Is there any way to know what applications is using up the "Program" memory?
Thanks

Several programs including MemMaid and SKTools have a feature which lets you move certain DLL's to SD .....although this can save a lot of memory out of RAM, is it really a good idea to do ??
I have been using this trick for a while... and I haven't face any problems so far...
I used Tweaks2k2 for this...
Which version of Tweaks do you have ?
I have v 3.4.0.0
Hi guys!
Can someone explain me the memory allocation?
I installed sone apps, like PPCProfile-PRo/BatteriPro ecc..., on storage (is it ROM or RAM?) an Acrobat, TomTom ecc.. on StorageCard.
If go to system, memory info I can'd understand the screen... there's an orizzontal slide for sotrage memory and other tab.
I'm trying to move the slide but it comes back to the original posizion...
Can you guys explain me how to read/use this info?
I have realized my phone memory decreasing over time, I had 100+mb before and now its on 55mb
Does it have to do with album cache or internet cache ?
How can I know what exactly is taking up the memory on my HTc HD2?
it depends on.
Look at here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583638
I would go for the hints described how to move the opera cache to storage card (#65) and then go for the hints by #67....
Use SKtools or Memmaid to clean it up....
And the obviousness that is - don't install software to the device. Install it to your storage card.
The biggest memory hog is the Youtube cache. Delete it from \Windows\Youtube.
Thanks for the replies guys,
Yeah I only install in storage memory. Thanks lee, I did move the cache storage to the storage card
Dont have much youtube cache I believe, I want to use SKtools or Memmaid, do they really work ? (assuming anyone tried it ? )
yeah, is there a specific version of memmaid/sktools for the hd2 or is any fine?
I am using ClearTemp and change the custom folders to \Windows\Opera\Profile\Cache and \Windows\Youtube.

And the reason of using a much slower memory for most of your everyday programs instead of the faster and already available for that reason system memory being...?
System storage is actually not related to RAM and filling it up does not really affect your performance, so I would always use the faster system storage for my most important applications (that excludes games, of course).

I had tried this in the past, and it slowed down the phobe to unusable levels
Hello everyone!
I am on .48 ROM and I have installed all the hotfixes available for me. I have although installed CorePlayer and TCPMP Player on the phone memory not on the SD card. After awhile, not immediatly, the youtube application started to not function properly telling me that there is not enough space. I uninstalled those 2 players and youtube works again. The question is why my phone memory is so full while all I have is the operating system and it's hotfixes?
anyone? what do i do wrong?
Do you have lots of photos/videos on your phone? HTC Album uses a lot of space for cache. There is a cab somewhere on this forum (do a search) for a HTC Album cache move to the storage card.
Also, search on this forum for ways to move the Opera cache to the memory card too.
You may also want to navigate to:
windows-youtube----there you will see a few folders and TONNES of thumbnails....delete the thumbnails.
But why the need to do all those things?! Is this because the RAM is too small or because of the ROM? All I have installed is Windows Mobile and this is using the ROM memory. The Ram memory should be empty. Right?
Or maybe i do not understand corectly the notions of RAM and ROM memory?

I think the issue is with the ROM, you should have about 130Mb free if you haven't got any caches (mentioned above) in use, but these can easily increase to fill that if you use the Album and Music tabs as well as Opera/Internet Explorer

Windows Mobile is very powerful but on the other hand it needs maintainance, especially when apps use the internal memory as a temp location. Youtube and HTC Album are such apps.
I bought the Telstra version of HTC HD2 and flashed the ROM to version 1.66 with Arabic support. What I have started noticing is that after installing several programs, my storage memory started running very low (now down to anywhere between 3-6MB while my free program memory is >160MB) even though I have setup my Windows Marketplace to install programs on the storage card, temp and cache files are as well as Email attachments are stored on the SD card and actually more than 80% of my program are installed on the SD card but I believe even when you tell a program to install on the SD card, portion of it has to install in the main memory.
My question is what to do about this situation (BTW, I have tried apps that clear the RAM and they work temporarily and, obviously, as I use my device the memory goes down and then I have to re-run that program to clear the RAM again). Is there a way to change the memory allocation between storage and program RAM like we used to do in Windows CE?
Please advise?
