Active sync problem!!! - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Been using active sync for a while, however I keep getting this message:
"Device timed out"
"support code....."
it's only happening recently.... then when i look at my exec it asks for domain password...? :? the screen is under "user information, and states "Please correct your Exchange Server password"
When i type my code in (which is the same as my device lock password) it syncs fine, but this shouldn't happen...
any ideas...?
(this forum is a god send lol)

O2-NL e-mail settings

I flashed my XDA with the new Dutch O2 ROMs. That went well. I'm now re-installing everything. Question:
What are the e-mail settings I should use. I can read e-mail from my e-mail provider (hetnet.nl), but cannot send e-mails. Probably the SMTP-settings are wrong. Or something? I receive the error "Your message could not be delivered to the following invalid recipients: [email protected]" (e-mail address is correct, of course). I do NOT get the error "SMTP Server could not be found" or something.
Current settings:
POP3
incoming: pop.hetnet.nl
outgoing: smtp.o2.nl (193.113.160.13 also doesn't work)
domain: <empty>
I read on the O2 internet site, that they are working on their e-mail system. Is their SMTP-server down at the moment, or am I doing something wrong????
what's the smtp server from hetnet.nl. I got pop3.versatel.nl & smtp.versatel.nl & it works fine. So why use the smtp.o2.nl???
& Sometimes mail can't be send for some f..g stupid reason & all I get is the invalid recipient message. Well that's a garbage collector cause the same address might gave worked 5 minutes earlier.
So check your hetnet smtp & keep trying.

Has any body tryd imate club email

I've setup i-mate club mail i can access via website no problem,
but when i try to sync with JasJar i keep geting massage "Please correct password".
I have duble check the password and its a correct password is same as the one i use to log in from my main computer. :?
Any help would be grate full.
I've tried it a long time ago and had the same problem. The reason was that my user name was not what I thought it would be:
instead of 'bolasz' it was 'Abolasz'. I don't why but this way it was working.
Give it a go.
Even all details are correct but it ask for correct password, i think i'll contact with i-mate support. Wish me good luck :wink:

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Same problem here...
:?
try username without the @clubimate.com or @yourmailserver.com name
Try this:
-Log in to your account at https://mail.clubimate.com
-Click "Options"
-Scroll down to the bottom of the page, at "Recover Deleted Items" click "View Items"
-A new window will pop up, look at the status bar
See the red square on the attached pic, I found that that is my login name ("Abolasz") though I registered with "bolasz".
I couldn't get hold i-mate support, but my problem is a password related my user name is fine. I'll try to change the password see if that makes any batter.
How do you know?
Because it prompts yu to retype your password? That doesn't mean that your password is wrong. If you would try my string with your pass it would still prompt you for the correct password...
At least give it try what wrote above!
Ok manage to get it working once now its doing same thing again (keep asking for password) :x

E-mail (gmail) on a non standard port?

On my Prophet I would like to use my Gmail next to my Hotmail account. I've enabled POP in my Gmail account and I tried to set it up on the phone. However, Gmail requires usage of port 995 for pop and 465 for smtp. There is no setting for the port on the Prophet. I tried inputting pop.gmail.com:995 and smtp.gmail.com:465 for the servers but that made no difference (it 'connects' but asks me for my login info while 'loggin on...' and yes I've tried it with and without @gmail.com and retyped my password several times).
Does anybody have a work around? Or.. an option I've missed? Or.. an hack to make it possible to use a different port? Or.. a name of an e-mail application that works on Windows Mobile that provides this feature?
Here, this is the way to set up GMail:
In the Server Information, click Option, and in the "Require SSL connection" box, check/enabled that option. Also, below it, check "outgoing mail requires authentication."
With these two enabled, GMail will work fine.
One last thing, you can only select "Get message header only". If you select get entire mail, once you download your mail to your PPC, you cannot download the mail anymore in your desktop via Pop3.
For Wifi connection, I would recommend you specify larger size of header to download, I use the max 999 KB of message body.
For slower connection like GPRS, I set mine to only download 10 KB of message body.
Hope this helps.
That's weird.. I tried what you propose but as I said it would keeps asking me for my login information? Since those are correct I assumed it was due to the fact that I didnt set the right port number anywhere?
Anything I'm overlooking here then?
Not sure what you miss. I will recommend you just delete that mail box and re-create it again. If it does prompt you for login information, I guess there is a chance you typed the wrong pwd.
But it should work fine. You can use your login without the @gmail.com
Does it work for you? On your Prophet?
Here's what I do @ Outlook E-mail:
* Menu | Tools | New account
* Enter e-mail address: flyingd*[email protected]
* Auto configuration (never goes past Download..) --> Next
* Your name: Full Name
Username: flyingd*tchman [or] flyingd*[email protected]
Password: Password (includes one capital)
* Account type: POP3
Name: gmail
* Incoming mail: pop.gmail.com
Outgoing mail: smtp.gmail.com
Domain:
* Options
Connection: The Internet (= T-Mobile GPRS)
Checked SSL connection
Checked outgoing mail requires authentication
* Finish
Then it goes 'connecting' followed by 'loggin on..' and it keeps asking me for my incoming E-mail username and password?
yes, i just verified my config with yours, line per line.
I have also my password saved there, and limit to 10KB header of message to download over the GPRS link.
Um, this is not a free solution, but you can also use Flexmail 2007, which is an excellent client and supports port changing and everything under the sun.
Does everything under the sun include checking for new e-mail say every minute and reporting new e-mail to the 'today' screen?
It can check for new email every minute.
It doesn't have a Today screen plugin which is one of the main faults of the program, I guess. However, it has the ability to stay minimized in the System tray next to the Wifi icon and it has the ability to notify on each new email so I guess it can tell you when you have new email.
I don't check for my mail every minute and usually use it with my Wifi connection so its perfect for me.
But it can do those things which you mentioned

[Q] Pb ActiveSync (password)

Hi there,
I have configured an Outlook Exchange account on my HD2 (WM65). Each time ActiveSync try to synchronize, it ask me for the account password. If i set the password, it fails and ask me again for the password. If i do not set any passwork (leaving the field empty) and click on Finished, the synchronisation starts and it works !
Any idea ?

[Q] Help with Exchange synch & network unlocking

Hi All, I received my GT-I9505 two days ago and have been taking my time trying to set it up ahead of relegating my old S2 to the sidelines. I'm having considerable trouble however with my work Exchange account, and with the Network Unlock Guide from this site. I was hoping to presume for some advice as I'm getting frustrated with my inability to get it working.
- Regarding Exchange. Work uses an SSL certificate that usually prompts most devices that there's something wrong with it, but "accepting all certificates" in the past sorted that. I've no such option on the S4 however, instead I just hit "Continue" when it prompts the error. I've entered the server and domain/login details correctly. It finds the server and the account is in the Email client and under "Settings" -> "Accounts". I worked out how to turn "Master Sync" on but still nothing happens. I'm not getting any popups as I might expect ("Activate device administrator?"). The "Folder Sync Settings" under the account is also empty. If I manually hit Sync it looks like it's synching for a fraction of a second but nothing happens. Trying to display "Show all folders" in the client results in a "Loading" icon with spinny circle indefinitely.
- Regarding unlocking. The guide on this site, and numerous others, explains how to go into Service Mode, enter UMTS Debug Menu and set SHA256 Off before Restoring NV something. I've followed the guide(s) a few times with no luck. Only thing I can think of is that I'm not entering service mode correctly. Screenshots suggest that on the info screen it should display "Service: Available", but even though I open Menu -> Key Input and enter "1", it remains "Service: Limited". When hitting the SH256 off, it says "Unchanged" and [0]. I've tried with an Invalid/locked SIM card and no SIM card, but not with a valid one.
With my sincerest thanks in advance for any help. I've spent ages on it now and I'm getting annoyed with the brand new phone that isn't playing ball.
I'm wondering now if the exchange synch issue is server-side. I'm almost positive that there should be a security "Activation?" pop-up which needs to be accepted, only I'm not getting it.
Two other pieces of possibly relevant information. I'm a domain administrator at work and our Exchange server has a self signed SSL certificate. I'm still googling without luck after 2 days. Any tips or advice would be most welcome.
I have also tried the Service Mode unlock method using a valid, working SIM card, also with no luck.
Still hoping for some advice on this, if any is to be had. Another bit of information which may or may not be useful, the mail server is running Exchange 2010.
