I recently unbarred my XDA 2 for all networks and currently use Vodafone. Initially it worked fine then an error came up that advised to soft reset, which I did.
I have since found that it may have removed my modem, error reads..
If you use a modem to connect to your ISP ensure that it is inserted correctly, To connect to your work network , you must create a modem (dial up) connection or a VPN connection. To create a connection, tap settings.
When I tap MY ISP list add new and manage existing, in manage existing it has auto pick (Current) My Connection (With my mobile number) and Mobile WEB GPRS Line
This error keeps coming back every 5 minutes until I turn on flight mode then it seems to disapear until the next time I try to enter MMS.
I can access the web but this cannot connect error keeps appearing.
Stronger
Hi,
My XDA 2 keeps trying to connect to somthing and everytime it tries I get a message saying there are no connections available or configured and gives me the option to configure settings or an option to dismiss.
I have had this problem ever since I tried to synchronize via infrared.
Can anyone advise.
thx
Have you tried switching off beams in settings/connections.?
Hi,
Need some help on the subject. Recently have been in another country with the roaming on. Now every time i try to send or receive an MMS the XDA just says: "cannot connect.. if you use a modem to connect to your ISP, ensure that is inserted correctly. To connect to your network, you must create a modem (dialup) connection or a VPN connection. To create a connection tap settings".
Have done, but nothing seems to work.
At tools/options i see that the connect via is correct, BUT, connect to server just apears 2 networks from another country...
So, any change to delete all the settings and old networks so the sim can "read" from my network?
Any replys will be much obliged!
:?
my cellphone load gets suck out most of the time because it connects to the internet on its own, is there a setting/program that prompts me first if i want to connect to gprs...
many thanks
Hi,
Your phone is most likely trying to connect to check your email. To prevent this happening, from your Inbox select Menu/Tools/Options. Click on your email account, press Next till you reach page 4 then Options. De-Select the box which says 'Connect and check for messages every:'
Hope this helps.
GPRS connection
I have a similar problem using exchange push email. I have established an Internet connection with WLan and checked that I can access my webmail (which is my Exchange mail). Despite this to update email the phone automatically connects GPRS - this is really annoying. I read once that this is set in the registry when one installs the operator customisations. Can anyone tell me how to change this?
this tool
http://www.gb-soft.cz/xdaII/
can be set to auto disconnect gprs after x seconds/minuts
GB Soft Tweak
Thanks for the suggestion.
I tried this and it doesnt seem to fix the problem. Although I am not excactly clear on the settings.
I tried the Turn Off GPRS option with a 5 min setting, trued Search GPRS [G] on start radio and Search [G] on start GPRS connection.
With regards
Jeff
Hi, I'm a newbie who just bought an Imate Jasjam. I have been trying to use the internet via Activesync through USB. In my old ppc2002 it does so automatically, but I can't seem to get my Jasjam to connect to the internet. I type an address in IE and it loads with "connecting..." in the bottom bar but nothing happens. It doesn't even say that the page i'm looking for cannot be found. Am I missing something? Thanks for any comments.
Follow these steps and you'll be on the internet through activesync in 10 seconds. For more information you can press help(active sync) and go to connecting a mobile device to a PC, then choose the fifth help page...
1. Click Connection Settings.
2. Select Open ActiveSync when my device connects.
3. In the This computer is connected to list, select a connection to which this computer should connected when passing through ActiveSync.
at step 3 select Internet and it will work, it works for me.....
good luck..
btw.. have you search the forum before posting your msg? maybe there is a treath already for this topic
Thanks for your reply, I've done that already and it still doesnt work. Is it my ppc? because the IE doesn't seem to load properly, it loads for about 1s then just stops and nothing changes.
You should get an error message. page cannot be displayed... or something... But right now you are at work and you don't have you ppc connect through activeSync??
but at home once you connect your device to you Pc does ActiveSync synchronize normally? can you explore your device through active sync???
do you internet thorugh GPRS?
Yeah that's why it's so strange because no error comes up at all, it just stays on exactly the same page (the default homepage). I only connect at home. Activesync syncs fine and I can explore the ppc fine. I've tried changing all these different settings and disabling my firewalls but nothing!
it stays on the same page till you succesfully load another page, but it supose to give you an error... do you have other connections configured at settings/tab connections and connections?? do you see something like manage existing connections???
I do, it's on Auto pick and the other options are telstra.WAP.GSM and Telstra.WAP
Thanks for your input Alexei, I've just done a hard reset and it works now. I must have changed some setting somewhere along the line but all's good now.
I also cannot connect my phone. In connections I have only add modem conection, proxy connection and that's it. Do I have to change the network cards or something like this?
misschilli..what setting did u changed after have a hard reset
Also check any firewall to ensure it's not blocking traffic from Activesync.
The worse is connect trought BT with AS , its impossible.
