GUID?
Noob question I know... but how do I identify the GUID value for my HD2?

hi guys, can any of you help me and let me know how to get MMS INBOX back? I have upgraded to the newest Chinese Dopod ROM, I have installed the O2 MMS cab that I usually use on the English ROMs to show the MMS inbox back, but it installs but it still does not show up on the Chinese ROM.
Is there any reg hack I can do to make the MMS inbox appear again?
Or is there any other cab files out there I can try to make it show up?
Restoring the mail database after a ROM upgrade causes the error you described. When I restored my SMS/email with SPB Bakcup after I upgearded to AKU2 I found that my MMS inbox was missing.
I tried to find a way of fixing it, but honestly? nothing works. So I made a full backup, backed my sms with Jeyo. Restored everything BUT the SMS from spb backup, and used Jeyo to restore them.
I haven't restored my mail database with the backup as I do not keep messgaes anyway, so that is not my problem. As I said the cab file works perfect with the English ROM, just this Chinese ROM I cannot get the MMS inbox back.
PLEASE ANYONE?
I am willing to do it manually via registry if someone lets me know how
Have you tried launching the camera application, taking a picture and use option Send | Send by MMS?
This "unhid" my mms folder (hidden by latest O2 rom on my Exec) - no idea how or why
nope doesn't do it for me but thanks for trying anyway
try this
try this file
tried that, didn't change things but thanks for trying to help anyway. I think the main problem is the Chinese ROM system files are located in different folders to that of the English ROM therefore these cab files don't work. I think the only way is to do it manually, but I do not know the registry settings to do this unfortunately

Hello all. I am going to update my ROM, but have a quick question. My work email and calendar sync to my Mogul. Originally my works IT department had to install a certificate so I could sync. When I install the new ROM, I am betting this certificate will go away.
Is there anyway to backup the Certificates so I can reinstall them myself? I am not supposed to be on the exchange server per some stupid/outdated company policy but had a friend put me in there. I would like to not have to go back to IT as I don’t want to get anyone in trouble.
Thanks for the help.
I've exported HKCU\Comm\Security\SystemCertificates\.... into a cabfile and use this one after every new rom i'm flashing
and it's working very well.
If you export into reg-file and edit this file with an hex-editor you'll find your exchange certificate for sure. and under HKCU\Software\microsoft\ActiveSync you can find your Exchange settings (servername etc). after flashing a new rom the only thing i have to do is to enter my password and that's it....if you're unsure, you could try to import into an wince emulator and test if it's working the way you want....

Problem with Exchange

you could use dotfred's taskmanager for example (for PPC) or CERegeditor (for Windows Desktop) to export or import the registryentries.
Both tools are for free. Another solution could be SASHIMI which can also import registry files. Or you could create your own Mortscript, both are also for free.
if your ROM is supporting UC there is also a section for exchange (somewhere in the thread)
If you want to create a cab, WinCECabManager is easy, but not free.

HI Peter,
I tried exporting those reg keys out and after flashing my rom I managed to reimport them.
When I checked the certificates in Settings, they seem to be there. Checked Activesync settings, it is also there, however, when tried to sync, got this error
"The Microsoft Exchange Server requires a personal certificate to log on. Please obtain a certificate as directed by your corporation or service provider"
There was no option to key in password.
I had to re-enroll for a certificate going through my PC's WMDevice Center before able to sync with my Exchange server again.
So ... wonder whether I am still missing something that prevents me from restoring the certificates completely. Are there any physical certificate files that I need to back up as well ?
cheers

Bumpdibump, the same with me - although this is regarding a transfer from Rose to Polaris - this is the best post I have found so far...
Any luck on some specific files we need to copy in addition to the registry?
so i assume that the .cer used for the exchange server is no longer on the phone?

I don't quite remember what happened, but for my part - not sure if the cer file was there, but it didn't help much anyway since whatever cer file I tried to validate with didn't work. I am looking into a different thread using rapiconfig to get the details from my phone, but I guess it ain't enough to only get the info from registry to get the darn thing to work.

Hi!
One of the most annoying things after a flash/HR is re-setting up my e-mail-accounts. So I'm searching a way to backup only SMTP and IMAP/POP-server, usernames, passwords SSL-settings and send/recieve-schedules. The mails do not have to be saved in the backup because I'm using IMAP only. Has anybody of you out there a good and simple solution to backup these settings?
I tried SK-tools but I think this program backups "too much" for my taste. I'm not a friend of solutions like Sprite-/SPB-Backup.
I'd be really very grateful for any help!! THX in advance!!

Try Sashimi. You can use this tool for more then only mail. You can make xml's with all the settings. After a hard reset import the xmls with sashimi and done. One tip dont put the password in the xml beacuse its plain text. So when you loose youre telephone they have your password. If you put the password in the xml first time you will sync windows will ask it and give it and enable "save password". When you are usign shashimi you can also use it to install your programs. Copy files. etc
And if you want to go further you can also use it to backup files before a flash.
Hi. Thanks for your tip. I read about SASHIMI yesterday for the last time and I was about to try it anyway. Thanks again.
Hello I have read about this with other ROMS, but I was unable to find a fix.
When creating a new outlook mail account after entering your email and password, then clicking on Manual Setup the Domain field does not work. You can't type in it.
If anyone could please help.

This should fix the Domain Text field in 2016 Packages.
Also don't forget to change the app.dat file if taken from the Asian Rom as it has Chinese in there.
I believe that usually happens when you type out the domain part of your email address as well. Try just "joeblow" instead of "[email protected]"

Any other suggestions

After you click manual setup it brings it to user name. Make sure the domain is note included there. If the user name says [email protected] change it to heyo or whatever the user name should be. Btw did you change the font?

Mine does not work like that. I have never used Manual Setup but a Beta Tester found this bug. Note this is only with Outlook Account. Other mail setup is ok.
If I press open new account after flash and select Outlook, then Manual setup I get the error Please enter a valid email address. It seems that it is requiring a email address with domain to continue setup.
I'm using 6.5.3 with 2016 Messaging and the WM 6.5 font fix. But I have not changed fonts.
Hi,
configure the new account via ActiveSync, that works fine for me.
with friendly greet

I'm starting to think this is not a bug. But since I have never used this option I don't know exactly what it is supposed to do.
I flashed latest Energy ROM and it has the same behavior so I don't think it is a bug.
I will talk to the beta tester again.
Can some other cooks check your ROM to see if this is possible to write in the Domain Box on Manual setup in Outlook after entering your email and password.
The user who reported the issue says it works on other ROMS.
I tested the Latest Energy ROM and it does not work either.
Thanks

I'm not using the Latest Huashan Email Setup Package but I'm using one from 3.04 2.3.20161224
In any case could you upload your Package so I could test this?
Sure can, Huashan has Email_Setup_Wizard_2_3_20163221_20 ( so also 2016**** ) that caused the exact same issue for me. Hope the package works for you.

Ok I have found the problem. There are a couple of difference in the reg files from 2012 and 2016 Package.
I will post a updated reg file later.
