Hi! i have a universal jasjar, since i have brought the device, iam facing problems everyday.i had broken my lcd earlier n had to pay 200 pounds to get it fixed and now its broken again..i think it has the most fragile screen i have ever seen..has any 1 got it fixed for cheap?
the other problem is i was working on my pda(with the broken screen), it suddenly said yr phone is running out of memory, please close applications..i rebooted and it started in safe mode ( i have spb pocket plus installed) and then again rebooted ..now it is only rebooting..the flash screen shows up for a min. then screen goes off and then it again reboots..
Can some 1 please help..

Put yr device in Bootloader mode and reflash CE ROM...BTW where in India u hv replaced the screen...I think 200 GBP is too high...I know the person who looks after the I-mate service center and from there it shd not cost more than 15k INR...

How do i put it in bootloader mode? i had got it changed from imate service centre in delhi, rajouri garden..they charged me 15500 INR..equivalent to 200 GBP.. they are cheaper alternatives available in market..just tryin to find them..
Press Light+camera+Powwer and simultaneously soft rest...u will see "serial" on the screen(without light)...attach data cable and run the ROm update...If u are facing problem u can call me @ +919890034127...may be I can guide u.

Gosh that sucks. These guys are really ripping all of us off.
People in the UK are buying the Exec for about 200 pounds and we have to spend that amount only to get the screen changed? Unreal.
Hope you find a better alternative. Would the O2 centre in GKI be any better and would they repair it?

Well, thanks brother for all yr help and guidance..i have been able to reload the CE by going into bootloader mode, but the problem is i have to install all my programs again..lol..
however, i am unable to find a cheaper alternative for lcd screen..as iam currently in uk..wil try n sort out something here..may be get an insurance..

O2 Exec will not be released in India and hence u won't get warranty for the same..it is only JASJAR and I mate so....
I still doubt that UK will hjave cheap resources for the LCD as it been mfrd in Taiwan...
If someone have contact in HK...one can really get cheaper resource...FOr Ex I normally get XDA 2 screens at 4-5k(Landed in Pune)..

O2 Warranty and Service Centre in UK
dear all,
any one know the address ..especially the email address for the o2 warranty and service centre in uk?
i've a problem with my exec (its hang after i reload the new software updated..i've do it for a several times but its still hang)...and i've manage to email o2 custoemr support and they ask me to sent the unit but can't help me to contact their warranty and service centre...
please some help me in this..since i'm now in malaysia!!!!!!!!!

hi everyone today i have noticed screen alignment problem with my t-mob mda vario 2 , it has serial number HT632xxxxxxxxxxx . it has been almost a week since i ve got it and this is the first time i have noticed it. The only difference since last night is 2 app i have installed. one is ae button plus and other one is pocket music. now i have removed them and tsting it again. will post further.
is there any one having smilar issues?

since ihave removed aebutton plus it seems fine but you know once you have seen such thing you get bit suspicious about everything.
I have also emiled developer of aeb but not sure if he will reply.
and I have also asked tmobile what would be the solution. they don't recognize screen alignmet issue as a fault yet and advised me not to belive everything on the net :S
they also won't replace device but refer me to htc. I don't know if another support guy would tell different but since I ve still got some time until free to cancel period over, if I get same problem again I will cancel my contract and stick with old wizard some time
change it.
i go back to my seller (before 15 days) dans i change it, now ht630xxx and no probleme

but problem is, fault is very hard to demostrate. it reminded me my sony digital camera, power button wasn't responding time to time and randomly, i have sent it to sony explained whats happening. after a week i ve got reply. they were explaining how to operate cameras power button!!!
another example is today before i have cancelled my contract i was asking customer care why its almost pain to connect to internet in my area . after sendin trace and ping results via email response i ve got was:

I think that if you look in the warranty you will find that this is incorrect. If you speak to HTC and give them the IMEI, they will be able to assist you further.
I just loaded everything on my unit... and it's back to once a day misalignmnet ...!!
It could be the digitizer driver is being allocated to unstable segment of the memory. A dopod HK technician tried to replaced the digitizer and it's no use. He is waiting for the official ROM release for HK dopod 838Pro. It is still on hold here in HK.
He even mentioned that replacing the digitizer with a less responsive one (cheaper as he said) FIXES this issue. But it would be also costly for Dopod to replaced the hundreds released in Singapore. But waiting for a fix from HTC also costing them !!!

well i just got my spv back from the repair station (my usb thing broke off)...they fixed it on however it doesnt charge...i plugged it into the computer...my computer recognises but keeps on saying unknown device..so i dunno what to do with it?....
i was wonderin if i could sell the parts??!!..

I've just sent mine to CarPhoneWarehouse and they sent it to HTC in Birmingham - it's taken a long time - I think it's worth it though. Only cost me £45... Maybe try them, don't know how much you spent getting it repaired or if they were the ones who did it. Sometimes it's better to sell it and call it quits but it's just a suggestion.

I have recently updated my sofware on the O2 website and after following the instructions to the letter the screen will just show a mess of green and red dots all over the screen in vertical sections?
I have tried a hard reset soft rest and all the other posible resets i can do but still this screen wont go away?????
Please help if you could suggest anything

I have had exactly the same happen to me, it appears that O2 are total amateurs when it comes to supplying ROM upgrades. not only that but you will find that the support no. on the site actually takes you nowhere. I sent mine back to the supplier and after trying to reflash the ROM they were unsuccessful and so i am now waiting on a new XDA. Dont bother with O2 as they were no help at all to me, firstly i couldnt get through at all and after 2 weeks of emailing them every day i got a response telliung me how to put the unit into boot loader mode (no help at all!!!!!)
Good luck to you in getting this issue resolved, i only hope that you have it insured like myself.
Once again O2 you are indeed crap!! thanks for the service that i didnt recieve, altho i pay way over the odds for this otherwise worthy handset.

Need you help . I purchased a new Imate JASJAM after few days of using the PPC , i noticed a strange thing happening on my phone. All the application just closes automatically . when i open any apps it just closes within seconds , i am just able to receive calls and no other functions work . I took it to the imate service center couple of times now but after they handed over the phone to me , the problem persists after using the phone for 2 days . It seems very strange to me . Request your help/suggestion and solution to control this problem so that i can use the PPC again without any problems
What did the service center tell you was wrong with it?
And have you tried just doing a system restore?

The service center restored my mobile device from WM6 to WM5 as it was not compatible, earlier they thought it was an software issue and then the hard ware was also checked but to no avail. after sometime of working on the ppc , the programs just closes immediately within seconds of opening.
It should run WM6 just fine, they also have a wm6 rom for your device so that should tell you somthing.
sounds like they didnt know what was wrong with it.
Tell them your unhappy with it and you want a replacment, thats if u havent unlocked it>
Or maybe someone else here willl reply with a better solution.
To me though it sounds faulty

If you got the phone from a legit source it should have had some type of warrenty at one time. And if so was it in for repairs during that period. Just asking cuz thats your proof that the problem was never resolved and they should still provided you with a replacement.I could be wrong but Id look into it more.

Ok, real long shot. We have several Jasjams. One of our Jasjams had an issue with a broken OK button (near the scroller). The button just stopped working altogether. Is it possible that yours has lost it's click and it keeps pressing ok, shutting the programs? If that's the case, see if it's possible to reset the function for the broken button in the settings.
Hi there, what ver of WM6 you upgraded to? the ok button theory seems true, but just tell me what WM6 did u use? did u try 1 Version only or you tried many?
if you think this is a OS problem, try upgrading to Schap's 4.22 or TNT.SE, these are the best two versions ever, i am using Schap's on my JASJAM and its just perferct wihtout flaws, try installing it and see what happens with you.

if you bought it from a legit place and haven't put any cooked roms on you should be able to get it replaced if it goes bung in the first month. the store should replace with no questions asked if there is a problem that they cant resolve..... imate also has a years warranty on new phones so you should be able to send to them and be fixed AT NO COST TO YOU (excluding postage).
suggest taking back and if they say theres no problem test b4 taking out of the shop. all the help i can give, Cheers.

I have send my phone to warranty, one week later i received it with a new main board for free but they have written "warranty violation".. may be because the phone is unlocked. With Vodafone SFR (french) it's forbidden to do it.
