Is it possible to use my PDA as a bluetooth dongle? - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Hi there....
Is it possible to use my XDA II as a bluetooth dongle?
I have I-mate Phone Edition and I want to use the Bluetooth in my Pocket PC for my PC to send files throw it.
I have a program in my PPC that change my PPC to Flash Memory when cable is connected to it... then a hard drive shown in My Computer.
Any how,
I wonder if there is a program for PC to identify the MS bluetooth in PPC?
sorry for the bad language!
Bye

Highly unlikely..
Infact; nigh on impossible..

There are many program that can control the PPC via bluetooth or cable. and they called remote. from them we can use the PPC bluetooth.
Microsoft should add this function in Activesync for easy to use the bluetooth in PPC! For that we don't need to buy a bluetooth dongle!
any way... thanks to all

Ask
What software do you used so PC read your PPC as flash card?

It is called "Softick Card Export II". it is amazing program... and you don't need to install Active Sync in your PC... you will be shocked when you see how fast transferring files!
Download this program and see if it is work with your PPC:

Not able to use BlueTooth File Transfer Service
Dear Friends,
Please if some one could help with this issue, i am using O2 XDA II Mini with IVT Bluesoleil USB blue tooth dongle, when i discover the services on my windows XP LAPTOP i get 3 services active,
1) Bluetooth dial up network service
2) Bluetooth serial port service
3) Bluetooth object pull-push service
i want to know how can i get the bluetooth file transfer service activated so that i can transfer my files from PC to Phone via bluetooth.
Currently i am using ActiveSync Explorer to do so.
Regards
Niks
I have the same problem,
I somehow was able to object push a .txt file, once, then never again. Then i gave up and just copied files using my card reader + SD card which is much easier.
Edit: I think it may have something to do with the M$ bluetooth stack, changing this to another stack might fix the problem. Let me know how you go.
Are you using the M$ BTdriver on your PC or your own?
Using all standard bluetooth drivers on phone and pc,
Bluetooth file transfer service issue
I am using drivers and software provided by IVT Bluesoleil on PC and the O2 XDA MINI has its own bluetooth drivers provided by the phone manufacturer, when i connect my NOKIA 6630 or 6600 the bluetooth file transfer serivice is activated but it dosent only get activated for O2 MINI.

wizard activesync throug bluetooth

Hi all,
I have a toshiba portege r200 and I'm simply not able to set up activesync to work through bluetooth. The darn computer only sees my phone as a modem.
I have no clue how to do this.
I really cant' see why this has to be so hard. Both units are running stupid microsoft software. Whey the can't microsoft think that people migh want to connect their ppc's to their laptops via bt and just make it work easily?
Please, someone help.
thanks
Try deleting the pairing on your pc and the Universal. Then initiate from the Universal. It Should give you an option for ActiveSync. Also check in ActiveSync on your PC that you have set up connection settings to allow connections to Com4 (maybe another Com part in your case.)

It's possible UMTS+ActiveSync?

It is possible connect to UMTS/GPRS while Activesync is on?
The idea is to access from a portable pc without internet connection and use the feature with Pocket Controller Program and ONLY in JASJAR, without use modem feature or PC explorer or another, only Pocket Controller and soft on JASJAR.
Thanks
Well I know I can use the wireless modem over bluetooth whilst I am stil connected for activesync over USB to my PC
Yes, I know about modem usb or BT...
My question is another. Is for use like I described in my post.
Thanks
Ahh Sorry - I think I understand the question now. You want to use your JASJAR to surf the internet through SOTI pocket controller whilst it is still hooked up to your PC with ActiveSync.
Can't see why you would want to do this, but I'll see if I can figure it out.
Exactly, that is!
Thanks
I tried this also, but failed.
Exactly, fail. So I ask for it.
Thanks
In order to acheive this you must disable the "pass through" connection that active sync makes when it connects. I'm not sure whether this can be done
Hummm I cannot see that option... I't possible that register must be modified but.... how!? That the question.
Thanks

If you just want to see your PPC on your PC using Soti's Pocket Controller, you can setup a TCP/IP connection in Pocket Controller on your PC given that you have a Wireless network setup. Using this method does not require that you have Activesync running and will be able to use UMTS connection at the same time... I've set this up on my PPC and network.

How to send *.cab files from PC to 8125 via BT?

The subject tells it all.
I've been looking for answers on many threads. I've asked questions on them for about a week or two... Still no answers...
So, I decided to create new thread.
The question is: how do you send *.cab (or other) files to the Cingular 8125 via Bluetooth?
I have Bluesoleil USB BT dongle and I can't install Activesync on my work computer. When I pair my phone with the PC and refresh services, all I get is BT modem and "Bluetooth Object Push." When I send the file via BT object push the PC will start sending it and then it'll give a disconnected message. Sometimes it sends the whole file with no warnings saying that the file has been sent succesfully, however it is nowhere to be found on the phone. (Searched via Total Commander)
Any suggestions?
How do you send files to your phone?
Doesn't anyone send any files to their phones from PC via BT?
ActiveSync will help
MargaL, not sure this is possible without having ActiveSync on your work computer. I have a BlueTooth USB dongle that I use to sync, but its through the ActiveSync program. From there you can click the Explore button to see a folder for your Mobile Device, then drag and drop away...is there another computer you can use (home?) where you can put activesync instead?

I have Activesync at home but the problem is that I don't really have time to sit on playing with the phone at home... I do it at work ;-) and the problem is that here I have Win 2000 NT and anyways if my boss traces out Active sync here, I think I might have a lot of free time to play with the phone and to look for a new job...
So... maybe there is another way?
Anyways... jorge_culv, thanks for your help...
i send files all the time without activesync. to be clear, i specifically don't use activesync, cause the only way i know in activesync is to explore the device, versus turning on bluetooth on two devices, right clicking any file, and choose "send via bluetooth" or whatever.
make sure your device is discoverable, the pc will find it, and send it
With the Widcomm BT stack everything worked like a charm - just right-click on the file you want to send in the Windows explorer and select "Send to"->"Bluetooth"... All the files went to the "My documents" folder.
A few days ago I installed the Bluesoleil stack that came with my new dongle and I got the same problem! :?
Seems like there is no way to send files via OBEX with the Bluesoleil stack - that software really sucks, Widcomm is so much better...
I tried this on my Mac and was unable to send the file. My Mac reported that the Wizard lacked the necessary services to handle an incoming file. I don't believe that though. Will try with the Wintendo later.
I wonder if this is a BT 2.0 vs. 1.2 issue?

BT 2.0 devices are fully backwards compatible - so that shouldn't matter. It works for me with the same dongle if I use the Widcomm stack instead of Bluesoleil, but I don't want to use Widcomm as it doesn't "cooperate" with my A2DP headset... :?

wizard as a BT dongle?

Can the wizard be modified in some way and be used as a BT dongle for the PC while connected to the USB?
What I mean is, the same way WM5Storage makes the wizard a card reader, can a certain program make it a BT dongle, so I can use my BT headset with skype and messenger on the PC?
thanks..

Interesting idea, not sure what the answer might be at the moment...my laptop has BT also so I haven't had the "need". Perhaps over the weekend I'll try it on my PC. It might require ActiveSync 4.5 to make it work though...hmmm
