Is there any kind of a fix for the problem of being unable to use the SX56 to dial in to an ISP?
No matter what settings I use I get the same message back after a short while "no modem at the number being dialed".
I understand that the old 2002 version could do it so what has changed the 2003 version?

Hi!
I got a major problem when i upgrading my Qtek1010 to PPC 2003..
It works really good until the machine goes on suspend or i try to reboot.
I can't get it to restart, it's like the "on button" is broken. If i press soft reset the machine boots up really fine OR if i open and close the sim card holder...
Does anybody have a clue over what's wrong? I have been trying to find the answer on the forum but with no luck...
/Mike
Have you KSE Truefax on your device?
Than this is the problem....

hmm, another error..
Thanks for the help, the phone is working now, except for one thing.. GPRS!!
Vodafone has made som upgrade on GPRS so QTEK want's me to send the phone to service... There should be a way to solve this without sending the phone... Do you have any idea? Maybe it's the radio that needs upgrading?
do you have the right settings for vodaphone where you live ?
often you have to manualy setup such settings in connections after a rom upgrade
you can try search for which settings vodaphone use
I've tested different settings, but i don't think that's the problem. i think that i have to use the right radiostack or something like that to get it to work..
everytime i try to go on the internet with my sx56 i get an network log on
screen that asks me for a user name, password, and domain, i have t-mobile and i called them up and they said that i needed the t-mobile software or settings. need help. and i also need to know if i can upgrade
this phone i tried doing it and it gave me some error message talking about how the version i was trying to upgrade to was incompatible.
I have a wallaby with the XDA special edition ROM, and I'm using it with the Telefonica operator in Chile.
I just made the connections settings for the internet settings as the Telefonica company told me:
Cellular Line (GPRS)
APN: web.tmovil.cl
and in the dialing locations tab, under dialing patterns I set up the phone number to be dialed: *99***1# in the "For International calls, dial". (this is the only place where I can set the dialing number)
the user is "web" an password "web"
I believe all is ok, but when I try to make a connection, the phone shows the following message:
Phone:
UNKNOWN APPLICATION ..... Is this message ok?
and after that, it shows a Trouble Connecting message:
"The answering modem has disconnected. Verify the phone number and then try again. To change your... "
Any help?
Thanks a lot
i got that message when i didnt select the GPRS line...but you've done that :?
I'm thinking tha may be the radio version. My device have the 6.18.0 version.
Any ideas????
Unknown Application solved
Finally I solved the problem changing the ROM version in my XDA.
I installed the A.30.09 ENG T-mobile version, with the same settings for Telefonica in Chile and every thing connected OK.
Dear friends of XDA-developers, what do you think about this?
I has to be something with the different systems between Europe and America???
I thought that that was impossible to cross network settings accross other carriers ie o2 over orange internet too but igotta thinking theoretics again an thought back to basics an realized a description change "ityhere" an there "an sum proppa details umite jus be able to piggy back it altho as previously stated iaint rooted an am unable atmo indespite phone comp sayin iusd 170gb data last month neityeedless say my endless searches for knowledge wud continue aslong as i new there is always a way for me to help others or improve possible security loops
I seek other 9502 ultimate owners and experts advice on the below:
Upon trying to connect to the internet using the GPRS functionality, I always receive the following error message:
“Cannot connect for an unknown reason. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap settings. If the problem continues, reset your mobile device according to your manufacturer’s documentation and try again”
I have tried the following steps:
- Reviewed the connection settings picked up by the Imate configurator upon first boot, they were correct.
- Tried to remove the SIM card and use it on my JAMin, the device connected smoothly (with the above same connection settings).
- Hard reseted the device, still it didn’t connect.
- Checked the Operator settings of my provider on the internet, they are the same ones loaded by the Imate Configurator
- Tried another SIM card, same thing
- Went to the service provider and changed the SIM card and got a new one, same error
I shall appreciate any assistance.
UPDATE
Finally!!!!
After installing the new WM 6.1, the device connected smoothly

Hi, I have read your post and looked at my Ultimate to find anything obvious and I cannot. I am on O2 in the UK and used the configurator settings which worked fine. If there are any settngs you would like me to verify for you, let me know.
Oh! did you check the phone settings as well as the network connection settings, it's possible that a default in there does not tally with your provider (Goto the Wireless Manager and Tap MENU|PHONE SETTINGS).
Cheers

Thx for your reply.
I have tried every possible combination of Network / Band selection from the phone settings but it didn't work.
Imate have responded that it may be a ROM issue and that they are working on an new updated ROM to be available soon that will probably solve the problem.
Meanwhile i am trying to figure out some registery tweak that could fix the problem (trial and error)
WM 6.1 Link please
Can you please post the link to the WM 6.1 ROM that resolved your problem.
Thanks

i have an problem with my device: when i do an soft reset, he automatically connects to the wireless provider(KPN). I can telephone for a few minutes and then the connection is lost but the xda sais he has still connection.
when i want to phone somebody, there comes no noise out the speaker(there is no dialing), also people who wants to phone me will get an woman-computer-voice that sais "the phone is not on the network now, please try again later".
When i set the xda to connect manually to KPN, there are no problem what so ever. But when i do an soft reset, he wont make contact, i need to set it back to auto, then do again an soft reset, and then set it back to manual and connect to KPN.
i think that an radio update maybe will work, btw i have tried all windows from romkitchen but all have the same problem. i have windows 2003 se now installed.

I have an PW10A1 but windows 2003 se sais PW10B1
Mobile: O2 xda PW10A1
current sim provider: "Telfort" on the "KPN" network
