i am amazed by how quickly things turn around in here, not many weeks ago we were looking forward to XDA-Developers 1.2, now look where we are.
Because i'm such a cheap-skate i don't have internet access at home, but i do at work however for some paltry security reason 'ftp' is blocked. is there any way i could get 4.00.10 without radio.exe via http
many thanks
@jerome
I've installed it on my O2 XDA, I think it is a little more stable with a few less bugs. But if you install it there is TMobile software on it. You can remove it easilly, but you have to know what you do, which means removing the apps from the Startup folder and from the Today settings.
@david beckham
Well with which FTP program are you downloading? You can do it even with a web browser, it is pretty simple. Since there are now already 5 users downloading (which is the maximum) it is pretty clear you should download it without problems. Does it give an error?
I'm uploading the 3 files to my homepage now which is much quicker than my FTP. When it is there (about 45 min.) I will post it here.
Sorry the uploading to my homepage isn't quicker, but blame it on the guys who are downloading from my FTP which steal 45 KBps!
@Aurora13
Is your XDA Asian version ? Did you find any particular problem upgrading it to WM2003 T-Mobile version ?
Did you upgrade also the radio version ? My XDA comes from Asia and I'd like to wait for the radio upgrad that will be available this August...
Can you be more specific on how to remove T-Mobile software ? What do we have to do ?
Thank you !
As you can see I'm from The Netherlands so your first question should already be answered. But you can update your Asian XDA but without the radio update!
Your second question:
What to remove:
- Disable the TMobile Today plugin in Settings - Today
- Remove the TMobile shortcut from the Windows\Startup folder
- Remove Program Files\AIM if you don't use it and wants to save RAM space
- Remove Program Files\TMobile if you don't use it and wants to save RAM space
Reset the device and the TMobile stuff is all gone!
Sorry I can't host the files on my homepage. I've got to less space and my monthly bandwith can't allow it. So you guys are stuck with my FTP until someone else host it.
Aurora13
maybe I am new to this ftp thing, i just type this when i am in the ftp prompt
ftp>get 4.00.10 - exe-without-radio-update.zip
i still cant get the file, can you show me how should i get it?? I am using the ftp from the MS DOS prompt...
get "4.00.10 - exe-without-radio-update.zip"
should do the trick since DOS cannot use spaces without the "" around it
Good luck!
Hi!
When I click on your FTP Server I get the message:
403 Forbidden - The server denies the specified Uniform Resource Locator (URL). Contact the server administrator. (12202)
Internet Security and Acceleration Server
Any Idea?
Your solution:
Don't click on it!
Open it with a FTP program, or replace http://ftp.alain-net.net with ftp://ftp.alain-net.net
it is FTP and not a web site
can i restore my bata with 4.00.05 backup with 4.00.5 rom?

Is This Safe?
Hey, Im Currently Running The Kitchen Rom 4.00.05 with Radio Version A.20.10 :S Is it safe to install the new tmobile rom 4.00.10 exe with radio update or ?? Any help would be great
Thanks, Allen
My Device:
Tmobile Pocket PC Phone Edition USA
Microsoft Pocket PC Version 4.20.1081 (Build 13100)
Rom: Kitchen Rom 4.00.05 ENG (PPC2003)
ROM Date: 06/05/03
Radio Version: A.20.10
I updated my XDA from ROMkitchen 4.00.05 to T-Mobile 4.00.10 .exe.
Somehow, I could not roll back to my previous ROMkitchen 4.00.05. When I execute ROMkitchen 4.00.05, in the adaptrom window I got an error message below:
“error: GetConnectionType – An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
error getting connection”
My activesync is still on. I am using Radio Stack 4.21.00.
XDA Developer please help ………….. or can anyone help me please……..
Heres the deal....
All i did was do the regular upgrade to 4.00.10 and got to 13% on Radio Stack Upgrade when it errored so i took it out did a few Soft Reset's no luck so i flashed the 4.00.10 Rom through the wallaby bootloader got it up waited patiently for CE to load... loaded after about 15 minutes at that time it was running terribly slow and when i got it up i had no service because i had no Radio Stack so i then loaded up this old radio stack well not so old but it was version 4.21 i then soft reset the device started the 4.00.10 install it went through the Radio Stack then the Rom update with absolutley NO errors or conflicts so everything is working great..
Ill keep you posted on any error's i find or conflicts with stuff so far nothing wrong !
Heres something to keep in mind DONT Upgrade To Tmobile Rom 4.00.10 With the radio stack version A.20.10 Or you will be doing what i had to do!
i want to say thanks to all the great people out there posting
Thanks, Allen
Thanks to Aurora it was easy as pie to flash the w/o radio stack tmo pre-release 2003 -- and I did it over 4.00.05!!
I like this rom much better too -- interface, response, stabilty all are much better than 4.00.05. However, I've only been working with it a few hours now, and that could change ... but I don't expect it to.

You may use any ROM Updgrade, you may even want to cook your own ROM, but please do not think of performing a radio stack upgrade if your present radio is working well and giving you a trouble free service.
Hi guys,
I 'm in same situation but with higher versions, and can hardly wait to get a new 2003 ROM.
I can't just play with my XDA as I use it all the time for work and it's pretty stable so far. I just also can't tell that the ROM is 'totally' separate from the RUU in WM2003.
So the question is: is there any one here who has gone through a 2003 upgrade for Qtek 1010 to tell us his thoughts after the upgrade ?
I read a lot about the stability of 4.00.16 ENG, but all been written was for O2 R4.21 or T-Mobile R6.xx. Did any one in this region (Mid East) with R 3.2x went into this upgrade ? and what is the current status ?
Thanx all ....
Latest ...
I tried upgrading to 4.00.11 ENG from the kitchen ... no matter how many trys it just restarts and gives the same error message "Can't open USB/com port ..." ...
Do I miss anything ??
more update ...
Tried to cook the new ROM as .nb1 file and used Xdatools from the kitchen to flash my device .... same result :?
Is it possible that there is a ROM protection on my XDA ???

Hi Biso007,
Look at the IDIOTS GUIDE at:
http://www.xda-developers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3171
and follow the instructions thoroughly one by one and you can't go wrong, it did work for me, I was in the same situation.
Samohile - Thanks. It is good advice to not mess with the radio if you can help it.
My only problem is that my device periodically shuts off. Then pressing the power button soft boots it. I cant tell for sure but it seems that this happens after an incoming or missed call. It seems that other friends using ROM 3.18.04 and Radio 3.25.01 (like our friend biso007 here) seem to have very stable systems.
I can try upgrading the ROM only and see what happens but the information at www.carrierdevices.com seems to imply that both ought to be upgraded at the same time. I notice it is an Australian site. Does that matter? Also, the version of the radio upgrade is a bit confusing, at least from its name. (Radio Upgrade File : RSUv1.15_(GPRS_T32500_ENG).exe] ). I wonder what this RSUv1.15 translates into since the name of the exe file for the ROM is nicely descriptive of the version (3.18.04).
Any advice in this would be very welcome..
Well i am using WM2003 4.00.11 and its working fine for me no problem i cooked in the kitchen you just need to read arround this great forum for a whgile on topics such as upgrades and ROM to know exactly what you are dealing with and then you will able to upgrade smoothly.
Hi ARZLEB
I read lots and lots about upgrade lessons but none of them worked for me .... I got an advice to use SD card with bootloader as it's the only working way. Now I wonder why the EXE method was created!!
I see that u got the 4.00.11 working. Did u upgrade it using EXE or SD card. Any help would be so appreciated ... thnx
Well i used the EXE methode the file i cooked in the Kitchen but i didnt change the version i left as 3 at the bottom of the page it works fine i upgraded from 3.XX to 4.XX then i downgraded from 4.00.11 to 4.00.05 then upgraded again all using EXE format so far working great.
i will be honest with you i know about the SD methode very well but never tried it so u have to make more search on this issue.
If you need anything more plz message me anytime and i will be more then whilling to help you step by step...

Faisal sorry for very late reply.
I have flashed my Qtek (bought in Abu Dhabi) with several versions of roms cooked in kitchens (Jeff's and Stefans's), but I have finally settled with ATT release wm2003 Siemens SX56 upgrade. It comes with most of the bugs fixed (except multiple reset bug) and is quite stable. I almost never have to reset it. You can flash the ROM only by SD card method though. You can try it. It's always a good idea to flash using SD card method. USB method using ProgramA is not very safe. I guess the network in Pakistan is compatible with the one in the UAE, so you can safely use it, if you don't mess up with the Radio Stack. My Radio is 3.23.01 and I have no problems with that.
I just want WM2003 on my XDA. I tried installing 4.00.05 but got the white screen of death. Does anyone know if the Seimens SX56 ROM will work on my phone? I plan not to **** with the radio stack.
Just want a O/S that's newer and not as buggy as the original 3.21 that I had.
I miss my working XDA, it's been 2 long weeks and I finally get my MMC card back so I can flash.
Anyone in Australia got 4.00.05 working or WM2003? Which version you running if so?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
you didn't tell what's your device type and how the 4.00.05 failed.
I'm not sure the MMC can be used instead of SD card, but if yes, then i may advice you to cook a new 4.00.05 ROM at yorch.net and select the .nbf file method. move the file to your MMC card using the XDAtools and flash your xda through the boot loader.
good luck.
My device type was a:
PW10A
3.20.06 ENG (ROM)
3.21 (Radio)
But after trying to install with an EXE self installer became:
G32S54
4.00.05 (ROM)
R4.21.00 (Radio)
One thing I have worked out about the EXE self installers is that they will extract a NBF file to a directory, in C:\Program Files\Programme A\English
so therefore, whichever version you download in a self extracting file contains the NBF file that's required.

The Radio part shouldn't be affected by this upgrade!.
4.00.05 works just fine. The 4.01.00 and AT&T release ROM are even better (except for the stupid noise attenuation everyone's working to try and defeat).
Never(!) use the .exe method for upgrade, you have a much greater chance of it screwing your XDA. Also, according to your post you weren't messing with the radio, but by using the .exe upgrade you have inadvertantly upgraded the radio. 4.21 is the same version as O2 released for Australia, but I'm not quite sure if you're running the T-Mobile version now? As far as I know you can screw up upgrading your ROM as much as you like using the SD method because you can always whack the SD back in and start again, the bootloader is intact and the radio is intact.
I guess if you use the .exe update method from your manufacturer's release, at least you'll have some recourse in that you were only following what they said to do for the upgrade and they will probably fix it.
Use the SD upgrade method to fix your current problem, and you may need to use the Wallaby patch to do that. Good luck.

Use A.30.09, it's the only release version out there. All other versions are beta and have their problems. The only headache with A.30.09 is volume attenuation, but either soon we'll have a fix, or soon another manfucturer will make a release public so we can switch over (hopefully) without that annoyance.
Howdy,
Where can I get ROM A.30.09 from?

Which Radio Stack is the best to use in Australia?
Howdy,
Another quick question. Which Radio Stack is the better one to use? The QTek 1010 Radio Stack v3.25.01 (32S54) or the O2 XDA Radio Stack v4.21 (32S54)?
Hello,
I know that I should'nt have do that, but I need your help.
I upgrade my MDA on the following state :
Rom : 4.01.16 Eng
RSU : 4.21.00
For buisness reson I have to go back to the original state.
Rom : 3.18.01 ENG
RSU : 3.23.00
Unfortunatly I didn't do a Backup
I have acces to some MDA with the originale rom and rsu
My question is how to go back to the originale state, without destroying the other mda with the originale rom? via bootloader?
Thanks in advance
The ROM part is easy, you can get the original 3.18 ENG from the carrier devices site http://www.carrierdevices.com.au/downloads.php?region=Asia Pacific
The RSU might be your nightmare especially that you have 4.21 which showed to be the pain for most people here ... anyway, in the same site you will find RSU 3.25 for Qtek ... it's almost the same as 3.23.
Good luck
Biso007 Thanks for you answer,
I look at your link but it seems to be the Qteck version, I really need the officiale t-mobile version.
Is there any way to save the originale one in one of the other phone that I have access and restore to my one?
Biso: Is the rom found in http://www.carrierdevices.com.au/downloads.php?region=Asia Pacific WM2003? What radio version it contain? Is it compatible with PW10B1 device?
I'm now running T-Mobile ROM 4.01.16 ENG, Radio 6.25.02. I'm plannning to change the Radio to be compatible with Asia-Pacific and in the US (I've been going to Asia and back to the States for business, so I want a device compatible with both Asia-Pacific and US). Thanks
ok I Download the old version on a new phone via OSimagetool to my sd card and put it on my device. working perfectly.
So now I just have to downgrade the radio stack to 3.23.00, where I can find it and how to downgrade?
I download the file here
http://www.t-mobile.at/business/mobiles_arbeiten/MDA/SWupdates/
Looks like it's working, (at least I have the right number at startup)
the only problems that I had it's that rhe rsupgrade was lauch every time I startup, I had to delete the file rsupgrade on startup folder. now it's working like before.
Thanks a lot.
By the way, does it exist a solution in mda to copy contact name to the sim card?

No, it's PPC2002 and the RSU is 3.25 for PW10A devices (900/1800). I know it coz it was on my device before I replace the mother board with a B-type one.
If you are going to use 900 MHs network in Asia you can keep your current RSU ... I have it on my device and my network is 900/1800 ... other than this you better use 2 phones or get a new XDA II

Dealing with the SIM book is a matter of s/w and the device type (XDA or MDA or ... ) has nothing to do with it. You can find many freeware s/w to deal with the SIM entries.

always looking for gsm phone.
Say choose flexport extra if you have running voice gsm installed on this device, but i dont have the option.
hey all ..
I found an upgrade for the imate JAM radio stack, it suppose to enhance audio quality and signal strength, so i thought what the hell, let's give a try, so i upgraded my JAM from 1.01 to 1.05 and i didn't notice any major differences :
1- Audio quality during calls : maybe 10-20% better than b4, speakephone is gone though, i dunno why, it's not gone completely, actually it's so low that u have to put ur jam to ur ear to hear the other party.
2- I used to get full signal at my home, and 2-3 maximum at work: still the same no differences.
but that's just me and i don't know how to do real tests. so I think u all should try it and give ur opinions, i would have post a link, but i don't know if its legal to do that in this forum, if it's legal give me a good uploading site, it's a 2MB zip file.
the only thing confusing is this upgrade isn't avaliable on I'mate's site or any other site, and the forums i got this upgrade from has deleted all the threads regarding this upgrade
anyways, if anyone tried that, share here. it definitely worth a try.
Where have U found this update?!

if the speaker phone volume is too low with this 'update' then I guess I will wait for something else :? my speaker phone is doing ok now... wouldn't wan t to mess that up.
Strange, I have done the upgrade, and my radio works fine, even the speakerphone works flawlessly.
So ....
The Magician radiostack 1.05 is part of the Swiss Qtek s100 upgrade. Using it on an i-Mate JAM is simple.
First of all, make sure you have BOTH the i-Mate rom upgrade package and the qtek upgrade package available!!!!
Unpack the Qtek upgrade package manually to a directory and delete the rom and the extended rom files, and run the upgrade with only the radio file .... you will see that suddenly there's no country ID errors
After upgrading your radio stack, you will see that in the process, while upgrading the radio, the rom and extended rom have been erased. Now unpack your i-Mate Jam upgrade package, delete the radio file and run the upgrade. Now, the original rom and extended rom are being put back onto your i-Mate, while skipping the radio upgrade.
Of course, all of this is at your OWN RISK
Where do I get the Qtek Radio Upgrade? Can I install it over the JAM's Radio Ver or not (i.e. after hard-reset and 1st time setup I stop the Ext ROM from installing copy the Qtek 1.05 cab install that, run Ext ROM except imate Radio ver) ?
The Qtek rom:
http://www.qtek.nu/files/MA_Qtek(BrPt)_10600_116_10500_SHIP.zip
The i-Mate ROM:
http://www.clubimate.com/Support/ma_cdlsku1_wwe_10300_143_10100_ship.exe
The steps to take are as I described in my previous list.

Regards,

You have to keep both upgrade packs completely separated, they cannot be mixed due to separate checksums. The instllation program will immediately say the rom checksum is incorrect. So, you have to unpack both rompacks to separate directories, and use the individual files!
For the Qtek rom you need:
EnterBL.exe
GetDeviceData.exe
HTCRUU.conf
HTCRUU.dll
MaUpgradeUt.exe
radio_.nbf
and delete:
ms_.nbf
nk.nbf
For the i-Mate rom you need:
EnterBL.exe
GetDeviceData.exe
HTCRUU.conf
HTCRUU.dll
MaUpgradeUt.exe
RUU.conf
RUU.dll
ms_.nbf
nk.nbf
and delete:
radio_.nbf
Thanks for help man!...I`ll try it later....school is calling  . Does it metter what do I install first?....radio stack or JAM rom?
Regards,
Primoz
My post says it all ... first the Qtek Radio, then the Jam rom and extended rom back onto the Jam.
Wiz, what ROM/extended versions did that process leave you with? My MDA Compact is still:
ROM: 1.01.00 WWE (21/Oct/04!)
Radio: 1.00.10
ExtRom: 1.01.128 WWE
Also, does upgrading the ROM include a camera update? Or do you then have to apply the 103 patch that's floating around?
Thanks
Did you notice any significant improvements with this radio upgrade? My yearning to have the latest and greatest is dampened by my need for stability and fear of no real gain or even some problems.

Of course, all of this is at your OWN RISK

why to go through all this when we can upgrade it simply by just one click like i did (the whole upgrading took less than 20 min).
if anyone interested in this upgrade, tell me and i'll post a link to it.

so you will have to be cooking ROMs for this??? a very detailed step by step would be great (only if it is possible) as I'm sure alot of forum goers are not as adept with fiddling with ROMs.
@ Sozon...post it and we will try

I tried it on my JAM and it worked without any problems(except the speakerphone issue which didn't happen with all users ) but:
USE IT AT UR OWN RISK .. NEITHER I NOR THIS FORUM TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGES
