QTEK Death ? - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

I have made an upgrade from wm2003 4.00.01 and radio version 3.14 and i'v cook a rom at kitchen.romanweb.com, i'v chosen the 4.00.16 ENG T-Mobile US, but at the end of the upgrade via usb cradle, when i reset the phone e doesnt apear anything, than i press on/off button an reset and apeard the wallaby bootloader v5.15 with gsm ok.
I didn't know at the time what it was, then i come here, i'v made a sd card flash with XDArit then upload with checksum ok, and once again when reset, the same, the wallaby boot loader.
I'v just entered the NK.nb1. I'v tried diferente roms. is it death ?
ps. i hate to say this but, i dont have a backup of my old rom
Help-me Please ................[/b]

How are you resetting the xda, you need to disconnect the battery for one minute, you do this by unscrewing the stylus and using the top half to poke the hole in the lower right of your xda, after one minute poke once more, do this after using the sd card flashing method.

XDA1 Software upgrade.. now it wont power up

Hi got the xda1 rom/radio upgrade from o2 web site.
installed radio upgrade first, it then asked me to remove ac power, i took it off dockign station, it rebooted, asked me for a simlock.. to which there was no mention of in the upgrade instructions.. i turned it off and on, and now it wont even boot up.. comes on with 02 logo.. then a white screen with blue banner at top..
what can i do to fix it??
i cant even see it on the pc!!!
please advise, i really hope i have not broken it.
can o2 do anything?
i can get to the bootloader by holding down power when soft resetting phone.. comes up with gsm error...
then nothing....
i can get to other menu about sd backup ect if i hold down the two buttons at top of unit when in bootloader.
how do i go about repairing the radio and rom ??
is it possible?
bootloader
ok, i can copy the rom ect from xda to sd card... and even copy it back over again.. so if i put the sd card in a reader on the pc.. and put a good rom and radio on it.. will it work ok booting off the sd card?
i can get to that menu from the bootloader..
You need to get a working rom installed then try to address the gsm error, I never heard of an xda asking for sid code when doing an official upgrade. Did you leave your sim card in the xda when it was updating the radio stack? You may be aware from reading on the forum that radio stacks once corrupted are very difficult if not impossible to rectify. I would suggest unpacking the rom you downloaded, burn just the ce part to rom using sd/bootloader method, then try to install gsm again, this time without sim inserted, you will find here on the forum the instructions to burn gsm from sd card, do this after you have a working bootable system. Good luck.
yes., the sim card was in the system at the time.. its an 02 sim card however, so i guessed this was ok.
printed out the 10 page instructions on how to upgrade s.ware so there was no problems (like this)
the radio stack was installed before the rom if that makes any difference?
is it possible for the xda1 just to lock up like this without having done it the way i did?
perhaps it would have done this anyway??
just thinking i could bring it back to place i got it at and not inform them of the s.ware upgrade that caused the problem to see if they can replace it or something...
just an idea, coz at the moment im kind of stuck.
Hi ...
If you managed to reinstall the ROM through SD card, does it mean you have a bootable system but the RSU doesn't work ?
If so and you can access the XDA from Activesync, then you may locate the 4 files of the RSU upgrade from the \windows\startup directory ... delete them then a hard reset may flash the original RSU back if it's not screwed up.
it should be possible to flash the rom via sd, as i can dump the faulty one to sd and then back over.. so, that part of the bootloader works.
ill ring the place ig ot it at and see what they can do, as it just "went off, all by itself"
i would try the sd flash myself but i aint got a card reader for sd.. just smart media.. lol
it doesnt sound as bad as some peoples s.ware problems however, as the bootloader seems to work ok.,. so fixing it may be possible, but ill give place i got it off a ring first.
thanks for all the info.
If it is under warranty and using the official flash upgrade destroyed the gsm radio stack then O2 should repair or replace. Radio stacks are very difficult to repair and people have asked about getting it fixed only to be told the mainboard needs replacing at huge cost.
thanks for the info, i got a sd card reader, but when i put the thing into pc it asks to format it so it wont read the stuff ive dumped from xda to the card..
oh well, ill give these guys a ring to see what they can do.
where can i get hold of the files to put to the sd card?
ive got the rom/radio files, but they are pc exe`s and not seperate files..
well, i got it flashed ok using official 3.17 s.ware via sd card..
on powering up, it still fails, just white screen with blue top, although there is a keyboard icon on the bottom right which was not there before.
still get gsm error on bootloader..
if only there was a way to put new radio stack on it via sd

xda1 GSM ERROR- not able to reload from SD

I WAS PERFORMING AN UPGRADE ON XDA1 and got and error and the suggeation was to reboot and that the pgm would recover. Whoever wote these programs must have been in LA LA land when he/she wote them. Now my XDA1 shows only an OS version when it boots and no radio stack. When I now want to reflash with the help of the SD card I do a soft reset power button ritual and get a GSM error and no option to load from the SD. Does anyone know how to get out of this mess? Please give me detailed instructions if yo do
I have a similar problem. i flashed, but it must have failed or been bad versions. i write to the sd but it doesn't boot. i tried the wallaby bootloader but either i scrod the pooch, or it isn't working. if i let it boot, it halts at white screen with top blue strip. if i leave itr go, it reboots after a while and the cycle starts again. i have v5.17 bootloader onboard.
Help!
Since my post I have given up trying to fix the device myself and have sent it to Siemens here in Canada. For a fee of 35$ can they will reflash my phone if that is all that I have screwed up. I have also found out that for the SD card to be recoconized with a new ROM it must be loaded on the card with OSItools. Otherwise it won't. I am using bootloader 5.15

Done a bad bad thing ? Not booting. Please help !

Hey All,
Recenty tried to upgrade by Wallaby using the SD card/Bootloader trick. Cooked a ROM for MW2003 SE and got it onto the SD no problems.
All went through per the instructions and I was happy.
Did a hard reset. Waited 30 seconds and then did another hard reset.
Unit will not boot.
Do a soft reset. Still no boot.
Hold down power and do a soft reset gets me into the boot loader.
So, I have a unit which won't boot.
Any ideas ?
Cheers
Sonny
try upgrading again ?
try downgrading to an old 2003 rom ?
I tried about 3-4 different ROMs that I cooked. None worked. Same problem.
All started when I loaded in the T-Mobile update.
Should I try loading the same ROM a few times in a row ?
Cheers
Sonny
tried the fix bootloader in the xdatools ?
I have bootloader 5.17 so using the bootloader patch which is working fine per the instructions on this site.
When I load in the T-Mobile ROM, everything is fine although the SD Backup application doesn't work and I can't restore all my backed files.
If I could get SD BAckup to work, Id be happy with the T-Mobile ROM.
When I load in the T-Mobile ROM, the Wallaby Patch loads the ROM and checksum is ok. When I use any other ROM, the unit will not boot and the Wallaby Patch gives me a checksum error.
So, is there another version of SD Loader I could use ?
Oh, and when I try a .EXE ROM, like the 2003 ROM, I get an error about the USB port being closed and I can't get the file to load.
Any ideas there ?
Cheers
Sonny
You can try downgrading the bootloader.

Qtek 1010 stuck at boot screen

I am sorry, this has probably been covered before but I have search but can't find it at the moment, my Qtek 1010 is stuck at the boot up screen where it shows Qtek.
I have upgraded the rom using the SD Card and still you reset the phone and it just sits at the first screen with the Radio and rom versions at the bottom of the screen......
Please help.
Thanks
Went flashing process fine? Checksum OK?
Had you done the hard reset?
Have you tried reflashing it again?
Stefan
I reloaded Rom from SD card and reset with the stylus in the little hole in the bottom and same problem, it can't get past the boot screen.
Sorry all, I installed the original rom and everything is fine now.
Thanks for your help, this is the greatest site.

Just short question?
Which little hole? There are two.
One on the side where the earphone connector ias, and one on the other side....
Stefan
Hi LumpiStefan,
I was making a mistake and yes not reseting the phone with the little hole, I have an XDA Mini and I forgot all about the other little hole that you unwind the stylus for.
Only problem is it doesn't fix it, The only rom I can get to work on it is the HTC Qtek v3.18.04wwe, it is the only rom that will boot into the operating system, I have tried other roms from this site but none of them will boot, I did get the 2003se rom to work but the phone part didn't work, it was like there was no radio, there was no signal graph up the top, so I tried to install the 2003se rom over the top of the working Qtek rom and same problem, it can't boot.
I really want 2003 on the phone so I can put Voice command on it.
Any help would be great. Thanks
I have downloaded nearly every rom and no 2003 rom will work, they all just after I hardreset it want go past the boot screen. So I load the old Qtek rom back on every time by SD Card and everytime it boots up fine, I don't understand, why does the Qtek rom work but no other.......
Any help please...Please...

Newbie: cannot install Hard SPL for love nor money help!!!

Before anyone ask's I have read all the posts regarding installing the Hard SPL but still have the same problem.
When I connect through Vista 32 via WMDC it recognizes my device fine, I then follow the steps in the tutorials but as soon as I press the button to update the ROM image it goes into the 3 colour screen and then into the updating ROM progress bar were it sits at 0% for ever.
My WMDC has disconnected at this stage and then I get a screen saying communication error which is obvious as WMDC has disconnected.
Is this a WMDC issue/ Vista or am I missing something
I then have to soft reset and it just re boots into my standard ROM.
Any advice woiuld be greatly appreciated
hello
1) connect your polaris to PC
2) run update utility
3) when you see 3 color screen unplug USB and replug it immediately
4) your SPL flash may start
5) when flash end correctely your polaris reboot
6) Flash any ROM you want
Thanks for the quick reply.
Tried doing exactly as you have stated.
Unplug and reconnect in the 3 colour bar screen, after which it goes into the updating screen and sits at 0% for ages until communication error comes up.
My WMDC has disconnected and does not reconnect.
I'm at my wits end!!
Do it from MicroSD, before format it in FAT 32, after rename the file .nbh in POLAIMG.nbh e copy in your microSD, put microSD in Polaris e put it in bootloader ( photo + softreset ) you will see something like IPL, bootloader, SPLASH1, SPLASH2, gsm & OS, press POWER button and wait, it might be long,
never put off microSD, when it finishes soft reset, in the same way you can flash any ROM, always format microSD before.

I think hard-spl can not be installed with sdcard method!
Why not ??? With Trinity you can do it.
cheers guy's for the feedback ,but not sure about the SD method unless someone can confirm it works for Orbit 2/ Cruise.
Somebody out there must have had the same issue as me regards this....what did you do to resolve.
Cheers

But this is not Trinity...Try it...
I know You can flash polaris if you use jumpspl (this is used by hard-spl flash) or hard-spl (this is used by os and radio flash).
But if you have original spl on you pda, and you want to flash with sd card, you will not use nor jumpspl neither hard-spl.

hi there.
try to hard spl with your sd card not in the device.
go in to bootloader mode (BL mode - by pressing down the Camera button, then using the stylus, press and hold the RESET button at the bottom of the phone and release when tricolor screen appears),
now connect the device to your pc (it should show usb in the white part)
flash what you may... hard spl first, oli's recomended by me.
ItayE,
Did you try the hard-spl flash with sd method? Does it work?
I didn't read it was Vista compliant so I ran it from a windows XP SP2 machine with Active Sync 4.5.
I did mine by taking out the SIM card and the SD Card then resettting and running the HardSPL.

Cheers for the advice guys I have managed to do it.
I used the Hard-SPL-V2 first which worked fine then I flashed to one of A.Serg roms, very nice and quick it is too.
However my reception bars are down to 2 from 4 that I previously had, although the reception seems ok.
Sim: O2 UK
Rom: 1.52.ASerg.4 WWE
The radio version I have is: 1.58.25.14
Now this is were I am confused.
Can I flash the radio Rom without affecting the o/s Rom, I have downloaded a couple of radio rom versions but not sure if you do it the same way as I am scared of over writing something.
Also could anybody advise if they are in UK on O2 which version gives best reception.
Any further advice much appreciated.
