ok so the other night i realised my XDA2 had stopped vibrating all of a sudden, so i done a soft reset and it didnt help it, then i was doing a backup in xbackup so i could hard reset it and see if thast worked, but halfway through the back up i got a message and it vibrated to i canceld the upgrade and was happy, but by the end of the night it stopped again, so i backed up and hard reset, when i turned the phone onto to test the vibration, it still wasnt working. and also the battery seems to be draining itself alot quicker, im lucky to have more thatn 40% by the end of hte day if i charge it up over night the night before.
ill admit i have dropped the phone about 2 months ago, so i dont tihnk that is anything to do with the vibration stopping work, just letting u know so u know wots happend with it.
please help coz wen im at work i have to have it on silent and i dont know when people have text me (
some one must be able to help me?
dont worry now people it is fixed, i went to put it in my cradle which rests ontop of my pc tower and i kinda missed the cradle adn dropped it onto the desk, it now works fine )

I have searched the forum and have not found anything on this problem.
About 3 weeks ago my Jamin decided not to go into 'Standby' mode. I kept pushing the power button but it did not go into standby. Holding it down didnt turn the phone off either. The only way it went into standby mode was by setting the power options to automatically going into standby after a certain time. When this did happen I could not bring it back from Standby mode either. The only way for me to bring the phone back was by removing the SD card then the phone would light up.
Everything else on the phone works fine I can receive and make phone calls etc.
I did a hard reset and everything seemed fine for a while then it would start happening again.
I sent the phone in for a warranty repair and it came back saying there was some kind of software corruption. I thought everything was fixed until it started doing it again. I thought it may be the SD card so I formatted that as well. But to my suprise .. after a hard reset and without the SD inserted it did it again. I have taken it back to the service centre 3 times already and each time they just said it was software corruption and the same problem would occur. Initiall after the first hard reset the power button would work fine after a short period. The first time was 1 day then it would slowly shorten until it did not work after a hard reset.
I was wondering if there was anyone that has run into this problem ... or may know what the problem maybe. The phone is currently on a 'field test' as described by the technicians. I was told they would replce the motherboard if nothing else worked...
I would honestly rather have a new phone .... cause I have not had it for 3 weeks .. going onto 1 month ... and its annyoing ...

So I Flashed my Wing to a new rom (Open Touch v2.7), and it was working fine for a couple of hours, than it started acting up (Freezing up). so I pulled the battery and let it sit for a while, a little while after, I went to turn it on, and IT WOULDNT BOOT UP AT ALL (stays dead, off)!! After hours of trying to get it to respond, it finally got into bootloader mode and I flashed it back to the Shipped T-mobile Rom, it was working fine for a minute but when I turned it off and went to turn it back on IT WONT BOOT UP AGAIN, It just stays Dead! It doesnt even respond to charging (Unless I somehow get into bootloader mode after hours)
As of right now im continously trying to do a hard resset but it just stays dead and just trying to get it to start up at all, does anyone kno what the problem is Please?!

My Herald got the exact same problem after only 2 months of usage and back then it was still running WM5 stock ROM. I mailed the store I bought it from and got a replacement battery, that solved the problem.

If that is the case, no I don´t think it will help you.
If I read your post right it won´t charge but the chargelight will light up if you get it into bootloader? (tinking about this passage)

Have you checked the batteryconnectors? They may be stuck and not quite touching the battery and when you try to hard reset the phone flexes a bit and suddenly you´ve got a connection. Also try and clean the small metal contact surfaces on the battery. As little as a fingerprint may result in a bad connection with the battery.
At least you flashed it back to stock-if it's still under warrenty and the tricks above don't work-send it in for replacement =)

i got the same problem today i flash my wing and i cant turn it on

At first I though it was because of Toms Rom version 2, I ignored it as it happens randomly. It was at its worse when I was at computex first week of june.
Today, I finally got a chance to reflash it with toms updated rom, which is brilliant, very fast. At first I didnt have any power outs at all, but suddenly later today it happened again but this time worse, sometimes it wont turn back on. Id have to do random things like taking out the battery and putting it back on for it to turn on, sometimes, it just wont, id wait a few minutes then it it works and turns back on again.
So im sure it isnt toms rom anymore since no one else reported this issue.
I also though it could be a loose slide, but sometimes when I just try to move the slide around, nothing happens, it wont turn off, pop the slide in and out and in and out and its fine, then a few minutes later, phone is off again. Sometimes in the middle of a call it goes off.
Very very irritating indeed.
Any ideas on what I should do? Has any1 else tried this?

I have the same problem. I contacted my dealer and they seemed to know how to fix it. I have sent the phone to them, but I haven't got it back yet.
It's definitely a hardware problem, not software
Ok got it, but I need to flash it back to original ROM first or else warranty will be void.

Im really leaning more towards this being slide problem, upon testing and testing,
It turns off when:
When I am connected via USB to PC and I slide out, it shuts off.
When I slide keypad back in with its own force (not guided by the hands, just letting it drop), it shuts off.

Big thanks to DaVinci for pointing it out to me, when I tried it, no more power outs no matter how I test it!
Solution: Clean the battery terminals! Thats it. I used a pencil eracer then cotton swab with alcohol.
Saved me a lot of trouble! No all I can do is enjoy toms latest, blazing fast ROM!!!

wonder if anyone can help me.
Ive had a few problems with my phone ever since i stared to change the roms on it. Something i have just put up with as it goes with the flow. Anyway just recently my phone is really being a pain no matter what rom i have installed . It just turns off or freezes and has also now started to play silly games like all of a sudden everything starts opening on the phone, and sometimes the screen dimms to black then goes off and wont turn on unless i leave the battery out for a good five mins. anybody got any ideas about this all help would be welcomed.
JUst updated the Radio rom to the lastest one i could find on here seems to have helped a bit.

Have you disassembled it or got it wet? One of the hardware buttons may be stuck. Are they all working?
No all the buttons work ok mate. this evening ive tried a different rom and it seems to be ok ill run it for a few days see if it improves or goes back to being a pain.
I was wondering if it could be the battery its about 12 months old now (due an upgrade an dthinking of the diamond), Phone normally gets fully charged every couple of days.
Ive read similar situation in the forum, but most people state or they will send it cause it is on warranty (mine isnt) or they will get a new digitalizer from ebay or something close then try to fix it.
But my case seems a little bit different, i didnt drop it, i didnt get it wet, i didnt do anything and nothing happened to it!
I was playing bejeweled before bedtime and when i stopped as always i layed it at my night stand without any problems. Next day i woke up ( i use an old phone in offline mode as my alarm clock thank god) and just grabbed it as always and without hitting anything just went down the stairs, and when im at the street i wanna listen to some music and when i tried to use it, it seems the screen is not aligned, he recognizes my touch, but everything seems out of place (touch wise).
So thinking it could only be a rom problem i did task29 and reinstalled another rom, and nothing changed, then i tried a different rom from a different cook and it doesnt skip the alignment screen at first, but then i repeatadly (but gently) tapped many times in the crosses then it managed to get to the phone, but i cant just use it.
Btw the bottom buttons (phone call, home, back) dont work either, only end call sometimes works.
How can a digitalizer brake from night to morning alone?-_- Any thoughts?
