Hallo to all!!
I'm looking for a T-Mobile MDA but I do not know if is a 900/.. or 800/.. and I would like to use in italy where we have only 800/... network.
I've just read the FAQ section but what do You think about compatibility?
Regards,
Simone
As far as I know Italy is in Europe.
In Europe there are 2 common GSM radio bands: 900MHz and 1800Mhz
The common GSM radio band in the US is 1900MHz
The MDA / XDA (Walaby) supports both 900 & 1800MHZ for sure
The MDAII / XDAII (Himalaya) supports all three bands for sure

i doubt it it's nothing to do with the sim really it's the gsm radio hardware i think which is hardware limited to some frequencys
if they made it custonising then one may be able to change it messing with
pot's and such
otherwise it would require new crystals inside the gsm module
i'm on cingular using my unbranded xda exec and the reception is freakin terrible.. is there a way to enable 850 Mhz support on the phone? i already have upgraded ROM and a 64k Sim but no luck. Please help, i don't want to switch carriers.
extremely sad but extremely true....no 850 on the Universal...grab a TyTN
i don't like the tytn's looks... but the feature set is ok. mebbe i should switch carriers.
Hi, I have a problem with my I9000M running JL2 : voice calls and mobile network aren't working with my videotron sim card!
I guess I need to change the HSPA/UMTS frequecies of the phone from 850/1900/2100 Mhz to Videotron frequencies (1700/2100 MHz --> Band I (2100); Band IV (1700); Band II (1900)
From what I've read in the forums, I have to flash a modem file using Odin in order to change the phone frequencies.
The T-Mobile Vibrant uses 1700/2100 MHz bands... but I'm not sure JL2 has been released in the US, so not sure i can find a compatible modem file...
Well, I'm not too sure how to solve this, if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.
From what I've heard up to now, change the phone's frequencies in that manner is hardly possible...

The i9000m does not have a 1700/2100 antenna, it has a 1900/2100 antenna. The i9000m will not work on Videotron's network. You need the SGH-T959 T-Mobile Vibrant.
I'll try to change the antenna then (to change the hardware) will find the appropriate antenna on ebay or something...I'll keep you posted to let you know if the operation is successful!

I'm interested in buying the redmi note 7 pro but I live in Israel and I'm not sure if the phone supports my network. I did some research and it looks like it should work but I wanted to be sure before I bought it.
Please let me know if the RN7 pro (global/India) will work with the Israeli networks?
What bands are used in Israel?
