Hey, trying to get connected to my home wifi. Which card (from the selection of the network cards) do I set static IP?
Thanks
On my O2 Mini S
I have used Static IP on card
"SDIO WLAN Wireless ..."
Just Look for the word WLAN or wireless in your list of cards.

I've noticed that my PDA2K has a "tiacxwln Compatible Wireless Ethernet adapter under Network Cards. My K-Jam does not...and because of that, I can't specify a network IP to use at work. Does anyone have a wireless adapter other than the SDIO adapter (which is only used with an SD card)???? If so, how did you get it?
Tom
I probably need some enlightenment here, but why do you need one, connect to my wireless lan without any additional wireless adapters. Also picked up wireless hotspots around town, though not tried to connect.
My work is static only...no DHCP. So, I need to set an IP address for my K-Jam in order to get on the network. Same with my laptop. The PDA2K allows for this while the K-Jam does not because of the lack of a Network Card adapter in the Connection Settings.

I don't get you. The SDIO is the internal Wlan adapter. The first setting you can make is use an IP-adress obtained by DHCP or a static one....

N!co is correct. If you select that SDIO adapter (which is the driver for the internal SDIO wireless hardware) you get the option to enter a static IP etc.
I thought the SDIO was for the SD Wifi Card Adapters that you stick in the SD slot. But, heck, I'll give it a shot. Be back later.

I FEEL STUPID.
That's what I get for listening to a guy that doesn't have one of these...My friend told me the SDIO adapter was for SD wifi cards. WRONG.
Thanks guys!!! That took care of it! I'm now back on the network!! I've only been fighting this issue for 4 days now.
Now, let me ask this, my home wifi is dhcp. Is there a way to switch IP addresses so I can go to both easily? Work static, home dynamic, with the touch of a button???
Thanks,
Tom

thanks for your help..
Have the O2 XDA Exec myself, but the settings should be the same, checked with my Acer N50 to make sure
Leap is blank for me too.
some setting differences betweens yours and mine
neither the NE2000 or tiacswln cards have been touched in anyway, left them as default.
mine is set to connect to 'The Internet'
the key is provided for me automatically is unchecked, I manually typed it in with the key index.
use Ieee 802.1x is unchecked
check the belkin setup page, and see if the XDAIIi is staying connected or it is connecting and disconnecting.
looking at the manual, check the Belkin setup page at Firewall/Client IP Filters and make sure the PDA isn't being blocked there. Also check that the Mac Address Filtering is not enabled, if it is, you will need to add the PDA MAC address into it.
Hi Wytey
Thaks a lot, your configuration works perfectly.

Hi All
I spent 2 days trying to get my xda2 and sandisk wifi card to connect to my network. Finally cracked it.
Ok heres what I did .
Tap
settings
connections
Connections
under my work network
set ,set up my proxy server to "this network connects to the Internet.
Then go to advanced
Under select networrks ,Network management,Set both to "my work network"
Network Card
Network adapters
"My network card connects to work
Then select the network card ie sandisk
tick Use specific ip address
type in 1 thats on your network ,It will connect but you wont be able to browse still
Then soft reboot
change from use static ip adress to "server assigned ip address"
soft reboot
Disable the power saving option also
and bingo
_^.^_
Last time I am using Sandisk wifi +256mb card.
Today, I am stick on bluetooth activesync to get internet connection:
1. No more hassle setting wificard (especially with damn $^$*!#[email protected] driver from sandisk).
2. Bluetooth Use less power than wifi on PPC.
3. No protuding out SD card on PPC.
4. Same coverage range (I use 100m bluetooth dongle).
5. Wifi on public place? I don't think I have a time for it.
Regards,
Arto.
I use 802.11b (Wireless Networking) with a static IP address. I tried to configure the T-Mobile MDA, but was unable to get it to work. I contacted T-Mobile tech sppt and they told me the MDA does not support static IP. On investigation, I found this was wrong, and am posting the solution here in case anyone else hits the problem.
To configure a static IP address go to start / settings / connections / Network Cards / Network Adapters. Select SDIO WLAN Wireless Adapter. Select the IP Address tab. Set the IP address data.
(When you try it, remember to turn WLAN on.)
wow, they gave you a serious misinformation. we've been able to set static network configuration like that for years.
ok heres the deal... i have a MDA flashed with the software from att for the 8125 everything works great except when i turn wifi on, i can connect to the network but cant ever get a page to work. does anyone have any suggestions????? please help
Is this happening on any network or your home network?
Check this... go to Settings - Connections - Network Cards. Make sure the WLAN Adapter is set to connect to the internet. Then tap the WLAN Adapter and make sure IP Address is set to Server Assigned then in Name Servers you don't have anything. If any of these is different, change it to the above.
Yeah. I have the same problem. I have wifi pci asus, the signal is good. I have Lan tru router and now bridged connection. I set the ip, mask and gateway which are in the status of the brudge. And the internet explorer and opera wont load pages.?!??! dns isnt set.
The network adapter is sdio wlan.., and the connection is my work network in connection > connections > advanced >select networks.
i use wm6, nbd 8.0
What could be the problem???
it is home network and all other wifi locations
i know there is a problem with secured networks, especially with wpa encryption. try to remove the encryption and see how it goes....
I have removed all encription. I tried preety much everithing and it doesnt work. All other free wifi networks work just fine, i can surf on internet.
what router do you have? i know that i could not connect to a 3com router with the wizard with any rom i tried.
try using a defined ip address and dns, meaning no dhcp. use a real dns addresses and not the default gateway...
