Tmobile Web n Walk unusable

Hey guys.
I'm currently switching from Orange to Tmobile because I want Web n Walk. Signed up to WnW Plus (for streaming) and my phone arrived the other day.
Problem is that it's just not usable. It says "Locating" for ages and is extremely flakey and slow when loading pages.
I'm pretty sure it's not a signal problem. Anyone else having this experience or is it just me?

No I think its your phone.
I use webnwalk professional so I can browse on the phone and use it well as a modem and its very good. Not quite wifi speed but close.

been using it for about a week and am very impressed,plenty of 3G reception in built up areas with no dropped connections and very fast speeds(1.4mb quickest).
even posting this off laptop using vario 2 as modem with no 3G at about 230kbs.

Yep!!! Had up to 1.8Mb (quickest) and very happy with WnW.
For the money it rocks..

I've got an even worse problem now... I make calls and the person on the other end can't hear me!
Which is very annoying 'cause I can't call Tmo for help! DOH!
Time to send this puppy back.

If I select the 'Auto' option in the 'network type' (presumably this picks-up the most appropriate) then I can only connect now and again; the connection is there but pages either take ages to load or fail to load altogether.
When I select the GSM option, everything works fine (this is the settings from which I am sending this post).
Been almost 3 weeks since the problem started. I was able to connect fine for about a week and a bit when i first got the phone. Oh and for some strange reason I was able to connect all day yesterday too but not today.
Perhaps, I should say that I am on the W'n'W basic and using it as a modem- could it be that T-Mobile are capping/stopping the connection??

I am trying to use T-Mobile on my Vodafone Xperia, but it does not connect.
Please let me know your conneciton details, the ones T-Mobile gave me (manual settigns) do not work.

X1i and AT&T

Fellas, anyone of you gentlemen are using X1i with AT&T? Do you have any issues setting up internet and MMS? If you are successful in doing both, Please share with me your set up... Mine is from UK and having a difficult time setting up the X1i... thanks in advance... and yes, i have used the search button - but came up nil.

what i did was pop in my sim card then the auto configuration loaded up. After that I had to restart the phone then I was good to go.

Thank you... mine doesn't seem to auto load the settings... I wonder what gives?

I actually had to call to give the my imei details then i was up and away.
it detected my settings the att guy said user/pass wasnt used anymore blanked that out but the rest of the settings were fine

you need to go to start/settings/phone/network
click on find network and that should start the auto config

Just slid in my Sim card, turn the X1i on..
Pop show up asking to setup for AT&T...
Do you have the "Generic UK" rom??

mine also auto configured when i first put my sim card in. i have an x1a. i found out that my internet connection wouldnt work when i powered down my phone. i had to re configure my networks settings again. now i dont power my phone down when i want to turn off my phone. i just use the communication manager to turn off the phone.
any one else notice that... that is if they power down the phone using the button, that after turning back on, the internet isnt working anymore (onboard internet or my bluetooth dun for tethering doesnt work after powering down unless i re auto configure my phone network settings).

No problem with powering my X1i down at all......
Can connect to both wap and isp access points without a problem..

Yes, I finally got it to work... window mobile is still very new to me... thank you all for your input.

Xperia X1a on AT&T..unable to connect to data periodically..WHY!!!

every so often i go to get on the internet on my xperia and i cant get on the internet...a blank page just shows up..i have to do a soft reset or go into the comm manager and turn off data and then turn it back on. WHY DO I KEEP LOSING DATA CONNECTION?? this is driving me crazy....i have AT&T and never have this problem with my other phones..i have the unlocked treo pro and never had this problem..so its not an AT&T problem...
does this have something to do with HSPDA or advanced network...should i turn it off and just use 3g?
anyone??

Had the same problem when I first got my X1a and I'm also on ATT. Flashed to the R2AA NAM rom and the problem went away. Not sure if it'll do the same for you, but hope this helps.

stupid question but how do i flash the rom, and how do i know which on to use? if you can email me at [email protected] and help me out with this..i would appreciate it..

If you dont want to hard SPL, you can also download the Sony Ericsson Update Service tool and do an "official" update (just google it), but with hard SPL you can use custom ROMs which are quite nice. Just do some reading on the links that theclueless provided first.

I think it's just a glitch in WM. Every WM phone I've ever owned(starting with the MPX 220) has done this. I just turn off the Data Connection in the Comm Manager and then it will connect on the next try.

install kaiser tweak (google it) go to data connection and set it the way you want.

I have the X1A and use AT&T in nyc. With the stock and new R2AA roms, I don't experience what you described. Either hard rest and make sure the bands used are set to AUTO or upgrade the firmware. Even if my connection disconnects, it'll reconnect once I hit another link.

No internet access while in call

Ive just noticed that whenever i am in a call i loose internet connection, even on the phone itself. I first noticed a few weeks ago that it happend when tethered to my pc, but today i tried to go on the internet on the phone itself while in a call, no go doesnt work.
Ive also noticed that when i recieve an mms that if im connected to the internet it tells me that to recieve an mms it has to close the current connection.
whats the deal? on my last phone (g1) i never had this problem, connected to the internet 24/7 and would be able to access the net while in call and recieve/send mms withouth having to close internet.
Ive tried several roms, happens with the stock radio aswell. Im running a us radio at the moment with 576mb ram patch

Network limitations. You have to have a 3G connection. That's why AT&T, in those ads, tout that you can surf the web and talk on the phone at the same time when compared to Verizon. If you do have a 3G connection, though, then that's a good question.

Im on the same network as when i had the tmobile g1, same price plan. Right now my phone says im connected to hsdpa but if i get a phone call, ill not be able to use the internet while in call.,

I want to change back to a UK radio, trouble is, i run linux and dont have access to a windows machine that i can setup activesync on.

it depends on the chef that makes the rom... i had somthg similar with previous versions of OzROMs... now that is solved... just tell that to the chef that made your rom...
if on 3G you should have phone and date in the same time... on edge/gprs.. not....

you dont need a pc to change radio, you can flash it from sd just as you would flash a cooked rom. Rename the Radio to LEOIMG.nbh and place it on the root folder of your sd. Then you reboot your phone and keep the volume down button pressed to enter the bootloader which will see the rom and ask if it shall begin flash. here you press the power button and it gets flashed. Now that wasnt so hard now was it?

thanks ill flash back the a uk radio and see if that helsp. the only reply i got in the energy rom thread was saying that its standard wiith the hd2

flashed 20.10.50.08_2 radio and im now able to access internet while in a call

Over 3G / HSDPA?? EDGE is not possible in call.

Internet Help Please?

Hi everyone,
I'm new here and this looks like a good place to learn about all things WinMo
Unfortunately, i think i may have donw something to my HD2 and now it wont let me on the internet. It says at the top its connected via 3g or whatever's the strongest connection. But whenever i try to launch anything requiring the internet it comes up saying its unable to connect and to try again.
I've had the phone 3 months and its been fine. THe only changes i've made from standard is adding cookies home tab (which im sure didnt do anything) the only other thing i did around the time of it stopping working is using tree size mobile i selected "Load Default Settings" could this have done it??
I've also just noticed it wont let me call people, it just does 3 beeps and hangs up even in strong signal.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated,

anyway settings>connections>then take a look in connections see if all you're settings are still there if not go back a page and hit up connection set-up and it should put you're settings back in have a soft reset and try again call wise not sure, could be a problem with the phone that requires a hard reset(back to when you first got the device)

I'll enquire bout the bill, shouldnt be though, cos when you get cut off it doesnt let you connect to 3g, and when you call its just says connection to this number is restricted on this phone...which it isnt doing, its just not calling at all.
Been into settings and everything is on and i've done the reconfiguration to Vodafone and its still the same.
