Deploying app to debug on spv m500 - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hi There,
I am useing .net 2003, create a C# Smart Device app for smartphone 2003. I can run this on the emulator ok.
I have the phone connected by activesync.
When I try to deploy to the "smartphone device (Default)" it pauses for a few seconds and a dialog apears saying there where deployment errors.
Heres the output:
------ Deploy started: Project: SmartDeviceApplication2, Configuration: Debug Smartphone ------
Deploying to Smartphone Device using TCP Connect Transport
Error: Cannot establish a connection. Be sure the device is physically connected to the development computer.
---------------------- Done ----------------------
Build: 1 succeeded, 0 failed, 0 skipped
Deploy: 0 succeeded, 1 failed, 0 skipped
Can anyone help me with what I am doing wrong.
Cheers
Andy

Upgrade ROM gives ERROR 011 - What does this mean??????

I am running Windows XP Pro SP2 RC1 and having successfully used the USB connection to update the ROM on my 02 XDA 1, I then discovered that I have the T Mobile version of software.
It all works fine but I did not want T mobile so I used ROM kitcehen to create a new ROM and tried to load this. Unfortunately I now get two errors. The first is via the Command prompt "ERROR: GetDeviceData - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. error getting devicedata" and the second from the upgrade software "Error 011 Execute Remote Communications Program Error. Cannot execute the remote communications program. Please make sure the USB/Serial cable is properly connected". Since my USB connection is properly connected - I can synchronise with my PC and load applications to the XDA - then I am unsure what to do.
Can anyone please offer assistance with resolving this problem?
:?: Why do you think, there is a search button in this forum? Have you ever tried it? :?:
I just tried it with the keywords Error and 011 and i got 20 hits.
The first one was your posting an the second one gives you the answer, why you're getting this error and how to fix it....

Syncing with ActiveSync 4.0 crashes computer!

Hi,
I'm using ActiveSync 4.0 to try to sync my iMate K-Jam (WM 5) with my IBM T40p laptop. Each time it connects, I get up getting the Blue Screen of Death while trying to connect. I have successfully connected a WM 2003 device (iMate Jam) to my laptop with AS 4.0, but my WM 5 device will crash my computer all the time.
I'm using Windows XP SP2 and have ensured that the firewall is off and the Anti-virus is disabled. I have tried it on the same machine with Windows XP SP1 before I reformatted the HD and re-installed Windows XP(but this time with SP2). I can however get it to work on another machine but try as I might it will not work with my laptop.
I've dug up the logs for AS and attached them below. Any help would be greatly appreciated - this is driving me up the wall!!!!
Regards,
Rajesh
P.S. I've tried AS 4.1 but I still get the same results.

I have the same with a T30.. What i sthe code in he Blue page. Mine was 00000001
I am having to use Infra Red to sysnc on this my work laptop.
I had this problem too. Firstly are you running Anti-virus software? In particular one that contains a firewall, such as PC-cillin? If so try disabling it temporarily (at your own risk etc...) and see if this helps.
Also you might want to try the latest version of ActiveSync 4.1 (build 4807, I think), which seems to be better.

Tried disabling both the AV and firewall, but to no avail. I've tried AS 4.1 and that didn't help either.
I've got it syncing using Bluetooth, but still can't sync with USB!
Rajesh
There was a report over at HoFo about someone with this problem that fixed it by making sure they had all of the updates from MS installed. They posted that after going to the Windows Update site, it installed SP2, still crashed, went back to the update site, got some more and one fo the updates was some sort of USB update. After that the problem went away.
I suggest trying that and seeing if it fixes the problem. Remember you might have to do the update site more then once to make sure all of the udpates have been installed.
Good Luck
Make sure that your motherboard drivers are up to date - this solved my blue screen of death on my Nforce 3 system!

IBM phantom tcp port management?
I too have an IBM that will NOT work with ActiveSync 4.x. I am convinced it is some phantom TCP Port network management issue.
I can only sync via IR, but ActiveSync 3.x worked fine b/c it did not use the TCP/IP stack as does ActiveSync 4.x!!! I also cannot use network management tools that employ high unassigned TCP ports...just like ActiveSync's TCP 26675!
Coincidence...I think not!
FYI, I installed 4.x on my HP laptop...works fine with my QTEX 9100.
Ideas?

IDA ARM debuger

Hello!
I try to debug some program on Qtek 8310 with IDA 4.9 Adv+IDA ARM debuger plugin from IDA 5.
My device is sofware unlocked:
1)HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001001 = 2 => 1
2)SDA_Unlock.exe
3)HKLM\init\BootVars\RequireCertMod = 1 => 0
4)HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001005 = 16 => 40 (RAPI)
5)HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001017 = 16 => ??? (CERT)
When I start debuging in IDA, plugin being to run om smartphone, activesync conection go down and ida show message - irs_recv:An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host
What I do worth?
Same problem. May be ActiveSync problem? I am using 4.1
BTW, there is already post with same problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=48886
I've enabled RAPI, full unlocked - by ActiveSync still crashing (AppName: wcesmgr.exe AppVer: 4.1.4841.0 ModName: wcesmgr.exe
ModVer: 4.1.4841.0 Offset: 00023ed6)

EnableRAPI.cab don't work on wm5(qtek8310) with error while install (not for this device). I think it is not support wm5.0.

no usb connectiion with XP SP2

Hi All,
i am really looking for some help here, as lst 3-4 hours were fully unsuccessful for me... My laptop (XP SP2) stopped recognizing my tytn via usb. Once i connect the device, i go thru the Found new hardware wizard. At the end of process (no matter i select automatic update, or direct) it will give me an error: windows mobile-based device could not be installed... an error occured during the instalation. The reason is that it is looking for the USB driver in c:/windows/inf/oem4.inf file. This file directs to usb8023x.sys, which is supposed to control the connection.

Would appreciate any help (reinstalling the XP is not an option for me...). TyTN is working with no problems being linked to other computers.
Have you used the installation disc?
Mike
Installation disk for what? The thing is that the most recent RNDIS and "Windows mobile-based device" are part of XP SP2 pack... The other thing is that everything was working perfectly well for me till yesterday. This does look like smth has got corrupted, but SP2 repair did not help.
USB problem...
Hey, I have the same problem for over 3 months now...
The strange thing is, IR an Bluetooth work well, it's a TyTn thing because a Qtek 9100 or 8310 are perfectly pairable.
I also have this with ALL PC's using activesync 4.x. I first thought it was my USB cable that was defective, but this seems to be OK (sync perfect with all qteks PSP etc)
Altough i haven't used it with my vista configuration yet i think it will have the same problem...
Now i'm stuck with the o so slow IR because there's no answer for this on any site... (long live google)
nobody has an idea?
I can't believe that
Anyone fixed this as at the moment I cannot connect my hermes to my XPSP2 machine.
Mine wasn't working, then it worked. Don't know what I did.
But know the USB internet connect option doesn't work.
sigh...i hate windows
sorry double post. can't find the delete post option

[TIPS] Internet Connection via ActiveSync

I have this issue when connecting HD2 thru USB to the PC (Windows XP). The device cannot connect to internet via ActiveSync (but it syncs flawlessly). I can't play youtube. Can't browse. Can't do anything that needs internet access.
If you got this problem, try the following:
1) In your PC, run regedit.
2) Add the following DWORD value:
HKLM / Software / Microsoft / Windows CE Services
DWORD "AllowLSP" = 0
Alternatively, download the reg file below. For Windows Vista/7 users, please update whether this works or not.
Cheers.
