Can someone who has an I-Mate Jam go to Bluetooth-> COM Ports-> Check either Incoming or Outgoing Port-> When you get to the Ports can you please tell me how many you have available?
I just got my Jam back from PPC Techs for the RAM Upgrade and there are no COM Ports available to set up my GPS. I don't recall exactly but it used to be COM Ports 1-9. Does anyone know how to get those COM Ports back?
Thanks!
I noticed that after I upgraded to the new bluetooth stack for A2DP, my Com Ports have disappeared as well.
Install "BT_COM_PORT.CAB" from here

Hi!
In my bluetooth settings I am only able to select com port 5 as my Bluetooth serial port. My problem is that i Tomtom GPS setup i can only choose "BT on Com 6" when I wanna connect my Emtac Wireless GPS device. How can I change this?
Have you downloaded the latest patch for bluetooth by Towa?
yeah, search this forum and you will find it, and it will do the trick for you. all very good stuff, and freeeeeeee  and legal
Wow!
Yes. found it and it was exactly what I needed! Works!
But why the heck didnt Microsoft put in this feature from the start?
I have read all about the bluetooth i need to know to configure the XDAII to work with the comp. Problems i encounter are
1. THey get paired with the auth keys i put in! but the services that i wanna retrieve from the comp on the XDAII itself cannot be view, all i get from Bluetooth>Bonded Devices>Desktop are 1. rename 2. delete. Is it suppose to be that way?
2.Now the vice versa, when i wanna retrieve the services from the XDAII on my comp it gives me only 1 choice, and that is DUN or Dial-Up Networking? and i on the right track?
3. Downloaded the stupid Bluetooth software for the comp and the software cannot seem to detect my XDAII
4.Downloaded the Pocket Bluetooth tools, thinking that it will solve all problems, i am still stuck there!!
I only in my early twenties but i seem bald enough from the stress i get at work, now with this stupid dongle that i bought from Auction it seems to me that i am already bald! Pls some1 just guide me along this... Another other tools or softwares to get???
1 last thing just to let all out there know... I am running on a XP platform with the latest T-mobile 1.72 rom in my XDAII.
From what i understand the XDAII has only a stripped down bluetooth stack. I would like to use a Crabat bluetooth dongle to receive MP3 over bluetooth but this to will have to wait until someone v.clever does a very serious driver package.
From what i think now is the BT stack in XDA 2 is not compitable with the widcom BT stack in my comp! thats the prob any soultions to it? somehow i manage to get it sync but error to the com port saying other programs are using the comp port. Well i getting balder by the seconds! its already 0500 in Singapore!!!
I give up. First when i use the bluetoothGPS i can get an outgoing port to recongize on XP then when i uninstall that, the outgoing port also just dissappear. Can some1 explain to me what is happening? When i download the pocket BT tools. I only get an incoming port from the XDA2 is it suppose to be that way?? Shouldn't i be having a outgoinport to sync too??
FINALLY
I got it to work finally with another bluetooth dogle i bought. An advice to all ppl trying to do bluetooth out there. Always get the class 1 (100m) bluetooth dogle, always a better range!! XDA2 can go out to 30 m. With the new bluetooth stack + bluetooth tools it is good!!! Finally i got it to work with help from http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=5237&highlight=active+sync+bluetooth
Can anybody out there please help, I thought I knew my way around the XDA2 by now but cant work out how to change the com port number for serial port on the Pocket Bluetooth tools menu.
When I select my TomTom 3 bluetooth gps receiver the only com port option shown or available is Com7 and this does not connect.
I have searched and searched on this forum and would apprecieate if somebody could point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance......
i cannot sync via bluetooth......my laptop detects and its paired too...no incoming or outgoing ports are seen....i hve 2 BA both upgraded to WM6... working allright ....please somebody help
Well, you didn't exactly give much information.
What do you mean "no incoming or outgoing ports are seen"? What do you get when you go into activesync on the angel and tell it to connect via bluetooth?
you must have enabled on your PC BT dongle one incoming and one outgoing com port, also in activesync on your pc in connection settings you must check that activesync to accept connection on your incoming port. Then the sync over BT will be possible
bluetooth
thank you explode I have done it now
What settings do I need to fill up?
Hi anyone who can help me,
I am trying to sync via bluetooth... I can connect both laptop and BA .. however, I dont know what else I need to do to make them sync via bluetooth..
I dont understand where to set up the com in and out.
would someone be kind enuf to guide me step by step please .. excluding pairing devices since that is straight forward.
Cheers

I have the same problem, just enable the beam in the connections manager, then enable the bluetooth as well , then set bluetooth to discoverable in the bluetooth settings then everything works fine.
It seems the beam must be enabled as well for some reason.
Would love to know if there is a more elegant solution though.
I can create only incoming port on PC. When I try to create the outcoming port, he try to find the device (BA) but donĀ“t find it. Help....

Hi Team
I need some help from others that have tt6 running on an XDA211i
Any body out there ??
I think I am having the usual problems with com port set up ?
Havnt tried GPS Dash yet but that thats my next stop .
help needed
Astro1
tomtom 6 works fine on the xda2i, i know i was running it,till someone stole the device. Just turn off beam (click start > settings>connections>beam) and then pair the gps, once paired add a outgoing com port on the device(click com ports at the bottom).
Then run tomtom setup and choose your device in the config,if it isnt listed choose other bluetooth, then choose the com port you selected as the outgoing port and it will work
Add an outgoing com port
Hi Scousemartin
Great to hear from you , I have been struggleing with tt6 for waht seems like ages now .
I can follow uyou all the way to add an outgoing Com port ? clock on com port at the bottom ?
Ive paired and then cant find where to add am outgoing com port on the device ( Click com ports at the bottom ??? dont have a " com ports at the bottom ?? )
I can look at the device and it adds the bt gps as outgoing port 6 , when i put this in to tt6 and turn both on the gps flashes furiously but as far as TT6 is conceerned it keeps the " no gps device " sign and no spinning disk either.
No other progs seem to ba able to run a gps either on my machine , maybe this is significant ?
Astro1
sorry for not getting back earlier astro pm me a msn or yahoo address and i will talk you through it, what version of tomtom 6 are you running?
Hi Astro,
Have you fixed your problem yet? I am also running TT6 on an XDA IIi with no problems. Might be able to help...
