Unlocking the T-Mobile Pocket PC Phone Edition

Hi Xda Developers i have a T-Mobile Pocket PC Phone Edition and i need to unlock the phone so i can use it back home in the Middile East and here is the information about the phone
Rom Version : 3.08.10 ENG
Radio Version: 6.02
Wallaby Bootloader 5.15
and i'm working on getting the serial cable from the website

but i found there two types of serial cables
1-Serial AutoSync Cable for T-Mobile/O2 XDA Pocket PC Phone
2-RS-232 Serial Comm cable for PocketPC Phone
which one do i order for my device and would be appropriate and if i got everything needed would it work for that device and unlock my phone so i can use another SIM Card other than T-Mobile SIM Card
Can you please help me XDA Developers and thanks again for that Program and for the hard work.

I forgot to add that my country GSM network is 900Mhz and my device is 1900/900 Mhz so is it gonna work over there?

I can add that the Serial Cable on T-mobiles site worked fine for me, and I have the same settings as you on my XDA. All you have to do is just follow the simple instructions under the program download area and it takes like less than a minute. And yes thanks Guys, this program is great and really something to help us all Muc love to you all. lol

installed evrything went on great looks great but it is still locked did the unlock program u have error getting unlock code please help everything else is sweet

xda manipulator

ok i have a siemens sx56, i think version 3.14 software, i bought a serial cable off ebay, and tried to use the xda manipulator, the pda tried connecting but with no avial the software was saying searchign com ports, i followed the direction on this site, of softe resetting and wat not, didnt work, so i downlaoded xda unlock, i managed to tranfer that o my phone, said error findin lock code, wat should i do now, shold i ugrade with the special edition rom, will tha xda manipulator work than, i just need to get it unlocked, but i would liek to reset the call timers and change the imei because i foudn this phone. please let me thank guys

i am dumb my rom verios is 3.14.03 eng, radio version 6.12, protocol 324e4, i cant use xda manipulator, tried xda unlock says 'error getting unlock code' , tried to install rom but it says i have to have the power cord and serail cable connected at the same time, which is impsobile because the are the same port, unless i buy a usb if that does both from whati heard, so wat should i do, help me out guys, thanks

Here is a pnewbootloader for ROM version 4.01.16

I blew my bootloader some how and spent some time modifying the pnewbootloader source code to make it work for WM2003 ROM version 4.01.16
I took original source code by itsme and added version and address information for ROM 4.01.16
Use this in conjunction with a valid 5.15 bootloader image to downgrade your bootloader imaget to 5.15 from 6.22 or 5.22 or 5.17
type pnewbootloader_40116.exe bootloader_v5_15.nb0
to apply the bootloader.
FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK. This program uses defined ROM addresses and will only work with known ROM versions. There are some basic checks to prevent damage.

Fixbootloader don't work
I have T-Mobile ROM 4.01.16 with bootloader 5.15 probably locket by this T-Mobile ROM (I can't flash any other ROM and original pnewbootloader whrite message "Unable to find flash info offset, cannor disable bootloader writeprotect")
When I trying to start you updated pnewbootloader, my WinXP popup a message
"The application failed to inicialize properly (0xc0000135). Click OK to terminate the apllication"
What should it be?.. :?:

This application needs ActiveSync and also the "itsutils.dll" to be located in the same folder as teh EXE.
Which version of XP are you using. I built it on a XP pro SP1 box.

I have exactly the same: WinXP Pro SP1
I run in cmd "pnewbootloader_40116.exe bl515.nb0"
from the folder, which contain
pnewbootloader_40116.exe
pnewbootloader.exe
itsutils.dll
pput.exe
bl515.nb0
Activesync 3.71 i connected to my XDA.

Cant really say why you are having this problem. But one this might help.
Seems like your .net framework is either old or not working.
Go to windows update to download and install the 1.1 .net framework or visit

Thank you for your help! The problem was realy in .NET version.
I had 1.0 installed on my WinXP.
After updating to .NET 1.1 your program is working fine. And it seems, that it updated my bootloader. Its output was
pnewbootloader.exe bl515.nb0
in FindFlashOffset (or somthing like this)
protection found at 8c0d62c8
result: 00000000 00000000
After that my device is still bootable and boot my 4.01.16
But I still can't update my ROM to 3.17.03 through XDATools..
Can anyone help me? plzzzz!

are you using xdarit to write your image to SD card ?.
You have to use SD card flash method to upgrade/downgrade the ROM.
Download XDarit and use that to write the image (.nb1) to SD card in 1k header format.
Then reset and boot your pda after holding the power button. You will see a menu which will let you flash your PDA with the image on the SD. Search for xdarit on the forum. You will find SD card flash process also.

I was unable to get into the bootloader anymore. I trid to build a boot loader upload SD card and it wiped out the boot loader from my PPC.
GSM error might be due to you Radio firmware failure.

would this fix my broken bootloader?my unit doesn't display anything on it's screen, I think I've already erased my bootloader pls help me, I'm so desperate about this.... i tried everything which inside this thread but my activesync can't detect my unit...SOS

I have an xdaII, and I've somehow overwritten the original bootloader v1.06 with a corrupt bootloader image. Now my xdaII is completely dead. No leds flashing, no screen, no button response. All I get is a flashing red led when i rty to charge my xdaII without the battery. It seems I can't access my bootloader anymore. Plz help !! If you know any method to access the boot loader agin it be a great help. Thanks.

sorry guys, it has been a long time since i sold my XDA, but i think pnewbootloader will only work if you are able to connect your pda to PC with activesync.
So you should have a working XDA, with a broken bootloader to get it fixed. Seems like in your case, Both the ROM and Bootloader are corrupt. I am not sure about any process which will fix both at the same time.

wallaby usb flashing
hi there ,,can anyone tell why when i enter usb flash mode i cant flash via it wheni try to run a upgrade program it says plug in yor pda and on the pda screen all i get is usb flash mode,,connect usb cable now... but it is lso in my device manager i see my pda as a windows ce devices so what the hell is going on ?
pls dont tell me only way is via sd card surely it can be done via usb lead if so please can some post a step by step on how to flash via usb as i did so already from pc2002 to win2003 using the rom from xda developers and now i get a logo Ozup and underneath says ,,this os image is meant for microsoft employees or technicians bla bla bla
but i can enter boot loader fine access all the menus in bootloder my bootloder version is v5.15
pleaaaase someone help me

There are two possibilities to flash a device:
1. In Bootloader via SD Card
2. Normal booted device via Active Sync
But i do not know what you mean with USB Flash Mode

i have a big problem and i think your the only person who can help me my problems occured when i went to flash my wallaby device with this rom ftp://xda:[email protected]_ENG.exe/
i wish i never bothered the device was perfectly running fine until i flashed it with this via usb it all was a succes when i done a hard reset i got a screen with a oz up logo and underneath it says "microsoft internal use only" this operating system image is meant for use only by microsoft employees and contractors ,,and the crazy thing is i cannot enter my bootloader which was v5.15 so i can flash it via sd card its vanished no bootloader only that screen and on the bottom right corner it says ,,g32s54,v4.08,3.04 when i plug it in usb all i get is a unknown device and i cannot flash it so please if there is a way even if its pretty technical i would be honoured if you can help me out i would be very grateful if u cn show me a way of getting the bootloader back many thanks

hi i,m really upset if i can only get acces to the bootloader i can atleast flash it via sd card so please if theres a way of getting back the bootloader or somehow flashing it back please any help would be appreciated

don't use the 4.16 use the rs 4.21 when i did the upgrade i was then able to connect to active sync then changed the rom try the special rom 1.2

mate the problem i have is that i cant acces the bootloader for me to do anything its gone and this happened after using that dodgy rom
all i want to no is there a way of putting back the bootloader on to the device as its not there its been somehow erased after the flash i done

mate if you try what i said to try this should help you to connect your phone back to your pc then you can change the rom from there you shold get bootloader back when you put a new rom on

Urgent Help Needed Please! "No-Gsm" BRICKED?

i posted this in another thread but no one replied so thought this one mite be more busy.
i am new to all this and i stupidly went running into things and tryed to ROM upgrade my t-mobile MDA Vario II (HERM300), not knowing i had to CID unlock first, it has broke! when i boot it up i can not get passed the t-mobile splash screen and it also flashes "no-gsm". i have read many suggestions on fixing this but i have had no luck. i can get into the boot screen however and get the red green and blue stripes.
i have IPL 1.01 and SPL 1.04.
it will allow me to connect to my PC with USB but active-sync does not recognize i have connected the phone.
please help someone. i just need a way i can get this thing working again. if i could just get the phone into a state of use again that would be good.

please help, at least let me know if Ive got a chance of repairing it

i believe if you can get it in to bootloader mode you can flash back to original rom and start over

i thought that to but when i tryed the t-mobile rom it said "connection error" and also said it should be connected through active sync. but then agen it mite of been the wrong t-mobile rom but im sure it was for the vario ii. do you have a link to the one i should try please?

i downloaded the official UK shiping rom from t-mobile site and upgrading now through bootloader. will report on what happens.....

If that doesn’t work, flash the radio using HERMflasher" please could someone tell me how to do this, if this is the solution to my problem or if there is another way around this. thanks.

ok, i have tryed that "sim and cid unlocker" and i beleve that you have to connect with active-sync because when i tryed it when i was in boot loader it said that it was not connected but it was. i will get my radio version now.
EDIT: my radio version is: 0107
EDIT2: also, here are some other numbers (which i dont know what they mean but mite be needed) which apear on boot-up t-mobile splash screen, in red letters/numers, just before "no-gsm" flashes on:
M 05
S 04
B 06
D 1.21

If you can get into the Bootloader (Rainbow Screen) you should be okay (Not a Brick)
Go download a Radio Rom from the wiki.
Enter Bootloader first, then connect to PC. Then flash the Radio Rom.

ok, ill try that, does it need to be a perticular radio because im not super CID? for some reason the link will not work.
