i have to investigate if it is possible to create the complete email settings automatically at hardreset (from rom).
is there anybody here can give me a hint if this is possible and how to do?

I am unable to set up an mms account on the dopod 838pro with the 3 network provider. When I go to messaging and then new accounts it asks for an email address...Shouldn't there be more options? Do I need some sort of patch to show them?

it is in one of the CAB file in your EXT (original) that you have skipped installing.
So how would I go about installing it?

you need to unlock ext ROM and execute the CAB as usual.
Or else, if you are able to find ext ROM some where else (eg, the FTP), you can just get the CAB and execute it.
No, it won't void your warranty. The problem is finding the right CAB and avoid installing unnecessary CAB.

I am trying to figure out how to back up my today screen profile (color settings and the HTC Today plugin with my mods) so I can create a CAB for easy installation after a hard reset. Can anyone let me know what I need to backup in order to do this?

I have some problems with the mail Tab, who display the count of new messages - it's not the same as showed in the mailbox.
after Hard reset -- to get an virgin TP2 as ist was delivered -- ist works
after I' ve install my progs - and than -> the same problem
Have anybody an Idea to solve This problem?? edit registry Key ??

i would try to install one application,softreset,check emailcounter,then same procedure.
At the end you could identify, which Prog cause the problem(if it´s caused by a prog.
Would be helpfull if you post your applications you install on your Device

try spb backup 2.1.0(only this version works right in HD2) and take a pim backup with "email" tab checked too

you have to try it...after flashing a new rom and after hard reseting the rom,try to restore them.

Can this work with an Exchange account? Could you help with this just a little . So once I create the XML provisioning file with the right settings, what do I do with it?

Dear All,
I have one issue when attempting to config email exchange (corporate). after the first config screen (passed), I do no tick the option "download attachements" BUT when finalizing the account set up and first sync, ALL the attachements are downloaded! Then I tried to go back to the account parameters to check the option, but the relevant parameter (in general parameters) is not available (I do have this parameter in my other mail account)!
I have another account (FREE.FR mail which is ok , ie the attachement option can be selected or not). I have tried to erase / create the account several times, but nothing changes...
I did also an hard & soft reboot, nothing change... Of cours Acer technical assistance is useless.
To be clear, the email was working for weeks but I had a pop up "shutdown of precessus com.android.exchange" a lot of times and this pushed me to discard the account. Since this time, I am in the exposed situation.

In addition to my post, I tried other solutions :
- touchdoxn : is running well (even if I prefer the layout of the native mailbox)
- I tried to copy / PAste (email & exchange apk" from another ROM but useless since I am not rooted...
Can anyone help me to solve this issue?
