I have got two Wallaby. I bought from a guy, who killed the radio rom on a O2 XDA, bought a 1010 with a broken screen, and take the mainboard from the 1010 to the O2' case.
So I use a Qtek1010 mainboard in an O2 case.
My problem:
Booth of the devices there is a label in the back side, PW10A1. But if I go to the start->settings->device information->identify the Model No.: PW10B1
My IMEI number is equal with the IMEI printed on the 1010's case label. And as I wrote, on this label there is a PW10A1
I use Vodafone, and in my country they provide only at 1800MHz. The receive level is good, phone work well. (As I know, the PW10B1 model works on 1800MHz, but works fine at 1900MHz.)
Can I update the radio rom from here?
http://www.uspocketpcphone.com/id5.html
Thanks,
Sala
PW10A1 on the label = 900/1800.
PW10B1 on the label = 900/1900.
The probable reason for the disparity between your label id and your system id is that somebody has flashed the rom previously. The phone remains 900/1800.
Thank you!
Oh, its true.
I understand. The guy flashed with a Progamme B fro a PW10B1 device.

Yeap sounds like its time for a radio stack upgrade!
HTH
Did you get the device type from the rear sticker or the device info ??
The rear sticker is the main reference ... if it's still the same mother board of course!
If it's PW10A then RSU upgrade might help to get the 1800 MHz signal.
How to upgrade the radio stack & from where to get it?
Many many thanks
www.yorch.net the upgrades section
Little mistake - My model # on the rear sticker is PW10B1
Little mistake - My model # on the rear sticker is PW10B1, not PW10A1...

Contact the dealer who sold you the Qtek and ask how you can get the latest officially supported version of OS and radio installed.

Not sure if i really could help you. But your model is PW10B1 so you can only use 900/1900 GSM networks. There is no possibility to get it working on 1800.
Maybe this causes your problems...
Stefan
just flash to RSU Version 4.21-900-1800 and in GSM boot menu select 900-1800

Click to collapse
That would be a bad idea.
The Radio Stack depends on the hardware version. Since he has a PW10B modell, the device is just designed for 900/1900 Networks....
Flashing the 4.21could set the device as a paperweight...

Hi,
I have a small problem and I don't know what to do.
As I disovered romkitchen I started to upgrade my qotek 1010 and now I see that on the back of my device it is written that it's a PW10A2 model and in my device information it is said that I have PW10B1.
As far sa I know PW10A2 means that I have a device 900/1800 and PW10B1 means 900/1900.
Is it very bad?
How should I deal with it?
my actual rom ver is 4.02.04 ENG and radio ver is 3.19.01 ( which I have also upgreaded before I'd read that it is better not to do so )
Thank you for all Help,
Orka
The naming in the ROM are fixed and do not depend on the real hardware settings. But that do not matter in using the device....
