Success! Destinator 5 on i-mate kjam - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Requirements
i-mate kjam
storage card (> 512MB)
Destinator 5 and the english patch available at http://www.destinatortechnologies.com/en_US/support/faqs/destinatorpn.html#Install5
To overcome BT issues (which the patch above is meant to accomplish) I use GPSGate from Franson http://franson.com/
Configuration
1. WM BT configuration
New outgoing port on COM7
2. WM GPS Control Panel configuration
Software Port on COM7, disable hardware and sharing
3. GPSGate port mapping from real COM port, COM7 (had to type this in manually as only COM3,4,9 were shown!) to COM8.
4. Destinator 5 configuration. Use COM8.
Works - but my WM5 device crashes a lot!

About BTTools

Hello. My question is very simple.
What is BTTools, what is usefull, and where can I download it? :?:
Solve it Bluetooth problems?
Thanks in advance
Yes it solves some problems, but you get new ones for free :?
http://bluetooth.i-networx.de/index_e.html
OK, I have downloaded and installed BTTools on my XDA-II device but I have a problem with a BlueTooth device.
The device is a portable bar-code scanner of the trademark Baracoda.
The model is BL1000: http://www.baracoda.com/baracoda/products/p_2.html
I have installed BTTools cause this device works with bateries and have power save: past one minute it disconnect the BlueTooth connection with PDA and once started again not comunicate the bar-codes with PDA but is present.
The problem is that not works with BTTools. When I discover new devices through BlueTooth it discover the device but the selector screen of COM only I have as selection COM7.
I have tried before install BTTools and the device only works using the default COM5 port of Outbound COM port (BlueTooth Configuration). I think to work with BL1000 and BTTools I need that this port it be COM7 or instead that BTTools allow me select COM5 as COM port for comunication. Is it possible?
This device has an auxiliar program for translate the information of the BL1000 to PDA. http://www.baracoda.com/baracoda/products/p_9.html called Kemul.
Inside it you can configure a virtual port of Master device and Slave device but not work. If I use BTTools I select:
Slave: COM8
Master: COM7 (the COM assigned by BTTools)
This configuration not work
If I uninstall BTTools the device works and comunicate with XDA-II but the net time that the device switch off automatically not works.
I don´t understand what is happened or how I have to configure to work with BTTools.
Thanks in advance

Question about virtual BT com ports

Hi,
I have managed to install my old Tomtom navigator 224 on a qtek 9100. Everything seems to work except that I cant select my bluetooth com port in the GPS application.
My GPS can be connected to virtual bluetooth port com 6 or 7, but I only get to choose Com 0, 2, 3 and 9 in the Tomtom GPS application (v. 209).
If anyone know of a way to either list com7 in the GPS application or a method to assign com9 to a bluetooth serial port I would really appreciate it if you could share it with me.
In the old days on my Qtek 2020 there was a trick where one could install a Widcomm bluetooth stack - but I am not sure if this is possible on this device...
Regards
Lorents
i have similar problem..
please let me know if you find a solution...
Did you install the TomTom 5.21 update? v5.0 isn't completely compatible with WM5 and won't list the bluetooth ports
i don't need tomtom. I use igo (navigation software)
you need to enable the "gps settings" icon in settings, then you can create a temp com 6 port which will show up in tomtom gps settings as a new choice of port.
will find you the link, unless someone else finds it quicker.
found it
start from step 3 for enabling gps icon

bluetooth problem

i have a qtek 9100. i try to connect with my bt gps receiver with IGO (navigation software) and it doesn't work. in config menu i have only 0, 1,2,3,4,9 com ports. Gps receiver works on com 8.
the same configuration on a hp ipaq 4700 works just fine. in config menu detects all com ports from 0 to 9.
why i don't have com 8 on qtek 9100 ?
also in resco file explorer i don't have send to bluetooth option. on my hp 4700 i have that option.
Hi florin83,
I've the same problem as yours on a QTEK 9100 (Wizard), but with a Navigon Navigator 4 software and Navigon GPS BT receiver. Then it doesn't works with different GPS softwares (and/or receiver?)...
Did anyone find a solution for these BT COM Ports problems ?
Thanks

tomtom n5 serial port issues on the mini s

Does anyone know wheter the AKU2 service when realeased will solve the problems with tomtom not allowing you to select the only two available com 6 and com 7 ports.
Iv'e been scanning other threads and can't find an answer to resolve the probelms with connecting a bluetooth gps devise to tomtom on the mini s.
My mini s is operating on ROM 1.5.4.2 WWE and doesn't have the required serial port manager, is this a common probelm.
Can I ask what version of TomTom you have installed?
I set-up my XDA Mini S last night with no problems. Connected to my cheapo bluetooth GPS reciever (£40 from Mobilefun) to tomtom (v5.210) using COM7.
You need to set-up the com port for the device in the bluetooth connection manager first and then the port should be available in tomtom.
I have tomtom nav 5 installed.
I have also installed the V 5.2.1 patch (if thats correct) from the tomtom website.
I'm using the Holux 236Slim GPS receiver, but when i go into tomtom and configure using Other NMEA GPS on baud rate 4800 (seen this reccomendation on other forums) i can only select COM9, COM3, COM0 and COM2.
In my bluetooth manager i've set up the outgoing port to COM7 (it recognises the devise) but it still doesn't appear in the tomtom configuration.
I'm pulling my hair out with this one, it seems as though may others are having the same problem but i can't find the solution.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

I had same problem last week. I suggest uninstall everything related to tomtom and find version 5.21 after the installtion your device (tomtom) will recognize the port 7 immediately... Regards...
COM ports mismatch
I had the same problem of mismatching COM ports for settings Active Sync sinchronization via bluetooth between PC and PDA Wizard.
I solved this problem by deleting in registry editor the serial devices which were configured on COM6 and COM7 ports on my PC (they were used from a USB-to-serial adapter).
Search in registry editor of your PC which device are configured on COM6 and COM7 ports and remove them from registry if you can.
I strongly suggest you to backup your PC registry before making any changes. Do it only if you are sure of you are doing.
Of course you need PC Administrator profile in order to make any changes to PC registry.
Bye.
Have a look at this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=43412
hmmm... as mentioned above it just worked for me but I did a clean install of v5.210 of tomtom and did not do an upgrade.
I think from looking at other posts the version of tomtom is important.
Do the uninstall and see if you can get hold of a full v5.21 installation as I have seen some kicking about on various torrent sites.
Sorry I'm not more help.

External GPS

Troubleshouting External GPS
I'm having some trouble with connection to my external GPS (ADAPT 300).
When using the GPS directly after connect (Com 6) it works fine..
but when I want to use it after sometime.. after starting TomTom (or other Applicaton using GPS) my GPS wants to (re)connect..
This is pretty annoying since I have to do the connection process all over again.. (pin, setting outgoing com)
Any suggestions.. is this WM6 related (I noticed similar when using WM6 on my i-Mate JAmin)
Regards
Yesterday, I had also problem configuring the BT-338 external GPS.
But then it was working fine.
I use TomTom 6.010 btw, and I dont think TomTom use the external GPS setting.
At first, I fiddled around with the external GPS without success.
Then I realized that I must create an OUTPUT COMPORT in the BT settings!
So, I set that and voila, it works.
However, the comport that I set is different compared to the one that I set in the External GPS -> hardware ... But TomTom still works.
TomTom set to use Other BT GPS at com port 6 [ saved ]
External GPS:
- Software com port set to 9
- Hardware com port set to 5
BT settings:
- Output com port set to 5
i-Blue747
I replaced my Adapt AD300 with a i-Blue747 GPS Logger.
Problem is solved, reconnecting works fine now.
Since the problem occurred on 2 different Devices running WM6, my conclusion is that the ADAPT AD 300 is not compatible with WM6.
1st was iMate JAMin with the WM6 PDA Viet 4.0.0.6 Touch Rom
2nd was the HTC Dual
