Stefan
Thank you for that suggestion but ActiveSync cannot recognize my SX56. I have tried several ways to over come this as suggested on this site. I find myself in deep water.
But there is no active sync required for sd-card flashing !?!?
Stefan
Now I am getting it, I must have a SD Card reader to carry this out. Then place it in my SX56. Thanks
Thanks "LumpiStefan:"
It work and my SX56 is working great, thanks again.

Upgrading
It will take about 5 minutes...
I was trying to upgrade it with the xda-developer rom verison.
I dont have any backup also for this device please help and I do have a SD card and SD card reader also.
If the bootloader not be erased, you could still use SD to restore OS.
If the bootloader already damaged, the only solution is hardware solution.
I can help you to resolve all problems
How to restore using the SD please tell me.
I do get the bootloader mode when i pressed the power , navigator and reset button on the pda

using Xdrit to write the OS to SD card via SD writer.
you can get Xdrit from xda-developers.com (do some search).

I had this stupid RadioStack crash that resulted in GSM ERROR that made my device unable to recharge the battery or run mobile function, so the status now is a ppc which has no phone and should always be conected to AC
when I consulted the Agent service tey claimed it's a motherboard error that would require a new baord, which'll cost me around 300$.
could you please help me!!
Cgaigate, is it possible to restore a corrupt radio stack using jtag, if you have the capability I can let people know.
GSM ERROR - RADIO STACK CRASH
Hi Smiley,
I crashed my Radio Stack, too. Has anyone an idea? Is it possible to repair? By myself?
I heard cgigate could help?
Bye
Yep - "GSM Error" in Wallaby Bootloader 5.15
Anyone got any ideas on fixing this one?
Cheers!

the upgrade is from ROM 1.66 (original ROM) to ROM 1.72.
now i desperately asking for your advice or hints from your experiences how to revive my precious xda ii, i really love this gadget and i got it as my birthday present from my family.
i hope someone out there could help me to solve this problem.
many thanks,
many regards
never went back from post wm5 to older roms so i dont have any exp with it
but did you flash the extentedrom nbf file? if not you may have to reflash that using the flashtool same as if you were flashing rom or radio
and does it include the config.txt where all cabs to be run are listed
and the autorun.exe or what ever it's called?
thanks for your reply rudegar,
the problem is, i cant get into my xda at all, no bootloader screen appears. even though the usb cable plugged in, my PC wont recognize it. I can say it is in dead state.
do you have any clue, if its true dead, hoq to ressurect it?
I hope you or someone could come up with something
thanks before
i have flashed my ipaq 614c but fail.... the machine cannot be boot and hang ath the "hp" screen...
nothing happen even perform clean boot...
try to reflash but it hang at "SDLoader" screen.....
any suggetion to fix it?
thanks
What microSD card did you use? Please be informed the SDHC card are not recognised by device during SDloade stage. You must use not SDHC card.
Maybe this is the reason of flashing fail?!?
You may repeat flashing any time. Until you are able to get the SDloader you are able to flash it again.
Good luck.

thanks,.... i am using 2G kingston micro SD...
not sure but i think it is not SDHC as it is not printed....
i try to unload the micro SD from the phone and then boot the phone... still no respone...
very bad situation.
most likely modem FW with bootloader messed up.
call support and replace it.
or try to find out how to reflash the rom using jtag. A good start would be to find out where the 5 jtag connection points are at the 61x.
let me know if you found it out. i was not successful.

oh...i give up...
will take it back to the service center later this week...
thanks for your suggestion....
I am trying to gather as much information as I can before I decide to flash my iPAQ 612c as I 've never done it before.
I came across the following information, I hope it can help someone. I think its possible to recover from a failed rom update.
There is a fair bit of reading and searching involved. Please note I have not executed any of these steps but I think it might be worth it.
http://www.pocketpcaddict.com/forum...your-ipaq-after-unsuccessful-rom-upgrade.html
you can read more here and download the romupdate.zip it contains the
Multi-port/USB TTY utility mentioned

let me know if it was helpful.

Hello all!
I had similar situation - my notebook crashed during ipaq (614c) ROM update. I tried to run upd utility several times without success (stops still on the same percent with error like this: "Code 402: cannot communicate with device") and 'course I almost gave up. I decided to run upd utility last time but now with SDloader "ON" (voice com+mute+powerOn). And this was success, upd ended with no error, and I got my ipaq back - running!

Hi mfclyau,
can you please tell us what happened at the end? I am facing the same issue, its getting stuck at the SDloader or at the initial boot screen. I flashed the wrong flash.dio
any help pls.
Hi
I have an O2 Orbit and was attempting to add a few nice cabs to my cooked rom. Anyway it crashed about 6 times running after it had worked fine so I decided to do a hard reset.
Now, when I go into bootloader I get SPL 1.25.0001 and SPL 1.25.0000 with the RUU and USB motifs at the top right and bottom left respectively.
I have tried running ROMUpdateUtility.exe and flashing:
a) the original Orbit rom which just gives a FLASH WRITE ERROR
b) a cooked ROM (but I think I need to USPL) which fails after 3%
How do I re-USPL and then re-flash a cooked ROM...I seem to be able to find small bits of information but not everything I'm after.
I did this about 18months ago so I've completely forgotten again now!
Please can somebody take the time to explain what I need to do.
I can get it into Bootloader and connect it to an XP machine so it's recognised by the update utility.
Thanks for any help.
Follow the links
Follow the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311403
You may need to check about how to recover the bricked device through the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=308242
you will be guided on how to unlock before installing any cooked ROM to O2 Orbit or Artemis.
Hope the above clarifies and solve your problem.
unfortunately the first link doesn't help as I can't get into my WM device's OS for it to actively connect through Active Sync.
The device was already unlocked as I had a cooked rom on it before a hard reset (does this matter). I've tried the WM5 and WM6 o2 orbit roms and neither flash...both fail on 5% with FLASH WRITE error.
Please if anyone else can help I'd be greatly appreciative. I've lost my entire phone as it is. My partner has just lost her father (my father in law to be) and we have been staying in constant contact whilst she is away.....I can't do without a phone.
Here's hoping somebody takes pity on me and gives me a hand.
Currently sitting at bootloader...can connect with mtty but no idea what to do with it (password of BsaD5SeoA doesnt work)
Right,
I'm at my bootloader and I also have a non-SDHC microsd card sitting with me with an ARTEIMG.NBH on it...it starts to flash when using it then says "SD FAT failed!!!"
Please help!
Anyone? Dire Straits lives here!!
hi anyone pls help,
i have one imate jasjam, the initial problem is i done a hard reset and the phone reboot and it wont finish running the customise application installation, after that the phone cant detect network, i had run a hard spl into the phone and then try to flash a rom that i download from forum but it only run 11% then stop then i realise that the rom i flash is for htc jasjam not imate jasjam, now my phone can only stay at the boot loader mode, i also try different rom but no luck so i think i ask for your help
here is my device details at the boot loader mode
IPL-1.04
SPL-2.10.01ipro
before i flash it i also cant find any radio rom version in this phone so i guess the radio rom also missing or what just not sure....
i think i flash the htc jasjam wrong model rom even now i flash back the original JASJAM_WWE_1.20.305.3_1.20.305.104_1.07.03.10_ship this error message come out "ERROR [260]: update error" and it ask me to check my usb connection.
i search the forum and few member advice me to use mtty and i did tried that many time it didnt work, another member advice me to use this method "Formate yr memorycard & Unzip attached file in your memorycard named Hermimg.nbh & put yr cell in boot mode & follow screen instructions..........this illl boot yr celll out to boot mode......... " i tried that but the phone always stay at boot mode and no other instructions came out at all so im really lost and just hoping somebody can help me solve this problem...
can anyone pls guide me step by step of how to flash this phone back to normal, your help is much appreciated, many thanks.
Hi, i had the same problem flashing from the SD card. Are you using Vista or Windows7? I tried with Vista Format card, drag and drop renamed image onto sd card. Stuck it in the phone, reset and like you say hangs on bootloader. Then i tried the same thing from my Windows XP laptop, exactly the same format, rename drag and drop and everything works fine. Hope this helps
first i tried with vista then i tried with xp the problem still there, any other idea to solve this problem? thanks anyway for your advice
roms?
G'day, I've only really been reading about roms and these phones for only a few hours but I'm pretty sure that htc jasjam and imate jasjam are one and the same phone i think the said rom are used with all hermes type phones..
thanks and sorry for my ignorance if i'm mistaken
