Help VPN - Wireless - GPRS - Networking

Please can anyone help. I have an XDA ll
I connect to the web useing GPRS
I connect to my offices useing VPN
I have purchased a Socket Wireless Lan SD card (the Sandisk card did not work, but the Socket card did immediately)
My problem is if I set the Wireless card to allow me access ot my PC I can sync and view files but if I try to go on the web (via the PC) it trys to connect with GPRS.
If I set my network card to access the internet I cannot sync to the pc or see files on the PC
Surely there must be a way that allows the Wireless card to connect to the internet and the PC at the same time AND WHEN THE CARD IS REMOVED internet reverts back to GPRS and the VPN also works
Any help please
Thanks
Sam

Can XDA1 connect directly to a LAN?

OK, it's time for some stupid questions:
Can I connect the XDA1 directly to a LAN to access the internet? Can I buy a "network" card for the XDA1?
Can I access the internet directly from XDA1 connected to LAN attached PC via ActiveSync?
Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
yup, you can use your XDA to Internet via ActiveSync....
no LAN card for XDA as there is no SDIO.
or else, GPRS or dialup is your other options.
A company called Portsmith sell an Ethernet Adapter (MobileDox) which you can connect to XDA 1 using a serial 'hot-sync' cable.

Click to collapse
why ?
to expensive
as said go via aycnc
and you can setup to use the network that way >
on pc setup VPN network
on pda setup to talk to that network ie
myworks --> computer network address -- ie 192.168.100.100 etc
open up internet explorer etc waaaaa laaaa

Internet thru active-sync & Internet with sd-link 11b ca

hi,
Just got my XDA 2, can not figure out how to configure the unit to allow internet access thru my laptop in active sync, have an 802.11b network card in my laptop ?
Secondly, have a C-Guys 802.11b sd card, loaded the software, shows it is connected to my 802.11b network but will not allow me to access the internet with internet explorer - any ideas
Thanks, john

cant get usb to send internet to pda!!!

I have searched everywhere (here and on other sites) and it seems like if I tell the activesync to pass through to the internet, I should have internet on my pda when connected via usb...
This is not happening! I went through all options and used a few troubleshooting things that nobody seems to mention (like ipconfig from the ppc msdos console) and I can't figure this out at all!
I am using a wallaby (siemens sx56) plugged into my laptop, which is wirelessly connected via home network into cable modem. I put every .exe file in the program files/activesync directory on the "pass through" list of the firewall.
When activesync connects, all looks normal unless I try to get online via ie (from the pocket pc). If I go to the ppc dos prompt and try ipconfig, it reads me back 192.168.55.101 as the ip address, and 192.168.55.100 as the gateway. These are not close to my network settings. It can't ping my laptop and my laptop can't ping the ppc using the above address.
What am I missing??? I am using xda-developers operating system and activesync 3.8 on my laptop. PLEASE HELP!!!!
ps. I am planning on getting a wireless card for the ppc - might I still have this problem when I try to connect using that too??
Thanks -- AshayinFLA
wallaby's SD interface dont support SDIO which are wifi and well everything but memory SD cards require
so getting wifi will not help you
activesync have some settings related to sharing the connection
so theres no way to get this thing online (except pay for cellular service or <supposedly> through usb cable)?
That sucks!
Anyway, as for the usb thing, I looked through activesync on my laptop and the only thing i could find is where it should connect to (internet or work). I tried both with no results. Is there anything I'm missing?

Help:Internet via Wifi

I am trying to connect to my office internet via Wifi. On my old atom, I just type proxy:80 on the My Work Network proxy and it will work.
On my new Wing, everytime I type proxy:80 and then open the IE, it can not connect to internet and while I check on the My Work Network the proxy:80 that I type before was deleted.
- If I syncronize the Wing using usb cable and connect to my laptop that plug to my office network, tha internet is work well.
- If I run on save Mode, the proxy:80 that I type on My Work Network is saved and I can connect to the internet.
Any hint and clue ?
