I have a question right now I have a HTC Falcon that has a Bell Mobility Radio Stack on it and it looks like it is locked so I can not put a PRL that has EV-DO Settings into the phone I would like to know if anyone knows how to backup the Current Radio Stack so I can install a HutchICE Radio Stack that will let me do EV-DO? I can get to the bootloader but can not back up anything other than d2s (Windows 2003 ROM)
Any Help would be great
Thanks

I know, that tou dont have the HutchICE device itself, but you wrote, that you want to install it's radio stack... I'm asking, if you can post that radio stack, which you would like to install onto your Audiovox, somewhere... )

Why are you looking for the Hutch Radio Stack?
from what I was told Audiovox removed the EV-DO function out of the Bell Radio Stack due to Bell not supporting EV-DO I need to have the EV-DO Functions enabled, so I would like to test with the Radio Stack from hutch and see if they left the EV-DO calls in place.
I have tried the backup's from above this is what I get

I broke my phone!!!
I applied the wm2003 rom to my T-mobile no problems
I installed the 4.21 radio update - went ok
when the unit came up - I get no signal
unit seems slow - now and I can not access the phone app to look at settings
I went into bootloader and selected 1900 did softreset - no change
reverted to XDA-DEV ROM 1.2 - loaded ok
but still no signal
Sounds like you installed the wrong Radio Stack!
What model is your XDA and where are you located :?:

I am in Texas on T-Mobile installed 4.21 radio stack

Yeap thats the wrong one you need to install the AT&T version.
Take a look at the below PocketPC Passion thread for more info and download URL.
http://www.pocketpcpassion.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34286
Just to let you know you're going to have to install both the AT&T ROM and Radio stack then re-install wm2003.
Can you still sync with your PC? I sure how so, if not there are some step that need to be done in order to get that back up and running.
Also confirming that as of right now your radio is dead/off/No signal meaing there is an "X" on the Phone Icon?
I am just curious, I have a lot of software, and it was nice to hide it in ROM versus the limited RAM. If no one really plans this, I may just try to install as much as I can to storage card.

Hey Chris.
Maybe we can make a deal....
Which software do you want to include in the ROM?
Is ist freeware or have it to be registered?
Maybe you can send me the software and i´ll take a look at it....

Stefan
well, depends on the amount of room I have to work with
The programs I have and primarily use are:
Microsoft Voice Command
Pocket Plus
nPOP
MorphGear (game emulator)
PocketTV/PocketDiVX/or some movie media program
vxUtil
AIM (I think is included on most wm2k3 roms)
PhonExt
some are pretty hefty, but I have copies off all that I could get you. If you can give me an idea of how much room they take, I'll see what all could be sent over. MsVC has to go in ROM/RAM though, I can't put it on a storage card due to speed req's

You need the XDA-TOOLS with adaptrom to use it....
But be sure to do not install the RSU Upgrade since it is for 900/1900 MHz GSM and will destroy your GSM if its "only" a 900/1800Mhz unit...

Now is the big moment.
let see if i can smoke my PPC..
Hi all,
Could someone please advise me if i have a XDA1 or a paperweight, I use a XDA2, but as i had a old 32MB XDA1 with what looked like the version befor PPC2002 i thort i would be clever and put a 2003 rom on it.
its a uk 900/1800 PW10A1 device, anyway with delay i dowloaded the latest 2003 rom i could find ( T-Mobile 2003 4.21 beta) anyway i put the relevent file on a SD ard and upgraded that way.
As this had lots of T-Mobile bits i did not wont i found a older non network branded 2003 rom. but my problem is the devve is now listed as a PW10B1, and of ocrse i cant use 1800 anymore, ( iam in the uk and was going to use it on Orange (1800),
I have read throught the forum and tried many ways to fix this with various roms and then in the phone section changing bands , also bootloader all with no affect, the best i can get is a fresh earlie clean 2003 rom but only working 900mhz.
Dose anyone have any ideas last resorts how i can make it work on 1800 like it did befor i jumped in head first and not reading that the t-mobile 2003 rom will make it a 900/1900 device
any idea even if it compleetly kills it it was wort a try
Thanks
John
do a search in the forums there have been tons of posts about how you downgrade the radio stack
personaly i dont know because
the main reason we use xdatools to upgrade our devices to
so we can use the nbf file only making sure the radio stack is not
messed with
Thanks Rudegar
I have tried downgrading the radio, some times it works and sometimes it dose not I either end up with no radio or as i have at the moment a radio stuck on 900mhz, i have found 6 or 7 different radios but none will let me use 1800,
Is there a way i can kill the radio the hopefully get it to restore to the original
Thanks
John
Have been to the kitchen and done some cooking the last night.
Facts:Using SD card for all upgrades
Never cook anything but the Base ROM itself (e.g. no extras)
The upgrade works perfect every time, meaning it ends successfully so that I can do a cold boot to start the "new" ROM image.
ROM version org: 3.16
Current ROM: 3.20.06 ENG
Radio version: 3.19.01
Protocol version: 32S54
Model No: PW10A1
RAM: 32MB
Flash size: 32MB
SD Card size: 64MB
I have been able to switch back and forth between different 2002 ROM's
but every time I upgrade to 2003 ROM the unit hangs on the introductions screen. I see the splash for instans 4.01.19: s "Welcome to T-Mobile"
In the bottom right corner I can see the Protocol version, ROM version and Radio version numbers. BUT there it is and it does not respond to any buttons or even magic words like pretty please with suger on top.
I have tried the following versions:
4.00.33 GER, 4.01.00 ENG, 4.01.16 ENG and A.30.09 ENG
I have no problem getting back to a working unit with almost any 2002 ROM but hey I wanna try it out with a 2003 ROM.
Any ideas anyone? I have been looking around quit a bit but cant see that anyone posted something that helps me out here.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this great forum!

not sure but maybe the 32MB ram is too little for 2003
these devices are pretty rare i think
maybe you should try doing a search for people with 32MB devices
and their exp with 2003 ?

The 32 MB shouldn't be the problem. Using myself a device with only 32 MB without any problems with WM2003 .....
Maybe it's a problem with the Radio Stack...
Nearly all the providers of a WM2003 Release included a Radio Stack Update. Myself i've tested it with the 4.21 and the 3.23. Maybe yours 3.19. is just too old.....
Stefan
Ok, here we go again,
found the Radio Stack Upgrade from O2 uk (V421)
and upgraded witout problem to this one.
No I tried to upgrade with 2003 ROM 4.01.16 ENG but still same thing.
It hangs on boot screen even though it now in the lower right corner says:
G32S54
R4.21.00
4.01.16
I will try to load ROM A.30.09 ENG now.
I let you know how it goes.
/Jonas
Still no luck
Ok I have now tried will all known 2003 ROMs from the kitchen with the same sad result. (hang on boot screen as before)
I now downloaded the official O2 uk release of upgrade for XDAII (Xda_II_Upgrade_v16050.exe) when I unpack this one I find the following files that might be useful ms_.nbf, NK.nbf, Radio_.nbf.
When I try to write the NK.nbf to my SD card XDATools tells me that it does not recognize the file format.
I think I have seen something about this error but I cant find it now.
Im not even sure if this ROM will work. I can not see that this ROM is uploaded in the kitchen either but perhaps it will be?
So Im still stuck so any tips would be great and I keep testing new ways ahead.
/Jonas
hi. as LumpiStefan commended, you need to upgrade the latest radio stack. I think the radio stack 6.24 will work for you. check my posted for the radio stack.
Secondly, the radio stack will work it its specific OS rom image. for example, the radio stack for Tmoble , must match the Tmobile OS. you can not use radio stack built for O2 for Tmobile OS.
Therefore, try to upgrade with matching OS and its Radio Stack. I tried one night with all OS from Tmobile, ATT and OS to come with these solutions.

That´s wrong. 6.24 is for PW10B Models with 900/1900 MHz GSM. Do not use it on your device

hi LumpiStefan,
Okay. I am wrong. this radio stack use in USA.
Also, I don't know but I had tried to swap the radio stack O2 to run on Tmobile or ATT, the radio stack never turn On.
Also can you help me to have a radio stack version 4.20 or lower. ther repair.zip contain version 4.21. Thanks for correcting me.
Hi!
Got a question regarding the Radio Stacks. I am using an XDAI from O2 Germany, which has the latest Radio Stack released by O2 themselves, which is 4.21. During more or less aimless surfing sessions in the undocumented backwaters of the Internet (dyndns sites :roll I found Radio Stack updates with non-linear version numbering which are not ActiveSync updates but install directly from the device.
- What is the difference (except the installation mechanism)? Are those safe to use or am I bound to screw up my phone using those?
- Why is the version numbering different? After my 4.21 the site lists A20.10, 6.24.20 and 6.25.24 as available. Which one is the most recent for my PW10A1? The 6.25.24? Or can/should I use the A20.10?
The reason I am considering the upgrade at all is that I get weird "clicks" and connections losses during conersation, especially after the first few minutes of conversation. To me and the other side it sounds as if I was temporarily driving through a tunnel or something, the connections keeps up but no speech is transmitted. And all that while the signal meter gives me 70-80%.
Or could it be a problem that I am using my O2 XDA with a T-Mobile prepaid card? I always considered GSM to be pretty generic. GPRS etc. is not in use on the device.
Any input? If this questions has been asked before, please be so kind and point me to the corresponding thread, I couldn't locate it with the search function.
The 6.xx Radio Versions are for PW10B models (900/1900 MHZ networks)
The 4.xx Radio Versions are for PW10A models (900/1800 MHZ networks)
The A.xx Radio Versions could be for for any of them.....
Flashing the wron version could end your device as a paperweight.....

Are you sure you have a PW10A model? Check the rear sticker of this device. Normally ends flashing the wrong Radio stack in GSM Error.
In the wiki is a howto about this....
