My xda2 hangs at the splash, at the bottom it says "no gsm", this happened once before but then came back after charging and multiple resets. It has never been flashed and when I tried to flash in the hope of fixing it with the launch rom it hung on the gsm section because it couldnt see any gsm to delete and reflash. If I send this back under warranty does it matter that I am not the original purchaser?
Bumpity bump.

Hi Guys,
Well yesterday the Battery on my 9100 went flat this has happened before and I just charge it back up and its fine.. But this time I incurred Data Loss
Went to turn it back on and it locks on the Boot screen where its states the GSM etc.. Have gone through the usual key press to format and I keep reciving format failed
Any help would be most appriciated
Get to the bootloader screen (multicolored) by turning device off - hold camera button and turn on. Sounds like you need to reflash you device with the same or updated rom - all the wizard roms are listed in the wiki - link is top left on your screen
ul, prehaps its cos your knees are too bendy?
Imp
Ive tryed changing the rom to a newer version, but still no avail... still saying format failed.. Any more ideas before I have to send it back to Qtek... which I would really rather not do

Did you sort this out? I can get to the multicolored screen and flash my wizard but it never boots past the second splash screen. I think the extended rom is corrupted somehow and I need to clear it but hard reset just ends with format failed? Any ideas?
J
OK I am stuck at the screen showing IPL SPL GSM and OS.
I was wanting to change the ROM so I used Resco backup and made a full backup.
Then I flashed back the original Rom for my Cingular 8125 / HTZ Wizard
Then I flashed to HTC Business Edition ROM CE OS 5.2.1622 Build 18128 AKU 4.4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=376667
Then ran my restore but since I forgot to put in my name and other personal info it said some stuff couldnt be restored so I Put in all my info and then did the restore again and it said it was complete and needed to soft reset so I said ok and now Im stuck at the boot screen like I said.
Since Im at this spot active sync wont connect and I cant reflash that way.
any help or ideas would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Chris
I am sort of in the same boat, got the wizard flash with buttons image, but now it won't connect via activesync, hopefully we will both get an answer.
cholubaz,
I got my problem solved by ....
1) doing a hard reset on my phone
2) un-installing active sync AND deleting the active sync folder then re-installing a fresh copy
I wanted to pull what little hair out that I have left, but it all came out good.
I fixed mine too just a few min ago
Mine wouldnt even hard reset. Holding the Power button down did nothing no matter how long I held it down.
I took the battery out and put it back in after a few min to a few hours and still it would only boot to the same screen I mentioned.
What I found out was that if I held the camera button in and then turned on the phone I was able to get in to boot loader mode and then I was able to reflash to a new ROM.
So Im back in business now
Cheers,
Chris
I have read and read and read. I have "bricked" my phone in the past and fixed it. I have used, tested, and flashed many roms from this site (Thanks to all cooks for their work!) but I still consider myself somewhat 'new' to troubleshooting.
I woke up this morning to make some important phone calls today and as luck would have it, my phone was stalled again. It's been doing that for a few weeks now. My last flash was Open Touch 5.0 UL I believe (either that or 5.2 biggy) and it has been working great except for the occasional freeze.
EDIT: Forgot to add, the actual problem is now it won't boot up after it froze this morning. Just sits at the boot screen
So I've tried my other methods of fixing it... /edit
Except this morning nothing is working. I have tried flashing with Orig. T-mobile ruu, tried SD flashing with the RUU_signed.nbh, tried restarting the computer, phone, removing battery and sim... NOTHING! When trying the sd flash (which I've never done before today, it reads and tells me to push the down button but then goes to bootloader screen and just sits there. With the RUU I'm getting err 300 but I'm using the SAME RUU (4.10...) that I've used in the past to reflash my phone AND tried the new one (4.26...)
Possible problem: Does it matter what kind of usb cable you use? I don't have the normal one I use as I am not home but I figured usb is usb...
I've read about it being a motherboard issue, how common is this?
I've read somethings about MTTY, would this apply to me??
Please help, anyone who has any suggestion, I'll try it!!
Stats:
IPL 4.10.0002
SPL 4.10.0000
NOT hard-spl'd
Wing w/ Open Touch Project 5.0 or 5.2
actualy the sd method needs hard spl thats all i can really provide
I appretiate it, that I did not know... I could barely find anything on how to do it even.
im having the same problem bt instead of freezing da screen jus goes different colors or jus goes gray and stays der
Thats basically what mine did. The colors would get messed up and no matter what button i pressed it would not do anything. My advice to you edrift, is BACK UP YOUR STUFF NOW and reflash it asap if you can still reboot. I can get into my phone at all now.
yea i tink i might jus throw my phone away.dis is jus gettin rediculous
Hi everyone,
Without any mods the phone randomly turned off while writing an email. When I tried to turn it back on I noticed the red text on the white "HTC" screen was gone, it would then reboot and do the same thing over and over again.
I've tried the "restore" with the two dot buttons but it did nothing, The boot loader screen only shows"
"TITA100
SPL-1.01.0000
USB/Serial (depending on if the USB is connected)"
I didn't have time to unlock it so I can't get it past "loading..." when I try to load any ROM. Telus has replaced the phone but I'd like to get something on it, original modified or Linux. I'm also a complete n00b with this so PLEASE help!
I forgot to add, I don't care if it connects to a carrier, only wifi since I'll only be using it around the house. Thanks
PROGRESS!
Alright, I pulled the latest Telus ROM from the executable download on HTCs site as explained somewhere on the forum.
the bootloader shows
TITA100
SPL-2.07.0000
CPLD-9
Click to collapse
in the red area and
"USB" or "serial" in the white.
Does that help any?
Can someone let me know what is suppose to be on this screen so I can try to figure out where it's getting stuck?
Got it!
I just had to switch back and forth between the two .nbh files in the Telus download on HTC's site. Only issue is wireless isn't working but I'm sure that wont be as hard.
Thanks everyone
Well looks like my HD has developed a nice fault and is going to have to go back to orange.
The screen is black and no leds light up (charge etc) The hard buttons respond to being pressed and indeed if I press the phone key the screen does (or at least the tones corespond correctly(
I have\had been running HSPL, Dutty's 6.5 rom no worries.
I can get get activesync to see the device ok but obviously can not see if I can get into bootloader mode.
Now I'm going to attempt to restore to stock before reporting the fault in order to try and avoid "oh the software has caused the hardware fault"
I've managed to restore back to the orange stock rom (obviously now unconfigured) or at least I think I have as it ran through the install screen ok and the phone rebooted (or appeared to going on sounds only)
Now my only issues is to try to restore the stock SPL, however as I've said I cant get into bootloader mode (or cant tell if I'm in it) I've tried running the Hardspl and extracting the stock rom into that, but I'm just getting an error here. USB\Connection errors.
Tried rebooting etc but no joy.
Anyone got any ideas ? Or am I just gonna have to bite the bullet and see if it get's picked up?
cheers guys
I could be wrong, but I always thought when you flashed an operators own ROM it set the SPL also. I could be wrong though, but this is certainly what happens when I re-flashed my O2 Orbit back to the original software.
cheers fella will bite the bullet and report the fault and see what happens.
