I've got both the JASJAR and the XDA Exec and there is practically no difference in the ROM.
The XDA rom doesn't come with all the i-mate crap such as the 4MB *.tsk files but does come with a very useful task manager.
O2 Active is a pain in the ass but is easily disabled.
Just curious.
because I have a german MDA PRO ... and I'm not a german speaker
Is there any Pocket MSN on Exec? (Just a question, though.. was wondering if Exec users are suffering the same fate as MDA Pro users..)
Yes!
Yes, Pocket MSN is on the Exec
Ah.. I am soo envious! You guys got it cheaper, with all essential apps included. So.. lucky!

Hi,
I have two Wizards here - one is mine and one belongs to a friend of mine (bought it for her here in Holland).
Anyway, she speaks English only and therefore I flashed the ROM with an I-Mate K-Jam rom (the latest WWE_1010903_106_10110_ship from club imate).
Both devices come from T-Mobile Netherlands. They are exact copies apart from the ROM.
Oh, I also disabled the Anti-Virus of the K-Jam and removed Skype.
So... which one works better???
.
.
.
Well, I ran SPB benchmark on both of them and the one with the K-Jam rom gives better results - however they are marginallly better.
In terms of stability and browsing speed - it seems like the K-JAM browses the internet better and quicker and it also didn't crashe while browsing - while the T-Mobile device did crash twice while browsing the net over wifi - this is quite noticable.
So... my bottom line seems to show that the I-Mate K-Jam rom seems a bit better and a tad faster.
I'll continue to play with the phones and let you know if I have any more results...
hi all,
im a newbie so if i offend anyone, i apologise for my innocence. I have purchased the xda mini s. From reading all the forums would you say the k-jam rom is the best out of all the other roms? Do you think its a wise choice to flash the phone to the k-jam for better results?
Thanks
personally I wouldn't. the xda mini s rom has very few if any bugs reported and I have read some posts from people who have flashed to kjam and been disappointed.
(the story for the tmobile rom is not so good though as they seem to have disabled stuff)
Set your Mini S up in BASIC mode and remove the O2 shortcuts from Windows\Startup and you'll have a nice stable device.
Hi in my vario startup there is something called
elatepushservice
sddaemon
zzinstall
what are these? ok to remove?!
hmmm...
Lisa...
RAM total is same with this ROMs? 44MB?
I think are ROMs that have about 50MB RAM total, but I think are old...
I have an MDA Pro currently running the I-Mate JASJAR ROM, I just wondered, how does the Qtec rom compair to this?
I'm tempted to reflash my MDA to remove the I-mate branding.
Thanks,
David.
i have a jasjar and cant imagine anything being worse than the rom that came with or even the update that came out around nov 2005. i am now very happy with the latest xda exec o2 rom (came out end of dec 2005). i have heard that the qtek one is pretty good - there are some discussions in these forums if you hunt around
I had QTEK ROM in Spanish, then just upgraded to the English version (which BTW is older) and it seems to run faster than the spanish one, go figure.
I plan to try the O2 over the weekend.
I've upgraded to the qtec rom, I like its minimal install!
The device seems to run much faster, and apart from the qtec splash screen, the thing really is unbranded!
Hi
I currently have a blackberry on O2. I am looking toupgrade to XDA Exec (o2) or MDA Pro. XDA Exec says its Windows 5 and pushemil.
MDA pro (which seems the same phione as XDA Exec) doesn't. Does this mean that I won't get my exchange emails with MDA Pro.
MDA Pro seems a good bet as it has the unlimited walk and surf tarif. O2 data on the otherhand is expensive.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Joe
T-Mobile are yet to release the ROM upgrade which enables support of push e-mail. I have the XDA myself, but I believe it is possible to the iMate or QTek rom with the MDA. Have a search through the forum.
sorry if a repeated question.
do you guys think i can use Hermes to benefit from X-Series gold package from three?
Many thanks in advance
Sunil
Doubt it.
I use my SPV 3100 unlocked from Orange on my 3 UK contract.
Im guessing that 3 will probably have their own customised versions of the software provided with x-series. This software will require the valid certificates to be installed on your device which I cannot find for pocket pc. I do however have them for Symbian UIQ OS if theirs any hackers out there that may be willing to try......
Shame, the thought of using Skype on 3G for nothing and MSN Messenger is quite nice....

Hello dear friends...
i need some real good Battery-Plugin for my Magician. On my Wizard i use Battery-Status, buts thats only for WM5. Now i´m looking for such a good BattryPlugin and the O2 Batteryinfo looks like that.
If anyone could send me the Batteryinfo.dll i wuold be very happy.... Thanks so far
Now i don´t need the batteryinfo.dll anymore. I flashed my MDA with the O2 ROM and now got the fine Batteryplugin...
