Email send & receive really slow on T-Mobile/BT Internet - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

I've got an MDA Compact, which I've set up to check my BT Internet email. However, it takes an age to check for mail.. My GPRS is working perfectly as I can browse the web without any problems. It can take several minutes to check for mail or send it.. I've spoken to some friends with the same handset but with different mail providers & it takes approx 30 secs for a mail check.
Any ideas???
Thanks

As an update, I downloaded the trial version of ProfiMail, installed it & when I ask it to check for mail, it's basically instant.. So the problem lies with the email client on the MDA. I have deleted the account I had set up & started again. It takes approximately 3 minutes to check for mail...

e-mail help please

OK had my baby nearly a week now (1 week old Saturday).
I'd say definately well worth the outlay.
My e-mail is bugging me though.
Firstly, I have configured her to check for e-mails every 60 mins. Well it just ain't happening. I reckon she checks for my e-mails 2-3 times a day max. Of course I can go in at anytime and connect but, I want it to be automatic.
Secondly, my homermail wav file (e-mail notification works fine on SPV and xda 1) don't work all the time ? it plays sometimes but not all the time.
Lasty, when the server does check for mail, if I have cleared my pop3 account, through my pc then the nect check it downloads nothing and clears out all my e-mails, even if they are unread.
It's like if there is nothing on the server, it cleans my inbox on my xda 2.
I can understand why it happens but surely there are settings to prevent it (i can't find em). I like to keep some e-mails in my inbox, cus they can be useful. Sure they are on my pc but I want em locally and I don't want to sync my emails just my calender and tasks.
Cheers, Shire
PS still luv my baby, maybes I need a better e-mail application ?

Only 1 out of my 2 email accts retrieves new email messages?

Hello guys,
Currently I have an HP Ipag h6315 running Windows Mobile 2003. I have setup 2 emails account on my PDA ( Gmail & Bellsouth ).
I set both accounts to connect and retreive new messages every 2 minutes; however, only the account "checked" under ACCOUNTS will be the one that connects and retreive the email messages.
Shouldn't both accounts connect every 2 minutes and get new messages?
for example:
- If i go to inbox, it'll default to the inbox of whatever account i have checked under "accounts". if i check bellsouth, i'm able to see my messages from my bellsouth email address; however, after i close it and go back to the today screen, then only "Bellsouth" will connect and get new emails every 2 minutes.
- If i want Gmail to be the one to connect the every 2 minutes then i would have to go to inbox and check Gmail in order to gmail to be the one to connect every 2 minutes.
I dont know if that's the way its supposed to be, since i have set the option to connect every 2 minutes on both accts.
If anyone knows of this issue and happens to have a solution for it, i really appreciate it. Or perhaps is just a non-fixed bug.
thank you in advance,
Will V.
Unfortunately I think it's a bug in the Universal. I've been dealing with this problem since I got my Universal several months ago. Originally I thought it was a Windows Mobile 2005 problem, but I've had confirmation from several Wizard users (which is also WM2005) that their devices will check multiple accounts automatically.
For the time being I've gotten used to making sure my universal is always on my most important account and simply switching to my other account and manually checking it periodically. I'm hoping that this will be fixed in the next ROM upgrade.

Same problem for me in my Qtek 9000. Only the "active" account cheks mail automatically, no the others accounts. I´m asking for the solution in several forums but no possible. I think is a problem on WM5.
Actually it might be a problem with both WM3 (what i'm using) and WM5 (what you guys are using) kind of sucks to be having to switch in between accts in order get your new messages... if that's the case, that's a quality that the blackberrys will always outperformed the Windows mobile devices.
I'm sorry Will, I misread your first message. I believe it's a known issue in WM2003... it was supposed to be fixed in Wm2005, but there are still problems with the universal, at least.
Brett
I have the same issue.
Its a Pocket Outlook issue, as when I bought and switched to WebIS Mail, there wasnt an issue anymore. Works like a dream, no issues w/ it EVER and wil try to use wifi instead of gprs if you are on a wireless network, giving you a good speed burst w/ the universal...
Still on Pocket Outlook...is it possible to have a 'replay to' address specified for an e-mail account?
I can see that webIS Mail has the opiton but couldn't find it on Outlook.
thanks,

Cingular Direct Push Email

Recently I added direct push service from cingular. What I understand of this "Direct Push" is that it's real time email service using GPRS(for cingular) to connect to the mail server and MS Exchange must be installed at the server. Ok cool.
It works , sort of. But it's not real time! the email comes about couple mins late. Is this normal?
And what do you recommend for an email program? (besides Flexmail, I don't like it)
Thank you
Rom:Updated-aku-3 Roms V2 3.3.0.0 (4mb page pool)
The service does work, per se. It should come in real-time yes (1-2 seconds). The server load is probably high or your devices keeps disconnecting/reconnecting its data connection. It can be many factors. Why dont you get free push from port88.org? its free and you get your emails within a few seconds. I like it.
Hi
if ur using MS Exchange direct push than the best client for it poutlook..
where ur email, sms, mms & other accounts are in single tree..
with single shortcut button.................

Push email setup..

Hi
I want to set my THD with Push email rather than the usual send/receive.
But I have a personal email domain hosted by 1&1.com, and when I go to my admin, I can either purchase a Microsoft Exchange license or a 1&1 MailXchange, and both seem to be major collaboration tools for teams of people. I only want for Push for me using my current @arjayweb.net domain. Are there any cheaper options?
My main reason for wanting Push is that I can I currently send/receive every 15 mins, but I've found too many times that emails haven't come through. Sometimes I can watch the 'connecting..' status line and see it go to 'Looking for changes' and then disconnect, but if I manually hit send/receive again, emails come through. If I can solve this, no need for Push..
Any ideas?

i've been using 1&1's Exchange Mail for over a year and am very satisfied with the service. i'm using the Exchange service to push my MSN email, it also allows me to use my MSN account as an alias (e.g., sending/receiving using a different email address). although i haven't searched in great detail, i haven't found a hosted Exchange service that provides the features i want (aliased emails, notes, calendar & task synching), 1 GB of space, push mail, ActiveSync, webmail, etc.
Thanks Cortez - couple of questions though:
- I only want my email to be pushed. Don't need synchronising of any other bits. Did you ever find a service that does just that?
- why do you need Activesynch if you have push?
JonPickles70 - one for you too:
-Not sure if you actually have your send/receive set to every 5 mins, but do you find it always manages to connect and download new mails each time it attempts? Like I said before, I have a problem that my phone attempts to connect every 15 mins, but doesn't list any new messages, but when I manually kick-off, new emails come through. Do you (anyone else?) have this problem
Thanks
