I have a question about bluetooth and other bloothooth phones,
for some reason, other bluetooth phones can message me without having to create a bond, is there anyway to do this on the XDAII? Me and my housemate were trying to figure this out at the weekend, because we feel it is a good way of sending cheap messages to each other when we cant be arsed , he can send me messages from his k700i, but i cant send him one. anyone any ideas?

you are not alone
i wounder if any of you can help, my bluetooth doesn't seem to be working, have tried now from 3 phones to send things over to my M500 using bluetooth and it just gives a connection error message on the phone i try to send from? why is this? is getting v.annoying?
also why can't i send things from my phone using bluetooth like a picture for example? is this just me being stupid and missing the option somewhere?
thanks,
tom
turn on BT and make discoverable,
Turn on accept incoming beams
use beam to send stuff via BT. (Its not just for IR)
cheers for that - all is now working fine
Tom
no worries.
the beam thing got me at first too, ended up phoning orange about that....the resolution was the level three support guy told me that the m500 must not support file transfere over bluetooth!!!!
soon found out about the beam

Need your help on this guys...
I am trying to send a picture from my Nokia N70 to my O2 Mini via Bluetooth. I am able to pair both devices properly but every time I send a file from my Nokia, it always says Sending Fail.
What am I doing wrong here?
Thanks
Did you enable receive all incoming beams under Start-Settings-Connections-Beam?
Are you able to send a file the other way around?
I just did....and every works fine.
Thanks for your help!
Hi,
I just received my XDA Exec today from 02 and have been happy playing around with all the functions. Ony problem is i can't work out how to send anything via bluetooth. Surely you can send pics, contacts music e.t.c. via bluetooth. I seem to be able to send file to the Exec (although that was giving me some problems to start wit)
I have been using a XDA IIi for over a year now and thought i deserved an upgrade but if cant send anything via bluetooth on the Exec it's going straight back to 02.
Please help
Many Thanks
Richard
got it guys. it's in the beam option, just wasn't leaving it for long enough
You might also want to enable OBEX protocol, it's a setting in the registry, there are many posts on this forum about it, feel free to search.
hi
i would like to use my asus transformer as a hand free bluetooth handset
i paired my tablet with my phone, but it always said 'paired, but not connected'
i can use a app to do file transfer between my phone and the TR so i know that the two can work together
i just want to receive my phone call on my transformer..
someone can help me ?
thanks
this has been a common quesiton. from what we've seen, there is an app called syncsms to get your messages. As for taking calls, you probably would need to use google voice and forward your calls to the google voice number...
thanks....
