Let's make Bluetooth VOICE DIALING to WORK! - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

OK, I have in my hands pre-production unit of Moto MPX. It's buggy like hell in general, however one thing that it works on it got my attention.
Voice dialing over BT headset actually works on it! I mean, I can press button on my Bluespoon AX that is paired with MPX and I can HEAR in headset : "Please, say command"!
The programm that is called by pressing button is called "VoiceSignal". I can copy executable files from MPX - VoiceSignal.exe and VoiceSignalLauncher.exe to my iMATE JAM and it works, I mean it runs and it recognize commands. But ofcourse, nothing happenes when I press the BT headset button, since registry has to be altered and most likely, not only.
MPX is using MS BT stack, and it's even older obviously that the one I hca on my JAM.
So, the fact is that Voice Dialing over BT WORKS on devices with MS BT Stack.
Now, let's make our devices also work with it!
I am attching mpx full registry backup for now. I tool brief look at it and found some differences in between MPX version and JAM.
Also, there is a line in registry poinitng to VoiceSignalLauncher.exe. IMHO, that in this matter ANY voice dialing software can be used as long as we figure out the way to enable and activate this feature - press a button on the BT headset and get response in form of launching a programm + transsmit sound to a headset.
Let's rock!

Let me know if you need any files from MPX, but hurry, I only have it for a couple of days! :twisted:

mamaich, where are you?

Tere homikuust, mcmatrix
VoiceDial.ink is actualy link to VoiceSignalLauncher.exe
But there is another "voice" releated file there - VoiceSignal.exe
Both are attached

Do you know if there is a bluetooth lan over ppp profile on the mpx, this is something thats missing from the jam that i'd love to see.

Registry export
If you only have it for a few days, be sure to make a total backup in every way possible..
And export your entire registry..

I think that SDROM dump will be useful.

Any idea how to put MPX in bootloader mode? :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

NM, got it

I am having problems dumping this ROM, when I got o boot mode there are 10 options:
USB Download image
SD Download image
8 others are not ROM related.
What programm to use to dump this stuff? Romupdate doesnt seem to work, it's not seeing USB connection

Sry i dont know which programm to use. Maybe mamaich can help.
I have made a little homework and compared S100 and MPX registry.
Seems that important file is "btHFPsvc.Dll".
MPX has following interesting registry keys:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Services\00001108-0000-1000-8000-00805F9B34FB]
@="Headset"
"btHFPsvc.dll"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Services\0000111E-0000-1000-8000-00805F9B34FB]
@="Handsfree"
"btHFPsvc.dll"=dword:00000000

"Keep"=dword:00000001
"Prefix"="HFP"
"Index"=dword:00000000
"IsEnabled"=dword:00000001
S100 only has:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Services\0000111E-0000-1000-8000-00805F9B34FB]
"btagsvc.dll"=dword:0

I running the file in the T-M Compact and all working. Need improve registry.
I found something...
VDisk.dll is the driver for the extended ROM. If you look inside it is the standard CpqDsk.dll (Compaq driver from 3800) It still contains it strings.
All we need now is a user with a Compaq 3800 which looks in his registry what the parameters for CpqDsk.dll are...
either something like from here:
HKLM\Drivers\BuildIn\CpqDsk
or here:
HKLM\Storage\Profiles\CpqDsk

I Can put EXT ROM content on FTP
I saved it on PC

No need to soft reset. Just run loadvdisk.exe. If you want to always show ext rom after every soft-reset, put a link to loadvdisk.exe into \Windows\StartUp folder.
It worked for me on my JAM, however it is Read Only.
Anybody have an idea how to make it "full access" ?
Paul
ROM == Read Only Memory
(Although in this case it is not really "read only" as you can definitely rewrite it when installing OS upgrades...)
i appreciate your excurse in computer definitions :-> however, based on my previous experience with it - it can be edited. in the original i-mate it was not a problem at all.
LoadVdisk.exe is a hiden file under \Windows, how to run it?
Use Resco Explorer to open hidden files.
Many thanks.
I'm trying to unhide the extended rom but am not succesfull. I'm using the 1.11 rom. I've tried the loadvdisk, but that didnt work, any suggestions?
thanks in advance

wm2003 4.01.12 deleted my files?

after installed it on my t-mobile mda n' passed several difficult trouble on radiostack, this os such a great thing that i expect to figure on my pda. but, later i realized that the os didn't fit my expectation when its began to erase my files on the sdcard 'misteriously'.
a thing that make me become so so bad, the size of files doesn't match with the used area on the card, what kind of trouble is this? they erased my files but the space didn't change..
is there any idea to get my files back before i'm goin' to format it?
how to avoid it in the future?
thx for read it..
The only way to avoid it is to write protect the memory card by moving the slider switch to lock position.
slider switch...
thank's for ur answer, it migth be useful, but can you point the position of the slider? whether it's.on the pda or on memory? l'm using visipro mmc 256mb, n' i don't see any slider on lt.

Sorry, I forgot to advise you to install Registry Editor Program on your PPC first. (e.g. PHM Reg edit)
hi,
it's quite good, i alo thought that but i had installed "regeditce" prog so the file doesn't associate .
I'd installed the PHM as u mentioned above and ran the SD_fix but it didn't react (install or import..ect), it just opened the PHM program. Hence, i dont know whether it's imported to the registry or not now i'm waiting and hope the problem will be solved.
Thank you all
Unfortunately, it doesn't work well, after running that file, i installed two programs on storage card (HandMap and E-dictionary). Then I tried to soft reset and my MMc card was erased. oh, what can i do now ?

Hi,
How can I get the SD_fix.reg file? Thanks
hi,
the file is above
I think that the .reg file is exported form a key in REGISTRY, but when i run it, it isn't imported to the defined key exactly so the card is still erased
Help me, thanks 'coz i like the 4.01.16 of T-Mobile

Hello to everybody! I have a question: Is where any BT Manager for Qtek S200?
Did you try the one I posted? Seems to work on WM2003 and WM5. Don't know about Prophet, but give it a go

No! it is not working
It may be the different hardware. But which version did you try? Some people were having troubles with the .cab, but the .zip seemed ok.
Is it installing? Did you launch it twice?

yes, but what does it actually do, and, does it take extra resource from the device in non-bluetooth mode?

It appears just to be an interface for discovering/pairing devices, only runs when you activate it, then closes when you are done.

GSMTestMode.exe

all guys having Hermes/TyTN already - could you check if there is in \Windows directory GSMTestMode.exe file, and if yes - what is happening after execution?
it is GSM network monitoring application, it works in Wizard with AKU2 ROMs, so i wonder how about Hermes/TyTN? thanks in advance.

The file \Windows\GSMTestMode.exe doesn't exist, at least in TyTN WWE rom.

Probably some dll is missing or just it doesn't work on TyTN.
eva_d has recomended me to try NiceTrack, i've never heared about it before, googled it and downloaded it from here:
http://www.nicecuppa.com/download/NiceTrack_Release_1_6.zip
When I execute the exe on the TyTN it says: "You have not selected a COM port for your GSM Modem" "Please go to 'Menu -> Settings' and choose a COM Port."
I did this, and tried the "Detect" option on COM Port settings, but it says "Modem not found, please restart the application and try again".
So, I restarted the app, and manually choosed every COM port from COM0: to COM9: but on the main screen I always see "Area: Unknown" and "Location: Unknown", and empty signal indicator. So I guess this app is not working with TyTN

Area/Location says unknown, if your current cell is not listed in app's internal database, so that's all right. most important values are: CID and LAC - are these boxes empty as well?

Hi,
would you pls check this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=57938&highlight=engineer
Still my question is unanswered:
How are registry keys parsed and decoded ?
Could we find the string values of registry codes somewhere in the code of a .dll which checks for the value in the .hiv file ?
If so it would be in Unicode (and easily be found with my HexEditor).
Which files should be checked ?
I made a file dump with a modified version of the WM5filedump utility from buzzdev but the destination directory "modules" keeps empty (only the file directory is filled with lots of files from the ROM).
Unfortunately the ril.dll and rilgsm.* files are not among these files :-(
And if you scan the ril.dll which you can find with the explorer it only contains zeros :-(
I think we need some kind of collaborate work in order to find out how to use the TestMode or get it to work.
Also it might be of big value to find a way to have H displayed for HSDPA and E for EDGE.
(The latter is possible with the WM5 predecsoor models from HTC but not with the TyTN.)

Yes, I can confirm: that it's NOT there !
There is no file called fieldtest.*, there is also no other *.exe file on my HTC TyTN that is the fieldtest / monitor mode (got 222 exe's using the Find function of the explorer, incl. the applications installed on the storage card. Checked each of them. Negative.)
I think we should now ask eeter about the where's and how's and maybe he can upload this file (and it's no fake or trojan or the like).
But even if the GSMTestMode application would work on the TyTN I could not say that it is so great.
OK it provides the most basic cell information but it is way not as good as e.g. the monitor mode of a Nokia 6680 (which I have on that phone
OK better than nothing it would be on the TyTN.
But still no sight of a fieldtest application for the TyTN :-(

This library is complete. You can unzip it to the storage card, tap on the FM Radio.exe and it will work. I believe we need a cab maker. That type of program writes everything into the registry during the installation.

What application doesn't start?
The CAB can only be installed if you turn certification off.
I don't know if this is possible with all stock ROMs.

The FMRadio.exe does not start. The cab was installed properly without issue.

That type of program writes everything into the registry during the installation.

Yes, I know that - it was the point of my post.
But what I asked is: "Are there any other Registry entries that need updating ?"
The answer seems to be - apparently not, since another post reported it as working by just copying the unzipped files into \Windows ... but other posts reported this as not working.
Generating a CAB is easy of course, making sure it actually works may be harder.

The FM Radio I posted is better than the PDAViet's one. I have less interference or static after I upgraded to it. I am on PDAViets's 06 build and I get a clear and crisp signal off the stations I had the crappy static with the original build.
And YES, you got to have the security policies changed in order to overwrite some files in the Windows directory. Search for the SDA Application unlocker. That should fix the problem with upgrading.
In my first post I mentioned about backing up the original files. If you happened to fail doing so, try to find Dutty's FM Radio cab.
Thank you!
