Hello,
Ever since I updated my T-Mobile XDA to the 2003 Rom, my active sync will not recognize the device while hooked up to my PC via USB. I saw someone posted a similar problem, but solved it by disabling their computers firewall. I have tried this and still no luck.
Can anyone offer any further assistance for me?
Thanks
Same problem here, but with kitchen 4.00.11 ROM (without T-Mobile customisation). Have no problem at work, cannot get it to work at home.....
Phil
Did you try upgrading activesync to 3.7 or doing a complete re-install of activesync?
Be sure to run the latest version of Activesync. (right now:3.7)
I had the exact same problem before I did...

stink and cpu time
is it just me or does active stink really eat up cpu cycles?
both my core and surface go through the roof when its sync'd but fine when its just connected..... when you stop syncronization or pull out the xda... the temps go back down to 33*c and 34*c respectively.... takes up 80+ % of time....
am I the only one with problems like that or have Microsoft just proved they dont have a clue about technology?
running v3.7
sync problems
I have the same issues on mine - can't sync via usb - tried three computers no workie - but ipaq syncs ok
reinstall active sync doesn't work
I can sync via IR w/no problems though
Please note MS stipulate that ActiveSync 3.7 is required for PPC2003 Xda II.
Serial and Infrared work fine with 3.6, but not USB.

Which ROM version are you running 4.00.10 or 4.00.16?
4.00.16
Just Reset Your PDA then connect your usb again
(Work with my xda 4.00.05 & ActiveSync 3.7.1)
I often send files via ftp on GSM conection to the internet 500k in size. I dial from my laptop using a bluetooth modem to the XDA2. It connects fine however it takes ages and even fails sometimes. If I use my nokia in the same position it sends 3 times quicker. I assume there is a modem string needed or something. Anyone got any ideas?
I have also no idea how to use GPRS from my laptop through the XDA2. I tried to install Vodafone Connect on my laptop but the installation allways comes up with an error message saying
'A file cannot be found, this error is catastrophic.'
That is not a nice mesage to me.
Any more ideas anyone????
I think I need a Jedi answer on this one
Have you tried the manuals here :
http://www.myxda.com/XdaII/serviceandsupport/template/XdaIIHowToUse.vm
there is one especially for you....
Thanks a bunch for that URL, It has helped. I found an AT String to put in the laptop under the Bluetooth modem settings which has made a more stable connection however I still have a pretty slow data flow rate, about 500Kbs when I was getting 900Kbs with the Nokia, do you know why? Can anyone help???
The web site also enabled me to use GPRS from laptop using the XDA2 which works a treat.

U NEED 2002 ROM .... OR GERMAN WM2003 (IF U UNDERSTAND GERMAN)
AND THE PROGRAM IS WModem (WIRELESS MODEM)
XDA is a pc(in a way), and with a pc i can connect to any other phone and transfer data from IR. how come is so difficult with a XDA ppc, since he recognizes all the phones names but no data transfer from the beam. With my original rom I could connect to some of them but now is inpossible with the rom 2003final that I cooked myself. Is there any way I can get a better connection so I can transfer data to other Phones or viceversa. Thanks for the understanding.
Recently upgraded my pda from O2 XDA II to prophet. I have a problem transferring my calendar appointment and contacts to my new device. I'm using a sprite back-up software. Backing up from my XDA II device was no problem but when restoring it to my Prophet ( Dopod Pro) the pop up message will tell me that the back-up came from another device, and proceeding with the procedure might render problem to the prophet. How do I make a back up from a PPC 2003 (XDA II) to a WM (Dopod 818). Please help
Why not synchronise your Calendar Appointments and Contacts on your WM2003 with Outlook and then synchronise the Dopod 818 just afterwards?
BAck-up problem/ Data Transfer Problem from PPC2003 to WM5
I have one more problem. I can't make a connection with my PC. The connector on my XDA are destroyed and impossible ffor me to synchronize it to my PC. Can't even charge the batteries. Is there any way to transfer the data thru my SD card? Tried all sorts of backing up methods but to no avail. My prophet recognizes that the data backed up was a pc2003 data and will not accept on restoration. Please help me how to go about this problem. Thanks
what about bluetooth connection? or IR?
thanks for the suggestion Acer
Hi people,
I have a problem.
Since I installed the official WM 6.5 portuguese rom last week, the data transfer speeds from pc to TD2 decreased a lot!
It takes about 9 hours to transfer 250MB to TD2 memory card through the USB cable!
Am I doing something wrong?
Is there any option I have to connect / disconnect to increase the data transfer speed?
Thanks in advance for your replies.
Greetings from Portugal

Are you using disk drive mode, or ActiveSync mode? The former is much quicker. You need to check your connection options in case it defaults to ActiveSync without prompting.
It's slow both ways.
It asks everytime I connect which mode I want.

How about temporarily disabling antivirus, disk defragmenter etc? Maybe they started up coincidentally. Check what is happening in Task Manager when you transfer files.
Thanks for the suggestion but it didn't work either.
Any more ideas?
I had the same problem after using for a while udK Leo R5 WM6.5, at first it woked well, then slowed down, then couldn't see my SD card anymore . Actually this happens with almost every WM6.5 I tried. I reported this issue dozens of times, going to do it once again in udk ROM related thread, with no hope. Back to my old beloved TomTopaz WM6.1 !!
