Could you provide us with the following info:
Which rom are you currently using?
Have you recently flashed a new rom? Problem may be with this rom in particular
What is your current SPL?
When did this first start happening?
Have you recently installed any apps?
Have you recently changed any registry settings/tweaks?
This may help us narrow down your issue

Hi there abiis,
You can try resetting your phone back to factory settings by performing a Hard Reset. Try to uninstall any programs that you may have recently installed first that may be causing a conflict. You can backup any data on your phone (such as Contacts, Messages, etc) using PIMBackup before you perform a Hard Reset.
To perform a Hard Reset, try the following:
1. With the device turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then briefly press the POWER button.
2. Continue pressing the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons until you see this message on the screen:
Warning! Your device will be set back to factory default settings. Please ensure any additional installed programs and/or user data have been backed up before a hard reset is performed.
3. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.

i know this option but i need a solution without having a hard reset thanks any way
can't you just backup before hardreset ?
To be honest, I think a Hard Reset would resolve your problem with the dropped calls... but if you are unwilling to perform a hard reset, then I would suggest that you try sending your phone back to HTC for repair assuming it is still under warranty?
Best Regards.
well this depends greatly
which end call button is he using. if it the red software one then its a software problem, and this would be remedied with a had reset
if its the one on the bottom of the phone with the 4 button (start call, home, back and end call) then this could indicate a hardware issue and in that case i recommend a return to vendor

I had some problems with my Touch Dual which forced me to reset it by means of the reset button. Now finally it seems that I've destroyed the button
Since I need Hard Reset (system is locked and I cannot enter the requested "a1b2c3" sequence) just removing the battery is not sufficient.
I there an alternative way to force a Hard Reset?
I think...
Start > Settings > System > Clear Storage
...is the same as a hard reset, other alternative is to reinstall a rom...
Reflash a ROM if you have one.
I also wouldn't be surprised to find there is an mtty command that does it too - check the wiki.
Is there an SSPL for the Niki that would allow people to run mtty commands? not sure but worth checking into...
Found out that with SKTool one can perform a hard rest, too. Works perfect and finally solves my reset button problem
BTW: HTC rejected to fix the button problem, very very very poor service ...
do they have a reset button, cos mine doesn't. i usually have to take the battery out.
which reset button, if you mean the little one in the back you can hard reset by holding red and green buttons when you switch on
Yesterday was installing the drivers for the Redfly viewer on my XDA Mini. When the drivers had finished installing, the device soft reset and wouldn't get past the O2 splash screen. I've been browsing the web for possible solutions but haven't found a definiative answer. Can anybody give me some advice to possible fix my XDA?
Alex
This will erase all data and restore your phone to factory default settings.
Hard reset sequence: Press VoiceDial button + Comm Manager button + soft reset.
nah, it hasn't done anything still stuck on O2 splash screen. Thanks anyway

The Key combo works ! also if u have access to your phone from Start -> Settings -> System -> Clear Storage - i've done it once - deletes contacts , programs , clock/data , and etc. really helpfull if u got screwed by a program ! i recommend instaling a backup program and making a backup once a week ! that's how u can be sure that nothing 's gonna f8ck up when u try new things and make that backup on the memory card so u just removed it before reseting ... try a way to connect it to a PC and delete the thing u think is screwing and then load the backup and have fun ;]]
Hi Everyone,
Of course - it had to happen to me, one in a million; with the power button dead on my htc touch hd, is there any other way to do a hard reset, particularly when upgrading roms? As instructions are very precise to ensure you do a hard reset after flashing.
For me, the volume buttons combined with the top power button method don't work. - And unfortunetly, the unit is out of warranty.
Appreciate any suggestions, or any other methods possibly in trying to hard reset for flashing? Guess I'll give anything a go... 8)
thanks in advance.
Woz.
Clear Storage.
Use Clear Storage to reset your device back to factory default settings.
1. On the Home screen, slide to the Settings tab and then tap All Settings.
2. On the System tab, tap Clear Storage.
3. Enter “1234” and then tap Yes.
This is a hard reset via software.
~thank-you~ wasn't sure if this was an acceptable method for flashing, but new rom is now working well.
Cheers.
