Any one knows "if possible" to have the thumbpad work as PDA2K keyboard in terms of dialing phone numbers from within the keyboard?
It only works as letters such as typing SMS, notes and others. But no dialing combination! Any driver update or hacking tip?

Very often I have to write an SMS with one hand, but it is impossible with Qtek 2020.
I would like to find a software where you can write an SMS with the standard mode (like on normal GSM) with standard numbers 1-9 with letters on them.
I use D9 to find the contact and I think it is very usefull.
When you find a contact and you tap the SMS button near the number it should be very appriciated to have a standard GSM input letter mode (like T9) instead of default SMS client of WM.
Do someone know if a software like this exists?
Thanks for the answer,
Urosh
GO to www.yorch.net and look under "software".
I' don't find any software I described before.
Please let me know which one do you think do what I said.
Thanks,
Urosh
I apologise, I thought it was on yorches site, here is the link for you, it is a superb piece of software and it is FREE. Anybody else wants a brilliant sms program make sure you get it too.

I just found a bug in this program when running on xda2, if you push "select" button when entering phone number it gives an error, but ig you spend a little time inserting all your often used numbers you can use the drop down becuase it remebers the last 20 numbers that you have used, its worth a little time to set it up becuase it saves a lot of time in the long run.
Actually it's not working at all with my mda ii It says: message sent successfully, but later on-message not delivered Do you have any idea what I could be doing wrong? Is there a special format in which I have to put the number of receipient?
i think, only way is spb fullscreen keyboard or typeango ..
It's working fine on my XDA-II with T-Mobile ROM 1.60. The only thing is that if I am trying to send to local mobile number I have to enter the number with '+', country code etc. while I could use 'short' number with ordinary mobile phone.

Ok, that seemed to do the trick. Tnx a lot, it's working now flawlessly. But, I still have another question -how do you input "+" directly from the SMSwriter. "+" is on the same key as the "0" and whatever I do I keep getting "0". Of coarse, I could call up the keyboard but for that would again need a stlyus
Its a serious shortcoming, its a pity somebody couldnt patch on the ability to select searchwhich would bring up the contacts list, any offers from you programmers please???
unfortunately, found no way around it, I used to enter '+' with soft keyboard using a pen. The only temporary solution which comes to my mind is the list of numbers used to send SMS already (there should be some 25 numbers kept).

For me is impossible to use this software only with my fingers.
It has too small dialogue boxes (to find the contact).
For me the best solution would be to have a D9 program that integrates a SMS client which has the same keypad which is at the start of the program (with big buttons) to write to message (when the contact has just been selected).
Bye,

is there a way you can send DMTF with the JAM like in most nokia phone if not all
They say that if you switch off sound when you press buttons, DTMF tones are sent correctly. There was such a reply in this forum. Sorry, I don't remember the author
DTMF is no problem with my device even with sound/tones active when pressing the buttons.

It was not good on mine - T-Mobile MDA Compact. In some cases the other side did not show reaction on incoming tones. With the sounds set to "off" it became fine.
do one of you guys know, how i can store these dtmf tones? for example i you've got a mailbox where you have to enter a code for access. the easiest way(you don't have to remebmer the code) is to store the phone number incl the dtmf tones in the phonebook. like nokia does it, e.g. +49323244322p1234
after the p is the access code.
do you know a way how to do this with the magician?
thx in advance
simple. create a contact with the dial string. assing a speed dial and you're good to go.
111-2222,,,,1233
each comma makes the phone wait a few seconds before inputting the 1233 string.
Hope that helps.
cool thx. its working.
It is the same as Nokia
You can also do with the magician as with any other phone. The Pause digit ("p") is a standard convention. If you use it in a number in a Nokia phone, the phone will wait for the other end of the call to "pick up", and then will send the remaining characters as DTMF.
Same on the Magician. You should have just tried.
The use of commas is also standard and works in all phones, but it just makes a 1-second pause, which is not very reliable for the first DTMF sequence after "pick-up". In fact, due to line coverage, 4 commas might work one time, but not the other time. "P" works all the time.
On my Magician phone book I actually have very long sequences of DTMF, to check various types of voicemails, or use calling cards. I always use "p" after the main number, after that the use of p or comma is the same, it's always 1 second.
the "p" doens't work with my mda compact.
the , is okay but p not.
i tired before, otherwise i wouldn't ask
That's really strange!!!! Could it be that MDA's have got a different dialler (my Magician is i-mate)?
hi,
anyone having the same problem im having during phone calls? i would receive a text message during a phone call with another person then i would try to reply on the keyboard but some of the keys only input as number and not the the letters assigned as usual. for example B, N, and M only work as 7, 8, 9.
anyone know how to solve this problem?
I have a tytn, 6.1 wimo.
best regards.
You're using the slideout keyboard and not the onscreen one, right? This has been posted before but I'm not sure if anything was ever sorted. My advice, use the onscreen one. I know that works... Cheers
hi all,
i just have a small question, i have been playing with my hd2 for quite some time now, i want to use the alphanumeric keypad for texting etc, i turn off t9 but everytime i type a letters, it displays the letter, then a word from th typed letter. even if i am searching for a contact, it gives me suggested words not names on the contact. i tried everything but it is still there. i use alphanumeric with my td2 but i dont have this problem. any ideas?
cheers!
when i create a new sms, and input receiver name it automaticaly searches my phonebook and suggest all the numbers correspondat to that name, using ezinput 2.1 respectively.
however now i have switched to resco keyboard 6 which seems far supperior to ezinput. however, when i input the receiver name in new sms it doesn't show numers that correspond to that name in my phonebook. how do i fix this?
