IR Printing Software - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Hi, I am wanting the ability to print directly from my I-Mate (XDA2) to my Canon BJC 80 and wanted to know if anyone had successfully downloaded any software which worked OK. I think Print-Boy is Pocket PC capable but couldn't get it to work on my old Palm Tun W so I haven't even bothered to download it yet.
Any help/opinions appreciated.
Lance

I use PrintPocketCE v3.0 4 my XDA...but I've heard bout the XDAII's prblms with the IR, so i dont know, but u can try, just put the IR ports as close as possible.

Cannot connect through infra red

Please help me solve infrared problem with my device since i am not able to sync using IrDA. This is a problem that I cannot resolve and I wish that somebody could really help me and tell me the possible resolutions taking into consideration that I dont have any keyboard or any external hardware attatched to my pocket pc So please I would appreciate Any assistance.

I have similar problem with AT&T PPC2002 (XDA developers Special Edition ROM v1.2). The phone was bought with this ROM, so I didn’t try with other versions.
When I run ‘infrared receive’ application or try to beam any file my phone simply hung till I soft-reset it. It may be the conflict with other programs but I not sure. How to check who else uses IRDA and how to remove those programs/conflicts?
Help please
the idea is that can any body from the developer team help us ?
Haloo zimo, the main idea here is that you should make sure of
1)the Ir port on you PC or lap top is working as some IR ports does not work with all devices like Y140 "SigmaY140"
2)You should start the active sync from the device not the pc
I hope my experince with your problem give you help ,if you need more help you can contact me (I live in cairo too)
I am still trying to find a way to assign a "virtual" port to the irda, I am trying to get tomtom2 working with an infrared gps connection but if I choose infrared port it locks the machine up, beams is unchecked, tomtom will work on any ipaq with tomtom irda after choosing the "generic irda" port shown in gps settings. Any help appreciated.
i good thing to try is to see if you can beam stuff to the pc
when i want to connect i
choose the Infrared receive
in programs then i place the xda about
10cm from the infrered port on the
pc
then i go back to the today of cause leaving the
infrared receive running
and i try to beam and it works
then i open activ sync and choose connect using infrared
and ....
I have the very current asian rom. But am still having the same problems with IrDA connections. The device would refuse any transmission from the pc running XPpro. Don't know why. After installing 'Peacemaker', it worked seamlessly.
The bugging question. Why does it need an aftermarket software to run on the device where the IrDA drivers comes stock standard with microsoft?
The best part is, my old nokia7650's IrDA works flawlessly with my pc without any additional software.
IrDa = Forsaken child in this high powered enviroment?
My problem is solved
I have sent my device to my local dealer and it was repaired with my waranty certificate. In fact it was found that the IR port of my XDA II was faulty , and they replaced it !
I do not think its the IrDA being broken. Much more like the s/w driver's fault as I could get it to work with Peacemaker s/w.
Though I do not use it often, it still gets on my nerve knowing that there's a flaw in the upgraded rom. Have to wait for another 6mths before I could return to my home country and send it for a checkup. Sigh....
I could not get my xda 2 to accept beamed file from my xda, if I choose receive from ppc200/hpc on xda 2 under setting/beams, it works properly but gives a failed error even though the contact/file is copied.

I canny control my TV!!

Hey peeps,
Iv downloaded Total Remote on my Xda2, but everytime i try to receive a signal from my tv remote control, it just says 'cannot read signal'. Iv also tried it with a dozen different remotes. My IR port works because iv recieved/sent files thu IR. Iv also used other programs like Iremote, with the same results. is there something im doing wrong? or do xda2's not like remotes?
can ne1 help?
cheers
alv
The XDA II can´t work as a remote, because the IR signal is to weak. You would need to hold it just a few inches from the TV for it to work, if it works att all. I have triend many many programs, and even tried to beam between two XDA II`s. Even then the signal is very very bad...
I wounder even why they included IR when it apparantly aint working.

To allow you to exchange contacts, appointments and so on with others w/o the need of Bluetooth - I use it all the time and wouldn't wanna miss it...
alvin5785, I hope you didn't waste your money and got a demo version first... using a PPC as a remotre control is in my eyes a ridiculous thing... you shouldn't be as desperate as that to find a use for your device...
i have an ir usb adaptor for my desktop
and my laptop also have ir this enable me to activesync
with them
well my desktop also have a bluetooth usb but thats a whole other story
i had the remote working on my xda1 but it only had a range of 30cm
and i heard that the ir dident work at all as remote with the xda2 but i've never tried it
if it does work there are ir amplyfiers you can make yourself and put infront of the xda and the range will be better

Possible IR problems?

Hi, just got my new XDA mini S.
Got it second-hand and not sure if there is a problem with the IR sensor/port...I've installed Noviiremote 4 and when I go into the IR Setup of the app it shows two entries for Infrared. The autoselect feature of the app selects an empty port number. I tried changing it to one of the Infrared ports but I can't get the app working. Surely I should just have one IR port - the one on the side of the device? App is not cracked it is the trial version from the proper site.
Does this sound like a problem with the device or the app? I'm pretty new to the XDA but have had smart phones before....
Any advice appreciated.
ROM version: 1.5.4.2 WWE
Try sending some files from the IR to your PC. I'm not sure about the IR program you are refering to, but in some cases, the software will detect things that is not what it think it is. Example, when I chat using web cam on my MSN, by default, the MSN will take my USB-TV-adapter as the web cam. It took me quite a while to figure out this problem.
Anyway, just test your IR, make sure it works. And try your IR program with both of those different ports. One of them maybe a 'phantom' port.. or probly the bluetooth port that the IR software thinks is a IR port.
Thanks for the advice, I sent something to another phone with the IR port so I know that's ok now. I'll keep trying different settings with the app and see if I get any results...

IR possiblity?

So, got a nice shiny new Advantage 7501, wm6 ... life is good.
Then i install the traveltrak CE software for my dive computer (uwatec 2g). I've used it for the past couple years on my ipaq hx4705 to download dive log info (while still on the boat) via IR .. you also can setup the dive computer via the IR .. much easier than the 2 buttons on it.
anyway, the 7501 has no IR? with a 4 into 1 (usb host) cable would it be able to use a USB-IR dongle?
like This one
I think for remote control, the speaker-IR range extender (from griffin tech) might still work with their "total remote" software.. will try it later

its really a case of trial and error. wm6 does have ir functionality, though how it responds to external ir devices is a mystery to me at least
it's a USB host device... don't see that working.

HELP!!!

Hi.
I have a HTC TYTN II, and not get to work with WebCamXP Mobile.I do not know what model of camera he has, and ip.
Can someone help me, and explin how did work?
I'm totaly lost, please?
Thanks.
you missunderstand the purpos of the program I think
it's a program for you to be able to monitor webcams and the likes
on the pda over the internet
not a tool to use with the cam in your device
ateksoft webcam plus does what you are looking for OP
After all, was totally wrong. I thought that the camera delivered the PDA and we saw on the computer.
So ateksoft webcam plus is the best for my PDA???
And just put the ip of my machine to see the computer's webcam??
Thanks.
