How do I perform XDA EXEC Hard Reset? Thank you very much!
there should be a "Clear Storage" app in your Programs folder which does the trick
Thank you very much! It does work.
Please could 'you' tell me how I can switch OFF XDA EXEC? I found I cannot absolutely switch off this toy.
Have you tried "Flight Mode On"? This should turn off the radio and the off switch will power down the PDA funcitons. Also look at this handy app for power off: http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=10093
try reading the manual

Try to make hard reset by pressing the power button and keep holding at the same time push the soft reset button.
hope it will solve your problem.
that is not working.....
Tried many time..
Any other solution plz...
Best Regards,
Wahab
It happened to me one time and worked. Take the battery out from the PPC and charge it in the cardle for sometiem roughly half an hour. Then check again. By the way, you will reset all what you have in your PPC.

Hi There,
I've just bought second hand O2 XDA IIi and I'd like to reset the settings into the default new one or the factory setting.
can anyone tell me how to do it, because when I was using Nokia 6600, pressing *#7370# would restore it settings.
Thanks in advance.
On the XDA II (Not i) all you have to do is hold the power button and push the reset one on the bottom with your stylus.
I don't know if it's the same for the IIi.
Thank It works.
this topic now should be closed :-D
My power button stopt working, so i am sending my device back for RMA but I don't want to sent it with al of my data on it. Is there a way I can hard reset without the power button??
Unplug and plug the battery
If that doesn't work, send me a PM.

If you search in this forum for "hardreset.exe" you'll find a small program which makes the hardreset w/o key. I can't remember where it was.

Or download a shipped-rom from the ftp & extract all files from it. Enterbl.exe should be one of them. Put that one on your magician with Act.Sunc. Execute it from within File Explorer on the magician & your device goes into bootloader (you know dark screen reading serial v1.xx). Now soft-reset & your done.
Cheers, M
Handy Menu Software can do that...!
Tweaks2k2 can hard reset your device too
Thanks to vijay555, who showed me this tool wich also can do a hard reset.

Thanks to all, now i can savely send my magician back.
Hi,
I've managed to kill my Orbit 2! Everytime it starts up it gets as far as the Windows Mobile splash screen then shows the volumn control (both levels turned down) but goes no further. The power button still turns the screen on and off and the screen still dims after a while with any key bringing it back to full brightness, but nothing happens!
Has anyone else had this problem?
Also, I've looked in the forums, but can't find details anywhere of how to hard reset this phone! The only instructions I've found relate to non-existent buttons!
http://www.hardreset.eu/htc_touch_cruise_polaris_hard_reset_soft_reset.html
Can anyone shed any light on why this is happening or how to hard reset!
Thanks in advance,
Nick
it is the bottom two buttons (below the answer & hang up) and the stylus for a soft reset.
When it asks for a confirmation hit the green answer button
Hope this helps
Thanks NC35 - that did the trick!
Luckily I backed it up on Sunday so shouldn't have lost too much!
Thanks
Having tried ( now three times with no help ever) to speak to O2 and ask how to hard reset following the start menu completely failing..... I was told it was "impossible" you will need to return it and use the "28 day" repair service.....
I have at last managed to restore - thanks to this posting!!
No comes the reseting process - which is a bit of a bore!!
O2 seem to have dispensed with any actual tech support at all!!
Dave
The procedure of performing hard reset is perfectly explained in the manual that comes with the phone. "hard reset" is included in the index of this manual, so it takes only a couple of minutes to find out what you have to do.
After all, RTFM ;-)

Hi all,
I have had this bothering be even in the days when I used WinMob 6.5. Anything I have change battery, I will have carry out soft reset from the reset button behind before it powers on.
Can any assist in solving this problem for me?
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
I'm sorry, but I was not able to understand your question.
Are you asking what the soft reset button is for?
