Are there anyway to put bootloader into my XDA?
Because i want to downgrade bootloader v5.17 to v5.15, My XDA die.
I can't enter bootloader by press and hold power botton then press reset botton. So I can't do anything with my XDA such as: flashing ROM, flashing bootloader with SD-Card.
Thank for dedicate and helping me.
Sorry for bad english.
Extraction of some part of the Wiki:
# Wipe the SD card (format FAT). Stick the SD card back into the pda and soft reset, then cradle it.
# Go to a DOS prompt and CD to where you have extracted the XDATools
# Type 'pnewbootloader bootloader_v5_15.nb0' to write the Wallaby 5.15 boot loader to the device.
The output looks like this:
D:\XDAtools\binaries>pnewbootloader_40116 bl515.nb0

I need more help.
I had the same problem with Kavin, and I did as you suggested above, but I have some issues.
1. Why "Wipe the SD card (format FAT). Stick the SD card back into the pda and soft reset, then cradle it."? I could get into the bootloader, the SD now no use to write anything b/c my wallaby doesn't read it for bootloader re-write.
2. Once I type 'pnewbootloader bootloader_v5_15.nb0', the DOS command says 'pnewbootloader bootloader_v5_15.nb0 is not reconized as... patch file" What I should I do next?
3. I tried you suggestion on the threat http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=104778&highlight=#104778. BUT it won't help at all. I can write the Bootloader to the SD card, once i insert it to XDA. it says the card need to format. then I choose NO, but then I tried enter the bootloader agian, my XDA go directly to the normal screen.
Pls give us the instruction in more details if you don't mind. Tks

I've never done this before, but it appears you typed in your dos box incorrectly.
you should type this :
pnewbootloader_40116 bl515.nb0
which is the executable : pnewbootloader
followed by the bootfile : bl515.nb0
you typed : pnewbootloader_bl515.nb0
which would be an invalid filename.
Remove the underscore after pnewbootlader

i have the same 1% flash failed problem. here's what i did.
1. prepare an SD card with the RUU_3.16.52 extracted using XDArit.exe (use XDArit.exe to transfer the ROM in c:\program files\RUU\english\NK.nbf to the SD) you need to have a USB SD Card Reader in order to do this. buy one if you have to.
2. prepare a second SD card with the repair files stored in the root directory (RSUpgrade.sa.CAB 4,305,434bytes, and the 2577 folder) just like whoever suggested, but replace the RSUpgrade.sa.CAB on the root of SD with the one you extracted in c:\program files\Radio Stack Upgrade Utility\RSUpgrade.sa.CAB (4,328,441bytes) by running RSU_3.23.01.exe (which had unfortunately caused the failure.)
2. insert the SD card with the RUU_3.16.52. press the power button while performing a soft reset. you should enter the wallaby loader screen. i have version 5.15. press action to flash the ROM to your xda.
3. cold boot your xda. you should see the blud Qtek screen. in the lower-right-hand corner you should see
G
R
3.16.52
4. you may be asked to calibrate your screen by tipping the four corners.
5. press the volume button. insert the second SD card (containg the repair files and the 4,328,441bytes SUpgrade.sa.CAB (NOT the 4,305,434bytes one, because it will cause freezing at 1%!) wait patiently until the upgrade finishes. you may put the xda back to the cradle for power as long as it doesn't reset itself.
if anything goes wrong, start from step 2 again.
NOTE: i may have skipped some steps in the above. but that's the best i could remember. good luck.
if you haven't upgraded the Qtek ROM and the Radio Stack, learn the risk before attempting!!!

I am digging around trying to fix a TMobile update from an ATT rom image and can't seem to figure out where you got the recovery files from...
Any help would be appreciated...

Hi !
i tried to read my saved 3.14-ger rom from my SD card (saved as boot+ce)... but XDArit (new version) says: Did not find correct flash signature, aborting!
Why ? what did i do wrong?
Jabba
what does it display in the first page ?
does it start with 'HTC$WALLABY' ( if so what number follows? )
or does it say 'FLASH KEY'
or does it say 'FAT16'
nothing was displayed.
was very weird... i installed some win2k-drivers on my winxp for the sd-card, now it works !
my one see FAT16 it not 'HTC$WALLABY' WHAT I MAKE WRONG >?
WHAT ARE U MORE INSTALL ON TO XP ? PLEASE TELL ME I NEED TO FIX THIS PROBLME TOO
if you see 'fat16' that means your sd card is still formatted for normal use.
after xdarit or your bootloader have written data to your sd card,
you will see 'HTC$WALLABY' in the first bytes.
the 'FLASH KEY' is what you would see with bootloader 5.17, I am not sure
if xdarit supports this correctly.
I didn't need to install anything on XP, I just plugged a usb cardreader
in my pc, you see some popups about windows finding new hardware, and drivers. and after about 1 minute it worked.
the new ver 1.2 of XDArit.exe
when i use it Write a image to sd card,it 's return a error

I get the same message in XDArit.,
Also. recently installed the latest program A update 3.17 from O2 to my UK XDA all went well, then (before I discovered this website!!) I foolishly (it now seems) went to the Program B uprade. this hubg up in mid flash!!
Now my poor XDA is in a sorry condition does wird and wonderful things, random backlight on off, responds to ocasional button pushes.
where can I get the GSM ROM to flash into it?
I also receive XDARite error with version 1.0.2.....
I have tried three different card readers and all of them give me this error....
Todd
I had the XDA special edition ROM on my XDA-I. for some stupid reason i downloaded the TMobile WM2003 ROM from ROMKitchen and ugraded it but i hate it n m trying to get rid of it. Now i have seen in the posts that TMobile ROMs have a problem where they do not let u change the ROMs again using the Program A methods so i m tryin to use the SDCard method, i dont see the screen that allows me to do that when i have the SD card with the image in the slot. Presumably i m doing something wrong while creating the image. I m doing it using XDATools OSImageTool, i have another ROM image NB1 file from ROMKitchen as welll i select that as the source, i select the XDA SD Card slot as the destination and copy over the image. but when i reset with the power button pressed i get the Wallaby color screen and not the flashing screen that i m supposed to see.. Can somebody tell me what i m doing wrong?
thanx
Looks like the rom didn't get wriiten correct on the SD-Card, or you have the wron bootloader version on your device.
Try writing the ROM-Image via an external SD-Writer.
You can also try backing up old ROM to your SD via Bootloader and then look if you're able to reinstall it on your device....
Stefan
stefan thanx for your reply. The bootloader version that shows up when i do a restart with power switch pressed is V5.14, Is that the correct version? Is there anyway to check or insure if the image has been written correctly on the SD card?
I do not have access to an external SD card writer so that option is out the window.

The old ROM i presume is gone? but is there a way? or can i use some other method? I noticed there is this USB flashing thingie if i press the volume button. Any pointers you can give me to use that?
thanx bunches for your help!
Maybe it's a problem of the bootloader. Never had Version 5.14.
You could also try this and then try to reflash your device:
# Download the XDATools ftp://xda:[email protected]/Wallaby/Tools/XDATools.zip and extract them
# Go to a DOS prompt and CD to where you have extracted the XDATools
# Type 'pnewbootloader bootloader_v5_15.nb0' to write the Wallaby 5.15 boot loader to the device.
The output looks like this:
D:\XDAtools\binaries>pnewbootloader_40116 bl515.nb0

stefan when i try to do that, the first message that pops up is "Do not run this tool unless; you want to downgrade your 5.17 bootloader to 5.15 you have somehow managed to overwrite... "
Now i do not know if i have 5.17 or no.. as i said i had given you the version from the screen that comes up when u reset while pressing the power switch..
in any case i did a yes.. and it said "Unable to find flash info offset, cannot disable bootloader writeprotect"
thanx bunches!
stefan.. sorry if i m being a pain.. as i mentioned in the last post the bootloader doesnt work.. i think my problem is similar to these guys
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=7646
but i do not have access to an external SD card writer.. so i was looking at this article..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=2110
i have the mtty utility and i can get to the USB prompt, can i somehow use that to flash the bootloader and the rom? where do i get those files and emm is the method safe?
thanx again for your help
oh btw.. i saw this post..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=21264
i went over the steps that u had mentioned for making the SD card.. from the device itself..
You require a SD-Card with >= 64 MB
XDAtools ftp://[email protected]/Wallaby/Tools/XDATools.zip
Your downloaded ROM from my kitchen
step1) Boot your XDA up normal and connect via active sync (guest partnership is ok)
step2) Copy all your data of your sd-Card to your local PC otherwise all data on it will be gone
step3) Enter bootloader of your device by pressing On/Off and doing a softreset
step4) After the Message GSM OK press the Contact Button of your device
step5) Navigate with the pad to "CE+BOOT TO SD"
step6) Confirm this with the Action Key (Press the middle of the Navigate-Pad)
step7) After finishing enter again bootloader by holding On/Off and doing a soft reset
step8) Bootloader should tell you something tah OS is detected on your SD-Card
If No -> Problem
If Yes -> continue
i have problems more advice?
thanx bunches!
one thing.. if i take CE+ROM->SD of another device (going a reset with power switched pressed and pressing contacts button), and i put that SD card in my device and boot, i shud get an option to update the ROM from the SD card right?
if i dont.. is there anything that i can do?
thanks
IGA
Same problem. couldn't even boot up using an SD card. I can't even find the wallaby patch

Hi
does anyone know how in need to call the "ARTEIMG.nbh" with the hareld when I am using this manual:?
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Artemis_SD_Card_Flashing
Empty (erase the contents) of your microSD card from the Windows Mobile file explorer or format it from your computer using a card reader (in some cases format doesn't work).(not necessary, do it only if 1st attemt fails)
Extract the .NBH file from your prefered ROM upgrade: In windows use winrar (right click) to extract the contents of the exe file. In Linux / MacOS use cabextract.
Rename the .NBH file to ARTEIMG.nbh and copy it to the root folder of your microSD card.
With microSD card inserted on the phone, start the bootloader (The bootloader is invoked by pressing down the Record button and using the stylus at the same time to press the RESET button at the left side).
You should see the screen pictured on the left, confirm flashing on screen by pressing the volume slider down.
Flashing might hang after some time but this is normal. Just wait. Complete flash takes about 30 minutes, so check your battery or connect to charger before the flashing process starts.
SuperCID devices are able to flash any NBH image using this method.

does nobody has experience with this???
I really need to do this so I can send it to repair...
haha problem solved.
In someway my phone was able to connect with my pc with a broken usb. haha
In bootloader mode it just worked
Why do you want to update your rom this way?
It is much easilier with the HARD-SPL or USPL.
Look a bit around the herald forum and you will find these methods!!!
Yes I know but my usb connection in my phone broke down, so i need to send it to repair.
But i had the touchit rom on it, so with that rom I didnt had any garantee
Hello everyone!
i do the following step how to install Nanandroid on my HTC Touch HD.
1. Flash the latest HardSPL from OliNex
2. Extract the 'adb files & fastboot.exe' files to a folder
3. Format the microSD card fully as FAT32
4. Copy the 'BlacIMG.NBH' file and your selected ROM (zip) you wish to use to the root of the microSD
5. Boot in TriColour mode (Power button and Volume down button)
6. Whilst in the TriColour mode, connect the Blackstone to a USB port ('Serial' should now say 'USB')
7. Run 'BlackstoneRUUAdvanced' and select the 'Task 29' which is full wipe of the Blackstone
8. Once completed, insert the microSD card and reboot into the TriColour mode again
9. The Blackstone will auto-flash-install (after key confirmation) the 'BlacIMG.NBH' on the microSD card
10. The 'BlacIMG.NBH' must NOT be flashed via Windows using the RUU tool (it will only fail)
11. Once flashed with the 'BlacIMG.NBH' it will reboot to a new Fastboot screen (blue background)
12. After a short time the Blackstone in Fastboot mode with enter a USB connect ready state
13. Now connect the Blackstone to your Windows OS and open a CLi/Command prompt
14. Within CLi go to the directory where you place the 'adb files & fastboot.exe' files (from step 2)
15. Type: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (this will flash install the custom CWR)
16. Then type: fastboot boot recovery.img (this will reboot your Blackstone into CWR)
and it's appear :

Why did you make a new thread for this? God, for some reason there is a thread for the ROM already...
Anyways, the phone is not stuck.
When you get into recovery press vol up, down, and up again, as it says on the instructions. Please read before asking.
unlock the power botton
