someone who knows?
I see you got started...
Maybe good good to know HSPL2 is out, now it can revert to original SPL, so maybe bepe can help you reverting to NLD Vodafone SPL.
edit: Sorry the release notes say that you can only flash an original SPL using an official ROM.
I saw it, and it's good news. The only thing I'd like is the vodafone splash screen back, which is in te ROM. Otherwise I'm just going to return it saturdat with the SPL reverted to 1.42 through HSPL2

Here are the Startup and Shutdown Animation files + reg settings.
Official Vodafone NLD ROM finally here

To be honest im glad i got my HD2 before it was officially available in the Netherlands, if i break it, i can send it straight to HTC, also, it didn't have any crappy branding or anything.
Then again i had to pay (quite some) for it, where as you new NLD hd2 users prolly didn't (or only a little)
Great news: HTC has released an upgrade for Vodafone branded HD2's itself
The version is branded 1.72.172.0.
I'm flashing it right now.
Uploading it to rapidshare right now.
