TMobile Internet Settings - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

I have an unlocked Cingular 8125 that I am using on TMobile. I can't seem to figure out how to get my Data plan working on it. Can anyone explain what settings I need to change, i.e GPRS and MMS. Thanks.

For GPRS/EDGE setting in T-MO USA do the following:
Press start then go to settings then connections and then connections.
Then add new modem connection
Under select a modem pick cellular line. then click next.
Under phone number insert internet2.voicestream.com

no no no......internet2 will only cause problems later on.....here just do the following....
Hard Reset your device after which before it starts installing all of the cingular customization quickly soft reset (This is where it sayd installing applications in 3...2...1..)
After you soft reset just install the files in the order I have them listed saving the registry cab for the end. Once you have done all this press and hold the power button until it says "data loss can occur...blah blah balh" hit OK and the unit will switch off. When it switches off count 3 and just press the power buton one time to turn the unit back on.
You should be in the clear now.

What do you mean internet2 will cause problems later on? I used to use internet3 here in New York, then all of a sudden I could not connect to the internet using the GPRS unless I was in say Washington, DC. Upon on reading something in a chatroom regarding various settings, I saw the internet2 specified, and switched the official tmobile cab set network obtained from club imate from internet3 to internet2 and it has worked ever since. But I have noticed when traveling up and down the Eastern Seaboard that I do have to change the setting.

wap.voicestream.com is T-Mobile's main data line....from there you get to hop onto internet2 or internet3. It is best to have it set to wap.voicestream.com as you would benefit from this the most.
The reason why I said it would cause problems later on is that what if T-Mobile changes something or applies some changes (like reserving internet3 only for VPN customers) then you would be effected by this change.....so it's better to leave somethings default but tweak the hell out of the rest of th deivce!
A note about internet3....this is reserved specifically for those indivduals who have added VPN access to their accounts...you know the plan that allows you to use VPN access i think it's an additional 5$-10$ more per month....

you are probably right about the wap.voicestream.com I just posted what works for me. thanks for the cab, i will probably use it after i do a future rom upgrade.

any specific area i should install this on the phone? folders? thanks.

1. Download the file
2. Unzip the file
3. Right click the folder just before you see the files and make it "Read Only"
4. Transfer to device (I personally like keeping them on a storage card)
5. Open File Explorer and install one by one
a. Tap on file
b. Leave default setting of installing to Device
c. Tap Install
d. Tap OK (top right corner after successful install)
e. Repeat a-e for all cab files
6. Press and hold down power button until data loss message box comes up
7. Tap OK (unit will now power-off)
8. Power unit back on....enjoy life....
Although I must say you should consider flashing your device with the iMate 2.16 ROM....I have it running and I'm loving it! If you don't need it at least consider flashing your device with the original T-Mobile ROM available here. What's the point of doing either...
iMate - Faster, included Java support, AKU2 (MS Security/Push Technology)
T-Mobile Original - Other than physical appearance your device will function just like a stock T-Mobile MDA

i have the latested tmobile rom, can i just flash the iMate 2.16 ROM? what else do i need?

hi, i just updated my o2 mini s to the new rom from o2 uk.. ive been able to conect to tzones before.. now i cant.. PIE will stay at Locating before popping up an error message.. anything i can do to fix it? or get my tzones working again? thank you

the same for Cingular 8525 for t-mobile US
Will the t-mobile file in the previous message install t-mobile settings to work on an unlocked Cingular 8525? If not, does anyone have the settings? I could not get the ones at t-mobiles US or UK site to work. I will be brave and install while in Windows Mobile 5 (against my better judgememt)
Thanks!
FYI:
I did not hard reset it but simply installed the files in the order within the zip. I did get a waring on the registry edits.cab about being designed for an earlier version of windows. Anyway, I did the Power + OK button reset. Upon loggin, the HotSpot Login shows in the Connections and I was successfully able to send a MMS message my gmail account!

Thanks
I'm happy and relieved to say that this still works. I just updated my cingular 8125 with t-mobile service. Thanks lvlol!

Sorry if this is a horrible question but...
When trying to flash my 8125 I'm receiving an invalid vendor ID message and I'm told the updater can not update my device.

Ok, i think im getting this, i also like everyone else here has a 8125 with T-Mobile. But i cant access the itnerent or send MMS.
So dose this mean i have to flash my cell phone with either the iMate or hte toehr MDA rom?
if i do will all hte wifi and all hte drivers work still like bluetooth and such?

t mobile settings
alright everyone, if you have the 5.99 tzones, 1. enter wap.voicestream.com in the apn info, 2. make sure you set the PROXY: 215.155.165.50 port 8080 for http and default ports for the rest, 3. make sure you change the default Internet connection to the one with the proxy under connections/advanced/select networks. and for email with the tzones you have to change the settings for your email to connect with the proxy connection or every time it checks email it'll disconnect and reconnect, and then you'll have to disconnect and reconnect to surf the web.
now for the full internet plan you dont need the proxy, the internet2 and 3 are for the blackberry plan and vpn plan if memory serves me correctly.

Nice thread!
Just used to configure a 8125 that I got of Craigslist yesterday, everything is working now on T-Mobile MMS SMS and internet.

Setting up O2 XDA to work on Orange - HELP PLEASE!

Right - I've just spent half the day trying to configure my Unlocked XDA2 for the Orange network.
Making and taking calls - fine.
Sending and receiving texts - fine.
SMS, MMS, WAP, The Internet, Pass-thru activesync etc - you ARE joking aren't you!
I've follwed various Smartphone based help posts, but alas they are little use, as the Pocket PC is a very different beast, and even knowing the settings doesn't help, if you don't know where to put them etc (the XDA is totally different for setting up compared to a Smartphone).
So PLEASE - can someone, in plain english, simple step by step settings, help me get my XDA to fully work for all things, on the Orange Network please..?
Also, is there any easy way to get rid of the O2 Custimisation, and just have a standard Pocket PC theme?
o2 stuff if you mean on the today screen can be changed under settings and today screen there you can disable stuff you dont want there
if you mean in programs then you just delete programs you dont want in uninstall or in \windows\star menu\
about orange settings then i recommend you ask orange
since they sell the xda2 under the name SPV M1000
and since no operator have all that special ways of handling all that stuff
all you need is the info of what orange use
sms is a number in the settings which need to be set
most cellphone companys i know off auto adjust this though not sure about orange
MMS, WAP, The Internet(gprs)
you setup under settings\connections\connections and add the interfaces and enter the access points orange use
Pass-thru activesync
is something you activate on the pc in activesyncs options
I rang Orange, who put me through to Fax and Data, who in turn put me through to the ever so helpful Mandy in Level 3 Support, who rang me back on my home number, and spent the next twenty minutes helping me set it up.
It helped immensely however, that I had already fiddled on and created some of the stuff needed.
So far, I have yet to figure out how to get it to use my ActiveSync pass thru however, as it insists on making a GPRS connection, when in the cradle.
I have also not got it to Sync via Bluetooth yet.
And two curious things.
Despite my numbers being in a format +44 7736 111 111 (made that up), when I go to send an SMS, and use the contacts function to locate the number, it instead inserts it into the To Field, with the preceding + dropped off, and thus it wont send.
Lastly, despite being a new XDA2, its a US ROM version, and only radio version 1.05 - handy, in that it meant I could unlock it straight away, but curious, as a European market, that I receive a USA ROM - maybe its to do with the UK shortage.
But does anyone know how I set it up for a Pass-thru, and also how, or why, it drops the prefix + symbol from sending SMS, and thus causes it to fail unless I manually insert a +
Cheers.
about the +44 thing then make sure you have chosen the right country in settings that solve such issues most of the time
about pass though then now we are talking home and internet
it got some setting where you can choose if you are connected to home as in bluetooth usb or wifi or the internet if it think it's on the inetnet it will always use the grps

PLEASE HELP me with my MMS setting

In the last 3 weeks since I got my Dopod 818pro, I've spent an obscene amount of time trying to setup the MMS system. I am using T-mobile USA with the most basic voice plan (no internet or wireless plan). T mobile keeps claiming I should be able to send picture messaging with the correct settings. I have read multiple forums (including this forum everyday), going through more settings than I can remember, exhausted T mobile's technical team, and all I get is the "Unable to send message. It will remain in your inbox" message. Even the tech team from tmobile is suggesting that I have a faulty system. So before I give up and deem this unit faulty, maybe someone here can tell me what I'm doing wrong or give suggestions as to a step by step setup, I will be forever grateful. Here's what I've tried:
- I tried the whole wap.voicestream.com setting in "connections", then using the "216.155.165.50 then http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms" as suggested by t mobile - still doesn't work.
- What I have been successful in getting is text messages, but I assume that's not even in the same category as MMS. In fact, I had someone try to send pics to me, and didn't get it at all.
So my questions are:
1) Is anyone using a port other than 9201 for MMS?
2) Is there any settings in this Asian origin phone that may interfere with it working in the US?
3) My Arcsoft MMS Composer version is 3.xx something, but I've seen other WM5 units (like the Apache) that carries a 2.xx version. Is there any incompatibility issue with 3.xx and WM5 that anyone knows of? If so, does anyone know where I can get an older version of MMS Composer? (I think even the t mobile tech people said they're only familiar with 2.xx version)
4) Which arcsoft MMS composer version does the Jamin have (I assume it should be identical to my dopod 818pro, but worth asking.
5) Should I just pay for the internet plan to see if there's an account issue, and not a software/hardware issue?
6) If the phone and txt messages are fine, should I assume it's not a hardware issue, but rather a WM5/software problem?
7) If anyone has a cab file for TMobile USA or direct me to one I'll appreciate it. (I did do a search on this, but the link directed me to a UK setting cab. file, not a US one).
8) There's an icon in the Settings/Connections screen. Other han the Connections icon, there is a GPRS Setting icon. When I click on it, it allows me to choose PAP authentication or CHAP authenication. Does anyone know which should be checked for T mobile in the US? (none of the tmobile techs know what this is).
9) Finally, has anyone been successful using a dopod 818pro (jamin for that matter), to send mms through t mobile USA. Am I alone here?
I want to thank you for any input whatsoever. I want to try everything before I send this back for exchange.
I have a JAMin on TMO USA. The ARC Soft composer version is 3.0.7.19. The JAMin is the first iMate device that has had flawless MMS operation for me. Other devices have been iffy at best. And it definitely isn't a network issue since MMS on my Treo 650 was always perfect. I guess I don't see how you can even do MMS without a data plan since you need to access the internet at the wap.voicestream.com web site. I didn't know that one could do that with just a voice plan. If that is OK then I would be sure that your MMS is using the wap connection not the GPRS connection based on internet2.voicestream.com.
Anyway below are my TMO USA GPRS/MMS Settings which work on the JAMin. If these don't work I would definitely request a new device.

Thanks so much for responding. I tried all your steps to a tee (BTW, very thorough instructions, much more so than TMo techs). Still doesn't work. My MMS composer version is 3.0.7.17 vs your 19. You don't suppose that much was upgraded b/w these versions, do you? How did you get these settings anyway? Did Tmobile send it to you, or did you set it up yourself. BTW, do you have the 19.99 plan or the 29.99 plan? I'm just trying to figure it if I should just shell out money for the internet plan just to try out the MMS capability. Damn, really don't want to send this back to Expansys.
I have had the $19.99 unlimited data plan for quite a while now and I don't know anything about the $29.99 plan. These settings are those that I have always used on PPCs such as the Torq 100, PDA2K, JAM, KJAM and now the JAMin and came from trial and error mostly with suggestions from others on here and other forums. I am sure that they are correct.
I really don't use MMS that much and since I have had so much trouble in the past with it trying to send pictures I usually just send them via email attachments using Messaging. That always works and is also free.
I really think that your problem is not having a data plan and I am surprised that the TMO techs didn't mention that. Look at the MMS connection settings - you need to access the Cellular Line (GPRS) - this is a data conection, not voice, and as I said before you need to access the wap web site on the interne for MMS. You can always try the data plan for a day or so and cancel it if it doesn't work but I think that is your problem. I would have all the GPRS settings in place and then have a TMO CSR activate the data plan. You can then test it immediately while the CSR is still on the line by running Pocket Explorer and accessing a web site. If that works then I would try MMS again.
I also hate to send stuff back so hopefully it will work with a data plan,
Frank
I think getting the internet plan is the next step before I send it back. The way the tech explained it to me about using the phone line to do MMS. He said that the setting they gave us (servelets/mms, etc) is kind of a backdoor to the GPRS. Some techs did claim they were successful setting it up the Jasjar (maybe they all neglected to note what kind of plan all these wm5 users have). Does your phone have that GPRS authentication thing? Still can't figure out what it is.
Mine is set to PAP by default. Maybe the techs are right about not needing a data plan. I have just always had one when using MMS so haven't tried it without one. I pay for each individual MMS message - $.10 each I think.

I did change WAP ver. from 2.0 to 1.2 to make it work.
And also make sure your MMS connects to wap.voicestream.com not internet2.voicestream.com nor internet3.voicestream.com
I have MMS working on T-mobile w/iMate XDA 2, Dopod 818, iPaq 6515, and Dopod 818 Pro.
Staroip, which T mobile plan do you have? Are you paying anything extra other than the voiceplan?
I have family plan w/ 4 lines. Currently, the line my Dopod 818 pro uses has $19.99 unlimited GPRS (which is not offered anymore). T-mobile has "Total Internet Access" for $29.99 as add-on that comes with unlimiter GPRS/Edge and HotSpot.
My old dopod 818 (aka iMate JAM) is on the line w/o any data plan add-on now but used to have $19.99 unlimited VPN plan. MMS is working fine on those device now.
Have you done the trick for SD card problem, such as not allowing ext-rom installation? Usually, there is MMS patch cab need to be installed in order for MMS to be working.
BTW, on my connection "wap.voicestream.com", I don't use proxy setting.
Is your Dopod 818 pro WWE version or TC version?
Now you're scarying me about the Jam being able to do MMS without any plans. I did do the Sd card thing, but I did launch the MMS cab file. Either way, this wasn't working even before I hard resetted and excluded the ext rom2. This is the WWE version. You think it makes a difference? Now I really have to talk to T mobile soon.
Most camera phones (not PDA) can use MMS w/o data plan.
Here is T-Mobile Wireless Data Configurator
http://tmobileus.wdsglobal.com/phon...aptchaEnabled=true&manufacturerId=41&phoneId=
W/O a data plan, your wap.voicestream.com is still open for MMS even though you cannot browse web sites.
You may find some answers there.

I think I'm going to give up now. I just sign up for the internet plan for 29.99. I was able to surf the web. But guess what, still can't do MMS. Almost hilarious. BTW, you don't think I'm doing something stupid like not composing the MMS message correctly, do you? I just launch MMS, create new, attach a picture, then hit send, right? The send address is always the 10 digit phone number, including area code, right? No country code?
The MMS send address can also be an email address - try that. If not, I don't know what else to suggest. As I told you before MS was always flaky for me on everything expect the Treo 650 and JAMin. Sometimes it would appear to work and never show up at the destination. Or take several hours to show up. Sometimes on receive a message would appear to download successfully but I could never display it. These are also problems reported by others. I always felt lucky when it did work and none of us ever knew what was wrong - not settings or network so we had to conclude that the ArcSoft MMS client must be glitchy.

OK, here's the latest update. (I'm spending way too much time on this). As a last attempt, I put my sims card into an old sony erricson T68i phone. I was able to send messages, but when I tried to download the picture, it says some error with the network. So I speculated that it may be the SIMS card afterall. I called up tmobile, and they said some of their older SIMS card may not know how to handle MMS. She suggested I go to the Tmobile store to get a new card. Went there, tmobile gave me a free new card, now I'm able to receive pic messages (which I'm pretty sure I was never able to do with the old SIMS), but I still can't send them out. The kicker is, if I pop the sims card into the t68i, I'm able to create and send messages, and the message even goes into the t68i's inbox, but I still can't download it. Then if I take the same card, put it in my dopod, now the dopod can download and view it. WTF? Should I just send it back? This is too frustrating.
For those who tried to help me, here's the latest update. After trying everything with no success, I was about to send it back to expansys, so I figured I'll try it one more time after I hard reset the device. I plugged the settings in, sent the pic... Guess what, IT WORKED. I don't have the slightest clue as to why. Don't know if the reset reconfigured the SIMS, whatever it is, it worked (even after I restored my backup (so I don't think it was a software incompatibility issue either). All I know is, now I'm ecstatic. All I need to do now is figure out what I'm going to do with picture messaging now that I have it. Again, thank you so much for those of you who tried to help. This is the greatest forum.

Can you point a link to the download that you mention in the FAQ.
I have the updated ROM but unable to get the GPRS working for T-Mobile USA. Many thanks in advance.
alright i got my GPRS back up and running.
i just added a new connection, called it T-MOBLE GPRS and set the access point to internet2.voicestream.com.
most people on this forum mention how this particular ROM seems to run faster, but i havent really noticed any performance increases yet
Possible help GPRS, etc
This might be of benefit to some with the GPRS trouble after update.
1. I did the Imate ROM update and had lots of trouble with GPRS MMS etc..
2. Didn't know how to fix so - I started over...
3. I installed the Qtek ROM and had the same connection issues.
4. Called T-Mobile - got a 3rd level tec and he suggested something I had not heard before. Now keep in mind that I had reset several times hard and soft. He had me go inot Comm and hit the phone icon - and turn it off and on. I am not sure exactly why - but it worked! His explanation was that since I was going back and forth between work and home that the phone (which is supposed to switch automatically didn't and) got locked somehow. I am pretty new to all of this but already did 3 ROM updates - so learning a lot.
5. Now all my connections work the way they are suppose to. Only ONE connection and that is wap.voicestream.com as it should be. My WiFi connection is blazingly fast! I am a happy camper - but I went around and around with this for about 2 days before getting a tec that gave me this advice.
Perhpas someone can tell me which is newer (better) the Qtek or the Imate ROM??
Thanks,
Shep
ok i have searched all over howard forums and here about the GPRS settings for T-Mobile USA.
in one particualr post it mentions you have to set the appropriate access point for your type of internet service. Personally, i have the T-Mobile total internet for $29.99.
I have applied both of these setting as my access point
internet2.voicestream.com and wap.voicestream.com
both of these settings allowed me to connect to the GPRS network, so i guess my question is which setting should i be using????
T-Mobile is shipping all these devices with wap.voicestream.com, and has opened the ports for people on the "real" internet service using it.
If you use "internet2", you will have problems with MMS, since you can't send MMS through that AP. There are workarounds for this but they are messy. My recommendation is that you use wap.

GPRS Setting with FIDO

I'm using Cingular 8525 (unlocked) in Canada with Fido sim, where can i change the GPRS setting on the phone? i don't see any place that can change it? thanks in advance!
look what I found when I googled Fido "GPRS Settings"
http://www.dslreports.com/faq/7418
In any case, Ross Barkman's page is the best for finding your telco settings.
http://www.taniwha.org.uk/gprs.html
To change your settings you have 3 options (I've included details instructions so follow them carefully):
Option 1.
1. Go the box the phone came in
2. Pull out the little book that says user manual
3. Open the book up
4. Read it.
Option 2.
1. Scroll to the top of this page
2. Click on XDA-Wiki
3. Go the Hermes Section
4. Read it.
5. Read it again, so you understand everything not just the GPRS problem.
Option 3 (and I'm gonna hear about this from pof).
1. Click Start
2. Click Settings
3. Click Con... Argh, I can't sorry man... you're gonna have to pick 1 or 2.
Forgive me pof, I started feeling sorry for the newbie. I promise I won't do it again!
thanks! i already know what the setting is, but i'm just wondering that will Cingular allow me to change the GPRS settings?
If the phone is unlocked, there is nothing stopping you from changing anything on the phone. For all purposes Cingular is just a name written on your phone, Cingular the company has nothing to do with you anymore unless you have a cingular SIM in your phone.
Thanks for replied, the problme is, the Cingular stock rom doesn't have any icon that let me to change the GPRS setting! there should be a "Network Wizard" on Setting-->Connection , but there is non! when i click on GPRS setting, it only allowing me choose either "PAP authentication" or "CHAP authentication" . i have been playing the GPRS setting for a long time, but didn't get anyting, so should i flash to other rom? thanks in advance!
We are having the same problem
I have an 8125 running with a Movistar Mexico SIM and last Sunday I got its replacement: an 8525, I spent most of the Sunday (and the several days before) reading threads and doing all procedures to unlock it until I succeeded, so now I have an 8525 unlocked supre CID and all that ... "running" with the same SIM and same GPRS set up but I haven´t been able to navigate internet on GPRS (stalls in the "opening" status), I installed spb GPRS Monitor and the traffic is zero Kb on all tries that I´ve made to connect to the internet. I set also my Gmail account which is set up to retreive amails every 15min and although generates GPRS traffic the behavior is totally different as in my 8125. About MS Messenger and Hotmail the GPRS connection hasn´t been imposible. I´m a newbie I know it!! But you expert guys should help us at least with comments, I agree that some people make repeated questions because they don´t want to read, this is not our case, I´ve read a lot and I´m sure eeric di´d it too. PLEASE HELP....
Use this as a guide to putting in GPRS and MMS settings.

Substitute the settings for your network.

Thank you Bny! I do know how to make it and also set the proper strings in my case APN would be internet.movistar.mx and the user name & paswrord is movistar. That´s not really the problem, in fact I do know that I have a connection to my network, the problem is that something happen 8525 than doesn´t allow me to route my connections thru other routes but the one that Cingular has a preset. I really don´t know if is it the Ext ROM, my SIM card (not a 3G card) or the network itself since is not a 3G network !!!?
have any of you guys considered doing a hard reset and then soft reset before the 3 second customization? that way none of the cingular stuff gets installed?!?

I suppose there could be a number of reasons for this. But here is a consideration from my experience albeit on a different network. I entered all the details for my O2 connection as published on several different internet sites. Initially I could not get beyond "connecting" but found a minor error in what I had entered. Now I got as far as "Opening" but never actually open a site. I gave up but happened across a website that suggested that if you get that far i.e. "to opening" then perhaps the only fault would be the port number in proxy settings for HTTP. I checked and it was correctly set to "80". I did searches on the internet and found one that suggested port "8080" and it worked straight away. I only suggest that you check the port number and whether there are alternatives if you are getting as far as "opening".

Do you have Start>setings>connections>connections
Note two "connections" and if you do you get a page titled connections and Two headings 1. My ISP and 2. My Work Network

Thanks Mike and shogunmark! I´ll try the trick to avoid the customisation from Cingular; as far the port setting that´s a good point, however my screen for connection settings only shows 2 tabs: 1)Tasks and 2) Advanced, the 3rd tab (Proxy) that is present in my 8125 is missing in my 8525. Any ideas to make it appear or change the port? Thanks again you guys!
I did it, but it did not work.....
I just tried but it didn´t work either.... let´s see what´s next. Thank You!

I did what shogunmark suggested and it didn´t work either, I´m wondering waht would be the correct proxy server configuration, besides the port number I really don´t know the type of connection (http, wap, sec wap or scocks 4/5), neither the server name
I made the connection
I allways had the right "parameters" to set a proper connection, but I realized that the connection speed is extremely slow (5 Kbps at the most). I open another thread related to the use of a G3 device with a non G3 SIM / network. Thank you all for your help.

If you manage to make progress in improving connection speed, it would be useful to post a solution on this thread. Hope you succeed.

MDA Vario II on O2Pay and Go no MMS/WAP Help!!!

I recently bought a MDA Vario II off Ebay, works great, when I got it I unlocked it and hard reset then clicked cancel so none of the Tmobile **** is installed. This is a wm5 phone on o2 pay and go.
The problem I am having is I cant use gprs, wap or use mms's.
Ive tried using all these sites (plus more) to no avail:
http://www.o2.co.uk/services/ota4/select
http://www.o2.co.uk/services/waystoconnect/getsetup
http://www.4winmobile.com/forums/ppc-faq/6251-q-what-uk-roi-gprs-settings-web-wap-mms.html
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299023
Ive tried installing the o2 cabs that you can find through the last link, none work. Ive checked, and double checked all settings for getting wap but it doesn't work. I cant receive email or go online.
One annoying thing, when I go into my messages folder and click on menu there is nothing I can click on to add mms settings! Argh!!
Has anyone experienced this before or know how to fix it? Recon upgrading to a cooked wm6 rom might bring it back, or a hard reset and installing the tmobile crap will work?
Cheers, T
There's a whole load of CABs for Operator settings on the Wiki - see here - scroll down to the O2 cab in the UK section.
Now, what I'm not sure of is whether the settings for PAYG are different to those for contract phones; however, given your lack of success so far, it won't hurt to try
EDIT: Read posts 1 & 6 (specifically) in this post for a load more info re: O2 PAYG settings
Hope this helps,
Mark.
Id tried the first one already, second one was new to me.
I installed it and nothing worked, so I changed the settings to pay and go, still doesn't work. The option for using MMS's hasn't even appeared!
I'm actually getting ****ing fed up with o2 now
I even read that they wont allow mobile internet fully... thats bull!
If anyone has any other suggestions that would great, otherwise Im gonna switch providers. Probably to 3 or t-mobile.
oops, double post
Try the attached cab, install it, soft reset, then you should get a 'connection setup' option in the connections control panel.
It should detect your carrier and automatically set everything up
Installed and it seems to have installed everything for contact o2. I tried changing all the settings it did to payandgo but when I try and access the web, ie, google.co.uk it displays that it is connected but internet explorer has a pop up that says 'the page cannot be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost'.
But when I try and access wsp://wap.o2.co.uk I get an error from the 'G' symbol at the top saying 'cannot connect for an unknown reason'.
I have checked and double checked the settings and nothing is working :/ still no option for MMS either :/
Think I will try and hard reset and reinstall all the t-mobile ****e... see what happens.
Haha! Got it working!
I did a hard reset and let it install all the t-mobile ****e. Then changed all the t-mobile internet settings to o2 ones and it works!
****ing strange considering its the exact same settings I had used a hundred times before. The t-mobile rom must have a registry setting or something.
The MMS options have even appeared now, should just have to tweak the settings to get it working!
Cheers for the help anyway guys!
