Hi,
It's a couple of days that connecting my JJ to USB AS goes to connecting but does not connect. I've tried to reinstall AS in my PC, I've tried to restore backup (Sunny) but no way to solve the problem and I'm unable to connect PDA with PC. Any idea before hard reset?
Thanks[/code]
Hi I had the same problem before, did you install notification software from scary bear?
Mine was I install the scarybear notification sw to my Exec and I accidently delete some notification, thus after that I unable to sync my Exec with PC.
I did a reset (press power button + reset )-won't hard reset for persistant storage(I know), and it went back to normal again..I can sync with no problem at all.
Perhaps you can try that
In effect, I've pocket mechanic and my problems apperars afer a clean of the notfications. I've tried to do as you told but didn't work. Is the sequence POWER BUTTON + RESET? I have to keep pressed a button??
Thanks

My usb cable detached during the rom update ... now it won't start and neither soft or hard reset works.
Please ... any suggestions
Plug it back in and re-run the update
It won't start so it makes no connection to active synch on the pc
Have you tried the boot loader mode. TO activate this mode, hold down the power button, lights button and press the reset button. The screen should go blank and have serial written on it. Once you plug in the usb, this will change to USB. Start the update again.
thanks both of you - worked and so relieved.
thought it was kaput!
Hi,
I just installed application,
however after i reset the PDA, it's not starting the windows. just the main blue screen (O2 default backscreen) and no activity at all.
I tried to charge the battery, but the light is off (usually it shows red/green light).
I tried to install Xda_Exec_Upgrade_v1.30.162.exe (latest ROM from O2),
but unfortunately it failed as well, as the application couldn't detect my xda exec .
try to press power + light + reset button and restart the application. and get the same result.
anyone can help?
TIA
Tokek
and also.. have tried hard reset with no luck ..
after reading same posting.
solved it by :
1.) Make the update without any card (SD + SIM) in the phone!
2.) Use the original USB-cable
3 ) press power +light +reset button
4) re run the update
5) done
Good news .... Congrats

Try taking out the battery for a min or so.
Then replace and let it reboot.
tried that already..believe me...any other suggestions?
its not bricked...flash it with your original rom.
it won't connect via activesync. no activesync -> no flashing official rom.
Hold down the power button and the camera button while hitting the reset button. your phone should then boot into the tricolor boot screen. connect to your pc and reflash as needed....AS will not see your phone but the ruu will
...
unplug the usb cable, pull out your battery, put it back in, hold down your power button and camera button at the same time, your phone should be on the tricolor screen now (bootloader)
plug the usb cable in and reflash your phone.
Hello
I took my friends xperia to install some applications when it happens this:
After i installed AEK software Keyboard Mapper the system asked me to soft reset the device to apply some settings.(The device during this procedure was connected via usb with the pc)
I press "yes" and as usual at the start up appears the sony ericsson logo then the experia logo and finally the device is active. But in my case the phone when it comes to the experia logo freezes..The screen remains illuminated but blank and when iam touching the screen(which is blank) i can hear the sounds of clicking. In this state if i want to shut down the device the only method is to take off the battery.I tried to hard reset the device(when its closed) but unfortunately it wont allow me to do so(i tried with all the possible ways to hard reset the device). At first i thought that the device had hasnt too much battery.I fully charged it and i tried again getting the same results. Please, can anyone tell me what to do?
Edit: After several tries it came up this message "The device is unable to boot because either you have turned off the device incorrectly or tries to install an application from untrusted source.Press volume up to reset or press any other button to cancel etc" Iam pressing the volume up button but nothing happens. Please can you tell me how to hard reset the device?
Here is a link to soft/hard reset tutorial

P.S This took me 10 seconds to find on google
Ian
Might have to hard reset, if you didn't install a safe mode boot program.

Thanks Ian but apparently you didnt read all the lines i wrote.I said "i tried to hard reset the device with all the possible ways but didnt work" including this way you send me.Thanks anyway
Problem solved
Doing this:
without using the stylus is to switch off the phone,
hold down right and left button (under the screen)
while holding down switch on the phone
release the switch button while holding the two others
then a grey screen must appear saying to push "r" to hard reset or "x" to cancel
push "r" on the keyboard and you're done

Could you provide us with the following info:
Which rom are you currently using?
Have you recently flashed a new rom? Problem may be with this rom in particular
What is your current SPL?
When did this first start happening?
Have you recently installed any apps?
Have you recently changed any registry settings/tweaks?
This may help us narrow down your issue

Hi there abiis,
You can try resetting your phone back to factory settings by performing a Hard Reset. Try to uninstall any programs that you may have recently installed first that may be causing a conflict. You can backup any data on your phone (such as Contacts, Messages, etc) using PIMBackup before you perform a Hard Reset.
To perform a Hard Reset, try the following:
1. With the device turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then briefly press the POWER button.
2. Continue pressing the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons until you see this message on the screen:
Warning! Your device will be set back to factory default settings. Please ensure any additional installed programs and/or user data have been backed up before a hard reset is performed.
3. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.

i know this option but i need a solution without having a hard reset thanks any way
can't you just backup before hardreset ?
To be honest, I think a Hard Reset would resolve your problem with the dropped calls... but if you are unwilling to perform a hard reset, then I would suggest that you try sending your phone back to HTC for repair assuming it is still under warranty?
Best Regards.
well this depends greatly
which end call button is he using. if it the red software one then its a software problem, and this would be remedied with a had reset
if its the one on the bottom of the phone with the 4 button (start call, home, back and end call) then this could indicate a hardware issue and in that case i recommend a return to vendor
