How do I revert back to MDA PRO from I-Mate Jasjar? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

It seems that I can't make 3G call anymore after flashing it with I-Mate Jasjar's rom.
Is there in anyway to revert back to the MDA Pro?

I went to the wiki for Universal earlier and it seems no-one has uploaded the flashing-upgrade file for t-mob yet.
I can upload the ext-rom from my MDA pro for you if needed, but I suspect there's more to it than running a few .cab's.
Joe

Thanks Joe (^__^)
I just figured out how to make 3G calls work..
Settings>Connections>Advanced
and set up the 3G connection (just take the gprs connection username (user) and password (one2one))
and it should work (3g i mean )

It's definitely one of the i-mate cab's that enables 3G calls.
I hard reset my JasJar, and hit the soft reset button before ANY cab's installed and my video call option disappeared...
I hard reset it again, and let the first two cab files install before hitting the soft reset button, and video calling was back again (along with the i-mate skin for the phone dialler, and the SmartDialler app) can't remember what the cab's were called, but one of the first two that are installed after a hard reset on the JasJar is definitely the one that enables video calls.

Tmobile GPRS with XDAII

I have gotten a XDAII and have it setup and working, however the gprs only connects when needed and won't stay permantley on. Has anyone else found this to be true, or is there a way to make it stay connected?
you have an o2 XDA II or an Imate or a MDA II?

I dont have any other known answer to that to fix it but there's a program on PocketGear.com called GPRS Keep Alive. $2.45 to buy it and there's a trial too so give it a try.
Her's the link incase you want it:
http://pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=12673
But if you guys have alternate fix let us know, pls.
Here's a solution I've done to my XDA II with T-Mobile GPRS problem. I don't know who came up with this solution, but thanks to my friend who suggested this at PDAMobiz.com.
1. After a hardreset and completing the initial screen alignment, interrupt the auto-installation process by softreset your XDA II (you have 3 seconds before the files in Extended_ROM will automatically install).
2. Make your Extended_ROM viewable, whether by using the Extended ROM Viewer from http://www.ppcw.net or Extended ROM Switcher (sorry I forgot the link).
3. Now, install each cab files, except TMD_AP_NL.sa.CAB. In fact, I also disregarded, Caller ID, and some other TMD stuff.
As a result, the GPRS is now always-on as it should be.
Cheers,

GPRS CONNECTION

Hello everybody.
I have a Qtek S110 and my question has to be with GPRS connection or let say disconnection..
I don´t know how I have to do to stop the GPRS connection. The only way I have found is activating the fly mode, then disactivating it (plus enter pin code, plus...).
Does anybody know the right (and quick) way to do it?
Thanks a lot !! (sure that it´s a very simple question, but after 1 month using it, this is my most important doubt).
simply press and hold the disconnect button for 2 or 3 seconds and that should solve your problem.
Thanks for the reply but this doesn´t do anything.
Any other idea??
I never used the small program by Ampda, but maybe will try it out if and when I need to do a hard reset. I use a small program called GB-Soft Tweak.
check out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=33305.
the trick of holding the disconenct button for 3-5 seconds works, but only from the today screen. and obviously, if there is any program running in the background that uses GPRS (like the blackberry connect i use on my t-mobile uk compact) it will just start up again.

T-Mobile MDA - Hack for WiFi "Auto On" at Reboot?

One thing I HATE about my MDA is that the WiFi is turned off after a soft reset. Does anyone know a hack, or other way, to set the WiFi to automatically turn on after a soft reset?
Thanks!
Hack to Enable WiFi after reboot
Did you ever find an answer to this frustrating problem?
What's an MDA? (Eg HTC Universal?)
Try VJVolubilis. There's also files in your extended rom to do it.

you have to make a link to '/extended_rom/WifiTempOn.exe' in 'windows/startup'
it's working with my MDA
@vijay555 T-Mobile MDA Vario is a HTC Wizard
edit: i thougt there is a registry hack also for this problem, somewhere
There is a reghack, IIRC you set the HTCResumeWifiAfterReset value in HKLM\Comm\TNETWLN1\Params to 1. Also, set HTCPreloadWiFi in the same key to 1.
The reghack is here somewhere -- I set it many months ago, so the above is from a quick look at my registry.

TMobile Internet Settings

I have an unlocked Cingular 8125 that I am using on TMobile. I can't seem to figure out how to get my Data plan working on it. Can anyone explain what settings I need to change, i.e GPRS and MMS. Thanks.
For GPRS/EDGE setting in T-MO USA do the following:
Press start then go to settings then connections and then connections.
Then add new modem connection
Under select a modem pick cellular line. then click next.
Under phone number insert internet2.voicestream.com
no no no......internet2 will only cause problems later on.....here just do the following....
Hard Reset your device after which before it starts installing all of the cingular customization quickly soft reset (This is where it sayd installing applications in 3...2...1..)
After you soft reset just install the files in the order I have them listed saving the registry cab for the end. Once you have done all this press and hold the power button until it says "data loss can occur...blah blah balh" hit OK and the unit will switch off. When it switches off count 3 and just press the power buton one time to turn the unit back on.
You should be in the clear now.

What do you mean internet2 will cause problems later on? I used to use internet3 here in New York, then all of a sudden I could not connect to the internet using the GPRS unless I was in say Washington, DC. Upon on reading something in a chatroom regarding various settings, I saw the internet2 specified, and switched the official tmobile cab set network obtained from club imate from internet3 to internet2 and it has worked ever since. But I have noticed when traveling up and down the Eastern Seaboard that I do have to change the setting.
wap.voicestream.com is T-Mobile's main data line....from there you get to hop onto internet2 or internet3. It is best to have it set to wap.voicestream.com as you would benefit from this the most.
The reason why I said it would cause problems later on is that what if T-Mobile changes something or applies some changes (like reserving internet3 only for VPN customers) then you would be effected by this change.....so it's better to leave somethings default but tweak the hell out of the rest of th deivce!
A note about internet3....this is reserved specifically for those indivduals who have added VPN access to their accounts...you know the plan that allows you to use VPN access i think it's an additional 5$-10$ more per month....
you are probably right about the wap.voicestream.com I just posted what works for me. thanks for the cab, i will probably use it after i do a future rom upgrade.

any specific area i should install this on the phone? folders? thanks.
1. Download the file
2. Unzip the file
3. Right click the folder just before you see the files and make it "Read Only"
4. Transfer to device (I personally like keeping them on a storage card)
5. Open File Explorer and install one by one
a. Tap on file
b. Leave default setting of installing to Device
c. Tap Install
d. Tap OK (top right corner after successful install)
e. Repeat a-e for all cab files
6. Press and hold down power button until data loss message box comes up
7. Tap OK (unit will now power-off)
8. Power unit back on....enjoy life....
Although I must say you should consider flashing your device with the iMate 2.16 ROM....I have it running and I'm loving it! If you don't need it at least consider flashing your device with the original T-Mobile ROM available here. What's the point of doing either...
iMate - Faster, included Java support, AKU2 (MS Security/Push Technology)
T-Mobile Original - Other than physical appearance your device will function just like a stock T-Mobile MDA
i have the latested tmobile rom, can i just flash the iMate 2.16 ROM? what else do i need?
hi, i just updated my o2 mini s to the new rom from o2 uk.. ive been able to conect to tzones before.. now i cant.. PIE will stay at Locating before popping up an error message.. anything i can do to fix it? or get my tzones working again? thank you
the same for Cingular 8525 for t-mobile US
Will the t-mobile file in the previous message install t-mobile settings to work on an unlocked Cingular 8525? If not, does anyone have the settings? I could not get the ones at t-mobiles US or UK site to work. I will be brave and install while in Windows Mobile 5 (against my better judgememt)
Thanks!
FYI:
I did not hard reset it but simply installed the files in the order within the zip. I did get a waring on the registry edits.cab about being designed for an earlier version of windows. Anyway, I did the Power + OK button reset. Upon loggin, the HotSpot Login shows in the Connections and I was successfully able to send a MMS message my gmail account!
Thanks
I'm happy and relieved to say that this still works. I just updated my cingular 8125 with t-mobile service. Thanks lvlol!

Ok, i think im getting this, i also like everyone else here has a 8125 with T-Mobile. But i cant access the itnerent or send MMS.
So dose this mean i have to flash my cell phone with either the iMate or hte toehr MDA rom?
if i do will all hte wifi and all hte drivers work still like bluetooth and such?
t mobile settings
alright everyone, if you have the 5.99 tzones, 1. enter wap.voicestream.com in the apn info, 2. make sure you set the PROXY: 215.155.165.50 port 8080 for http and default ports for the rest, 3. make sure you change the default Internet connection to the one with the proxy under connections/advanced/select networks. and for email with the tzones you have to change the settings for your email to connect with the proxy connection or every time it checks email it'll disconnect and reconnect, and then you'll have to disconnect and reconnect to surf the web.
now for the full internet plan you dont need the proxy, the internet2 and 3 are for the blackberry plan and vpn plan if memory serves me correctly.
Nice thread!
Just used to configure a 8125 that I got of Craigslist yesterday, everything is working now on T-Mobile MMS SMS and internet.

v1605 Video Phone Not There

Hi guys
I've just received my third v1605 from Vodafone (1st backlight broke on screen replaced under warranty, 2nd got run over by a car ) in three months. The latest one came with a new sim as my old one was destroyed in the accident. I've had the SIM activated and all my old settings reinstated from what I can tell.
I've got access to 3g so can access my ISP email and the web. I can make voice calls and send/receive SMS. One thing that is different to the previous two phones of this model I've had is the video calling function. The button is on the faceplate as before but when pressed it only opens a voice softphone screen. The software phone has no option at all for video calling. It looks like a completely different phone app to previously, certainly not the one shown in the manual. I've spoken to VF customer services who haven't a clue to be honest, although they do say there are 3g problems in the London area which may be the problem. (I can use 3g data services no problem and connect with HSDPA from what I can see (H Icon))
Any thoughts on how I can reinstate the correct software phone?
ROM version 2.07.161.1
ROM Date 02.06.07
Radio Version 1.32.00.00
Protocol Version 32.65.7020.09H
Model No HERM200
Cheers for any help you can offer.
Charles
Welcome to the forum.
I don't use the video function, but do have the same phone version (with vodafone) as you. One thing I do remember when playing with the phone when new is that if you hard reset, then soft reset to disable the vodafone customisations then you do lose the video functionality.
So, if yours is the stock vodafone rom you may need to hard reset to get back the video call function.
If it is stock rom but without the vodafone customisations you won't get video call function.
If it's the stock rom maybe you should try a hard reset - it might bring back the function - BUT make sure you back up all your data first because it'll be erased with the reset.
Also, if you are still using the stock vodafone rom, why not try one of the wm6 roms from this forum (I think Schaps 3.54 is one of the best). But before you do, please read lots (the stickies on these forums) especially about CID/SIM unlocking and olipro-2.10 before you start. A good place to start is mrvanx's guide.
Hope this helps a bit.
Cheers ach2. I'll investigate as you suggest.
