I don't think that this post would be of much use, but here are the instructions for installing 1.4.1.59 Widcomm bluetooth stack. These instructions would require lots of manual operations and registry editing. Maybe someone can make a program that would automate this process?
The well-known BluetoothGPS.zip archive contains 1.4.1.58 bluetooth stack which is rather old. The latest PocketPC version of Widcomm BT-stack is 1.4.1.60, but it is present only in ROMs of some devices and cannot be stolen from there. The latest PocketPC version of installable drivers is 1.4.1.59, I've got it from Billionton web-site.
I've uploaded archive and installation instructions to:
http://mamaich.kasone.com/imate/BTWCE1.4.1.59.rar
Installation instructions.
Run setup.exe from the setup subdirectory. This would install BT-stack on your device. Do not reboot the device.
Place the BTTrayCE.exe into \Windows directory on your PocketPC. This is a file from the 1.4.1.58 BT-stack, the installed version has some problems.
Reboot. Update registry on your PocketPC as written in fixes.reg file.
Reboot again.
After every reboot you'll get an error that BT cannot be initialized. Ignore this message. If you manually "turn on" BT than everything would work.
I have not tested this BT stack, it may require some additional registry modifications, but it seems to connect to other devices and you can send/receive files using it. I have not tested BT headsets or GPS devices.
It is possible to take any PocketPC 2003 driver for Bluetooth compact-flash card and install it to XDA2. Maybe someone has 1.4.1.60 or newer version of BT driver?
So, what do we gain by doing this?

You would gain a newer BT stack. It is possible to make a partial upgrade to 1.4.1.60. I've got several DLLs of this BT stack from HP's ROM and uploaded them to http://mamaich.kasone.com/imate/widcomm_upd_1.4.1.60.rar
Currently my BT stack says that it is 1.4.1.60 but this is not 100% correct as some core DLLs are left from 1.4.1.59.
For those who wish - here are instructions how to update 1.4.1.59 stack from my previous post.
1. Download the above archive.
2. Go to \windows\ directory on your PocketPC and rename files BTConfigCE.cpl BTChooserLib.dll btrez.dll wbtapiCE.dll to some other names (I suggest changing their extension to ".bak"). This is needed because they are in use.
3. Extract the archive to \Windows\ directory on PocketPC.
4. Reboot.
5. Delete the ".bak" files you've made on step 2.
You'll get a 1.4.1.60 version of BT stack.
Here are screenshots of BT stack I have at my device:

another bluetooth stack then ms's which is rather poor profilewise
but maybe at a security cost ?
http://www.pdagold.com/articles/detail.asp?a=197
I understand it being a new stack etc. What I was getting at is, do we get additional profile support (the elusive Handsfree profile for one) or a better performing stack?
One thing I might offer . . .
If the intent of this is to get voice dialing without touching the device, that is by only pressing a button on the headset to initiate a voice-dial program to make the call, there is no evidence this works with this BT stack either.
I have been reading other forums with people who have the H6315 already (mine is in the mail to me now) and none of them have been able to make this work. Nor is there any mention of this capability in any of the literature and/or documentation for this device. It seems that if this was a feature of this phone, it would be prominently displayed!
Just my .02

I think i found a remedy for the error message. Use a registry editor, then search for this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Widcomm > BtConfig
Under BtConfig key, delete the key "AutoConnect".
Should work now, at least for me

Try pasting the following to the first line of the .reg file :
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
and then leave one empty line before [HKLM etc line. Hope this helps.
problems importing fix.reg
Hello...
I tried to located the registry key as described but there is no such key in the registry under widcomm etc. "autoconnect". and i tried adding the sentence "Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00" to the first line of the fixes.reg file but still has the same problem.
please help and try to post a step by step procedure.
Thank you.

There is one reason. There is a a bug in original BluetoothGPS installation. Widcomm stack there works at speed 57600 with BT hardware, so the speed is very slow when you send files/browse network. And the newer BT stack is probably more stable. I had lots of problems with 58 build.
Still with the (Bt could not initialize correctly) messege no luck i guess for me
I can feel that the Widcomm Driver cant idintefy my BT hardware , if some one can guid me some where maybe in the registry to change some sitting .
With orginal BT driver Headset Moto E801 work perfectly but i need the Networking profile any hint out there to add it ?

Have you performed a reset after the BTTRayCE replacement?
If so I think you would have to edit your registry.
Related
Is it possible to uninstall it without hard-resetting the device ? Because i can't use my GPRS connection while it is installed. I'd also want to give a try to toshiba or widcomm drivers if they could work on MDA Compact.
BTW, is there any BT scanner proggy with logging funcionality ? (it should scan every ~ 30 secs for devices in range and make log of their MAC, type, name etc)
Thanks
bluesoleil nicely uninstalls with standard "settings\system\remove programs".
and about gprs... it should work as usually if you manually remove network card (btnic) that bluesoleil installs (delete some registry keys).
strange, but for me gprs works excelent even with this btnic.
Any ideas on the Toshiba stack? I installed it, but now not even my normal BT works after a hard reset
unistall
I think that you mean the unistall error, which occurs when you try to unistall the stack, i did that yesterday and all you need to do, is rename the BTMUSB.dll to something else, than uninstall and rename it to its original name, that should do the trick
uninstalling bluesoleil
Please help me removing bluesoleil in my add/remove prog folder...
am so clueless about this. thanks.
I don`t know it this counts but I`m using WM6 5.2.1938 (Build 18538.0.7.0.PV.HAT)Touch & Office 6.1 NetCF 3.5 ROM
and Radio ROM 1.15.00.
I found on the net bluesoleil bluetooth stack - so I decided to change it from original one witch comes with ROM (I`ve heard that this stack is better than MS stack). I installed cab as normal program. After soft reset I lost any bluetooth settings. So I remove this stack using Remove Programs (not without problems - some files stayed) - but it didn`t help - for example I didn`t have Bluetooth settings in HTC Comm Manager - "The file 'NULL' cannot be opened.".
So I found on this forum Broadcom stack build 3900.
I have done the 3900 upgrade (using this time restartradio - according to wiki) and after this the BT fails to start due to insufficient driver memory available (there is 60mb of available program memory). I`ve no access to Advanced tab and BlueTooth Manager. Soft reset the device as instructed - same thing.
Bluetooth in Settings always shows "Bluetooth is OFF".
In Remove Programs there is no Broadcom stack, Bluesoleil was.
So, my request is - What should I do to restore standart settings comes with ROM? How to remove broadcom stack? Any ideas?
Best regards,
Watcher01
One and very easy: do a PROPER hard reset and you have everything back working and then restore your backup from before the installation of BT stack.
BTW: where did you find BlueSoleil stack for PPC? Never heard of BlueSoleil writing stacks for Windows Mobile.
Find the Helmi MS_enable cab and install it; you'll get the ms stack back.
@jakubd: The bluesoleil stack for mobile isnt working on BA; will install, but you get the Null error.

==================
Hi,
I followed the pages I found on this site and I downloaded the Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro Build 21169.5.0.0 - Release 3 (grandma_pics.zip), but I had a 150 error and now I'm stucked with a device saying SERIAL||USB on a white screen (depending if it is or not plugged into the craddle) not responding to any reset and not lighting.
activesync don't detect it anymore, so I suppose I'm doomed
Did the update start as it should? It should first detect your current software version and then ask you to continue. Then a progress bar would show and update would begin (taking about 5 minutes). Where exactly has it gone wrong? Don't be afraid (Sorry if my english is bad, I don't use it so often)
I followed the howto and upgrade started, but the bargraph didn't come and connexion was lost.
Then it thrown a 150 error, and since I'm stucked with the USB screen.
When I de/reconnect xp emits USB in/out sounds but activesync stays unconnected.
If you haven't seen this screen:

then it's 99% safe to take out the battery With some builds I get an error while trying to start upgrade from 2003 to 6.x, so you might try another build... Hope this helps!!!! Good luck!!!
Unfortunately it didn't help: I'm still stuck with the SERIAL screen
Hard reset (in windows 2003 press Power + Reset)? Try upgrading to Win2003.
Nope: still stucked
When you run the 2003 upgrade, what does it say? Can't find the phone?
I just tried the hard reset.
I'll try 2003 tomorrow (its 0320 here!)
Thanks for your answers, I'll keep you posted ASA I tested the 2003 upgrade.
I succedd to flash it (well, almost
I reinstalled activesync and re-read the doc (that say I could be left w/o USB connectivity) and relaunched the upgrade (still WM6) and it worked...
mod'op:
* Uninstall AS (which failed, staying forever at "1 second left" (but remember: I use xp on a VM, on a slooow machine (XP2600+ w/ 1.5GB RAM),
* Uninstall the CE USB driver,
* Reboot xp,
* Reinstalled AS
Well, it worked until ~97%, and thrown a 112 error (CE ROM Update error); so, as adviced by the flasher, I performed a soft reset, get the 4 coloured stripes, pressed camera & voice, and I'm now stucked here: I've got the 3 options, but nothing seems to act on them (no moving between options, no change while screen-pressing more than 2s on the 1st or typing N on the keyboard.) - The device screen indicated 98%.
So, now guess I must re-upgrade, but as I don't want to end up with a paper-weight, I'll wait for skilled advice.

Why upgrade with a VM?? And why so an old ROM
With a VM because I don't have anymore w$ directly acessible (and don't want it, as I've got small HDz)
I thought the howto pages where up to date...
Anyway, I re-put the device into flashing mode and it is upgrading at this time.
I'll keep you posted of the result; but I just read the links you sent and I think I'll go to 6.1 as you say the battery life is much longer (but I don't know exactly how to do that, as it will be a downgrade.)
And about the support, I'd have been glad to do so, but I can't (I'm unemployed and been given this device, which, I hope will help me to launch a small business till the next january)
Failed @ 29% this time.
I'm currently downloading the WM6.1 version
After several attempts and many 112 errors (@ random upgrade %ages, may be low level USB interractions?) I'll try tomorrow on a pristine XP installation (friend's computer).
And keep you posted.

Yeahhh! The beast is beautiful!
PB was apparently that USB doesn't like very much my VM (or vice versa): it worked @ 1st try with a real xp.
However, 1st boot (after the 3 options setup in color bars) was triggered by MAIL+POWER, not MAIL alone (genuine Qtek 9090).
To aboutaleb504: Use a real w$, not a VM; and use the files pointed at in the 2nd link of D-2's post (I also took Office from a WM6.5 BlueAngel wiki's page and its working correctly)
Thanks to everybody tout le monde, and especially to D-2 for pointing the faulty VM and for the WM6.1 links
Please "D-Two" not "d-2" Thanks
You have seen that i have many Roms not only WM6.1
Ach, you D-Two
Yep, but I also read the docs and they say WM6.1 has the lowest battery consumption, which is important to me. That's why I choose to stick with it.
Ho-hO, Its a good thing this thread continues: I installed the 'cabs' and 'cabs2' packages I originally found with the first ROM image, and I just found that 'VoIP Setup' throw me an error:
"The file 'SetupVoIP' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling this file."
I reinstalled it but it was the same.
I'm glad you did it!! New Windows has much better functions, but I just got back to 2003, couldn't take the slowness anymore

just follow the tutorial on this thread ~ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6391896&postcount=1
If you just want reset to default factory settings, you must press all together: power + green button + red button + reset with stylus (bothom of the phone).
If you want to change language of hw6915 you must reflash with ROM update utility, but make sure there are no rom update files for radio (RadioOS.nbf RadioFS.nbf) as they could brick GSM part of the phone.
Thank you for this link about how to reinstall os, but still i dont understand anythink in this tutorial about os. Can someone make a video turotial?
If you are following that tutorial be aware! Do not "task 28 55aa" with mtty - that will cause change of the device Product ID and you will not be able to use official HP upgrade tools anymore.
Why it is that you want to reinstall rom? Does hard reset not working?

It is true that default software on hw6915 is slow - you should use memorycard for software to get better results.

What you think about this?
How to write custom rom WM on hp iPAQ hw6915.
------------------------------------------------
1.Connect your device to PC by ActiveSync (download it from microsoft page)
2.Run "Command prompt" from folder "SPL vG.39" (if using vista/7 RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR)
3.Enter this command: pdocwrite spl -n0 -b 0x20000 0 0x80000 (WAIT UNTIL IT FINISHES).
This command replaces a file in the ROM which allows you to flash ''non-original roms'',
basically software CID unlocking which allows flashing of ''cooked roms''
4.You will get a warning on your hp regarding a dll file (itsutils.dll), PRESS YES
5.Put your device in bootloader mode. (hold the two selection buttons next to the joystick
and shortly tap the reset button with your stylus)
6.Open activesync, go to connections and untick "Allow USB connections"
7.Extract "Sable_G4_1.21_UK_ROM.rar" and run "Sable_RUU.exe"
8.Press on the big "Upgrade" button
9.There will be a progress bar, when it's done it should say something like "Update finished !!"
10.Go back to activesync and re-tick "Allow USB connections".
The manual you quoted is correct for case if you want to upgrade to non-stock rom like some custom made Windows Mobile 6 rom (if you already found one), but you must ensure that there are no RadioOS.nbf and RadioFS.nbf in the folder where Sable_RUU.exe resides or else you might ruin your gsm.
If you just want to reinstall Windows Mobile 5 then there is no need for "pdocwrite spl -n0 -b 0x20000 0 0x80000" (as it is only needed to allow non-stock rom flashing).
So in order to do wm5 reinstall i just must follow my writen instruction but in this case i need skip 2, 3 and 4 steps, and start from 5 step? (of course first i need plug my device to PC by ActiveSync). ?
What is Radio?
In Sable_RUU.exe i found such files: CEOS.nbf, EnterBL, GetDeviceData and Sable_RUU.
In SPL vG.39 folder i found such files: Command Prompt, itsutils.dll, libeay32.dll, msvcr71.dll, pdocwrite und spl.
Can someone help me!
I was doing this update tranquility, I have a hp ipaq 6915 and use the windows7.
I did the first part of this
process, which installs the. dll. All right so far. I was
for the second stage and the program Sable RUU erased my
WM5, ok, so that after this process began to windows
search for the driver usb ipaq, of course, was
disconnected, then this error appeared Client_GetOSVer fail !! Error : 501.
Now I'm without my operating system.
And what I do now?
From what I undestood from your one before last post (the files included gave me idea) you have downloaded wm6 update utilities and rom. So in this case you must take all the steps.
If you want wm5 then you must download link http://multiupload.com/UTYDNBZ145 and just plug device to usb (before that put it in the bootloader mode: by pressing power button + button next to green + button next to red + reset with stylus), wait to connect and then run Sable_RUU.exe
About your question... Radio rom files are sometimes included in distributed upgrade files, so you must ensure they are deleted from the folder before start flashing. These files are usually responsible - there already been two cases to my devices - for killing the GSM chip data, so you can not use your device for phone calls anymore lets sey it is very bad scenario, so I am warning you to not to break your device!
Seems like you are left without any os at this very moment, so you should now install wm5 again and if you then want to upgrade wm6 repeat all the steps (including pdocwrite command).
If you are just stuck in bootloader google for UNI_ExitBootloader.exe
So bootloader mode is when my hp hw6915 screen show this: Serial Hp G.39 or when hp hw6915 screen is totaly off? When i try use UNI_ExitBootloader.exe it does not work because it say: Error - Cannot open USB port. So i try again and again but this time i disable ActiveSync... but still in not work. So i try an alternative method. I download Virtual box, then i install win xp, download Sable_G3_DEVICE_ONLY_hw6915-1.21uk ant try run. IT WORKS
THNAKS YOU JOGIJS ;-) Now i need your help to update my device from wm5 to wm6 o greater.
First of all - there are no official hp releases upgrade to wm6 or greater, but as I think you found one of unofficial upgrades to wm6 made by hackers.
Then - Sable_G3_DEVICE_ONLY_hw6915-1.21uk is the same as in my link http://multiupload.com/UTYDNBZ145 only difference that my file is without the radio roms.
About upgrading to wm6:
As I said before - now you need to follow instructions you posted before and do all the steps to upgrade to wm6 (remember about my radio warning! ) as you have found correct manual for wm6 upgrading.
If you understand russian you could try this wm6 upgrade - http://www.multiupload.com/QTP68IW7AM
About your question:
You are in bootloader mode when there are serial/USB + hp logo + G.39 on the screen.
If you have USB connectivity problems on w7 32bit, use this driver - http://www.multiupload.com/IE15IM9DHT Always check your device manager to ensure your Sable device is recognized!
One more question ;-) In my Hp Hw6915 i install wm for G3 chip, but i noticed that mine is G4 chip. So in future this can cause problems on mine device?
I think it is just a mislabel as mine current device is also G4 (as seen on hp's asset viewer) and it does not run into any problems by flashing OS
Maybe confusion is set by bootloader's title "G.39"... I think so, but I am not sure, what caused this for true.
Despite all - these roms and utilities worked for me (except for radio roms of course).
same problem
hello i have hp ipaq hw6915 in norvegian language i try to use your tutorial and now appear bootscreen (USB+Logo+vG.39) how can i do for resolve my problem because i try to HARD RESET and appear same USB+Logo+vG.39, you can reupload your application to other website?
under the boot screen it's .39. it's fine.
what do you want to do with your ipaq? still using wm 5 or wm 6?
I can give you a link on xda which has all the explanation on how to upgrade to wm 6 but if you want to stay on wm5, I suggest you do a hard reset. if you say after hard reset you still cannot remove program, I am quite confused. Because hard reset really put you in a basic start where everything is cleared.
try hard reset one more time...
if you still have problem, post again here... I will try to help you as much as I can...
i try HARD RESET 1000 times appear same USB(or SERIAL if is not connect on pc)+Logo+vG.39, i want to try WM6, if you can help me pls offer a solution.
download this file, unpack and run Sable_RUU
http://www.4shared.com/rar/NokqR8Q2/121_UK.html
worked fine for my hp 6915 with Danish rom - I have English now

OEM Changer changes the OEM of the Windows Phone Store with the click of a button. You don't need to configure fiddler settings or create a proxy server. Using the proven exploit in the Windows Phone Store using a proxy server and fiddler, This application automates the process with one click of the mouse.
OEM Changer is installed using an extremely simple process that will be explained in the instructions below.
BEFORE INSTALLING:
Make sure Fiddler for .NET 2 or .NET 4 is installed. The application itself works on .NET 2 or later.
INSTALLING THIS APPLICATION:
First, you need to download the application. It can be downloaded from the below "Attachments" section.
Next, extract the .ZIP file and save the extracted file where you woild like. It can be in Program Files, Desktop, Documents, etc.
Open the .EXE contained in the file. Do not touch the config file, it will break the application.
Once the EXE is open, you have installed and ran the application. Enjoy.
Once you open the application, if you are running Version 1.7 (Latest), the application will look like this:
To begin using it, put the phone manufacturer your phone is made by in the first box. In the second box, put the OEM you would like to use. Then, click "Make Changes".
Once you change your OEM, a window will appear with a proxy and instructions. This is the proxy you will use. The window looks like this:
Next, go onto your phone and open the settings. Go into Wifi and select your primary WiFi Network until you see a screen like this:
Now, put the information shown on your computer (The IP and Port) into the IP and Port boxes on your phone. Save the proxy, close the Windows Store, and reopen the store and begin downloading apps created by other OEMs.
THINGS TO NOTE ABOUT DOWNLOADING THESE APPS:
Some of them may not support the resolution of your device's screen.
UPDATE CHANGELOG:
1.0 - IR (Initial Release)
1.5 - Fixed bug preventing the opening of the application. Added proxy support.
1.6 - Added Huawei support. Added Huawei Libraries.
1.6.5 - Replaced outdated and non-optimized code. Replaced the duplicate-copy method used to put the libraries and the macro files in their correct places. Non-duplicating cuts file size in half.
1.7 - Major Update removing the application's dependency on macros. Now, the application uses a more standard and, overall, better technique to do the same thing as done in previous versions. Also, I have reduced the file size by 4.2 MB. In addition, the UI has been remodeled to work more fluidly and is now much easier to use. Also attempted to fix IP bugs. May not work on some computers. Also, Fiddler now opens automatically and closes automatically. No work for you to do this. Now works on .NET Framework 2.0!
1.7.5 - Hotfixes, Automatic Startup Config, Progress made on IP Bug.
Works great now!!! Thank you!!!

There are no risks as it is running off of your personal computer and does not connect to any servers, or really anything that could install a virus/malware to your computer. On the phone side, there are also no risks. The application spoofs the OEM-Specific applications to install like any other windows phone application. The risk is essentially the same as installing any other windows phone application.
To awnser your second question, the program will install on a ATIV S. Just set the first box to Samsung and the second to Nokia.

Have you added any rules before installing this program? If so:
Uninstall and reinstall fiddler.
Restart fiddler, make sure it works.
Open my application and click "Clear changes". Click OK to any errors, warnings, or info boxes.
Now run the OEM changer normally and see if it works now.
Ok i`ve reinstalled Fiddler now and i`ve managed to bypass this error. Probably because first i installed Fiddler for Net.2 and then over that same installation i`ve installed the Net.4 version.(Not sure about this). Now when i put the proxy in the advanced wifi settings i get no network even it says connected.Tell me this.Do i have to first open the 8888 port in the Firewall because i`ve turn it of the both with the antivirus and still not managed to get connected.

I'll do some testing and see if it works with only .NET 4. Also, for your other issue. This is a known issue and is easy to fix:
If you have multiple devices or software connected that create an IP (Connected printers, the Windows Phone Emulator for example), my app will detect that IP as the one you are using. To fix, open command prompt and type "IPCONFIG". Scroll up to the top, until you see the text "Windows IP Configuration". Now look for the names of all of the network adapters. Try each one you see until you find the one that works. To try one, under that adapter name, look for "IPV4 Address". Put that into your phone.

That`s exactly the same ip address that shows up in the ipv4 address on my wifi card (which is active) when i open cmd.Tell me about the port "8888".When i check it using Open Port Checker, it`s not opened.

Ok. Port 8888 is the default port used by Fiddler. First, go into fiddler and go into Tools > Fiddler Options. Open the connections tab and make sure fiddler says "Listening to port 8888". If not, put 8888 in the box. Next, look for the "Allow remote connections to connect" checkbox and make sure it is checked. Fiddler should automatically open the port for you if these settings are selected, but if not, just port forward port 8888, make sure it is open, and try again.
Ok.The problem was that the macro at the end when it saves the text file, it closes Fiddler too.I did not noticed that in the beginning. Now works fine.
Thanks.

Click Change OEM and getting this Error:

And when I click Open Fiddler, getting this:

That's an error with Windows itself, not my app. What version of Windows are you running? If it's Windows XP or earlier, this application will not work. I'm working on an update today with numerous new features, wait until then and see if it works (If you are not running XP)

Hello,
thanks for the app. On german Win 7 x64 i always get an error after the dialog "configuration required". The app doesn´t create a config file.
Error:
Microsoft .NET Framework:
The system can not find the specified file.
Has somebody a solution for me? Fiddler runs without an error. I don´t know, which file is missing. Tested on 2 computers.

Is this error message appearing after you apply an OEM Change? If not, just ignore the error and continue using the app.
I can't get that to work either. I am running Windows 8.1 x64 (German) which has .Net 4.0 already installed. I installed fiddler for .Net 4 but when I run the OEM Changer i get an error "The System can't locate the specified file". If I click "continue" the app starts and I can select current OEM and new OEM and when I click "make changes" I can see the fiddler splash screen for a split seccond. However, when I enter the proxy into my phone the phone shows the wifi as "connected" but I can not access anything online.
EDIT: Nevermind, I had to check the "Allow remote connections to connect" checkbox in fiddler. Now my phone can access the marketplace but the "Nokia Collection" section is emtpy now. I tried changing to HTC and Samsung Marketplaces.

The error message still comes on every startup. I always see messagebox hxxp://up.picr.de/15689246rn.png and after that the error message.
