Bluetooth car kit - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Hi chaps,
Ive got a brand new XDA2 2 weeks ago and I bought a Bluetooth GPS receiver from these guys:
http://cgi6.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI...ex_gensales&include=0&since=-1&sort=3&rows=50
Works perfectly without patching, hotwiring or standing on my head - NICE 1!
My question is, can anyone recommend an incar bluetooth handsfree kit rather than headset that works with the xda2???
And is it true that I can run 2 bluetooth devices at the same time if I patch my xda with the now world famous bluetooth patch featured on this forum?
Thanks guys...
Darren

I am running tomtom 2 with the 2.09 gps driver and also a bluetooth headset at the same time without any patch.

ahhhhhh....
so you *can* run more than one device now *without* patching hhhmmmm.... ahhhh... cool, what model is your headset? I really want a bluetooth car kit which detects the phone and takes control when i get into the car but it'll be good to know a headset that definatly works.
Thanks man

I have a sony-ericsson hbh-200 which works ok but only for answering the phone, also it needed rebonding many times. I am now using a Skypower EZ232 ez clip which works the same but re-connects after going out of range, I am as I type, linked via activesync over bluetooth to my pc, I have internet working on the xda2, my bluetooth headset is also working and I also have tomtom2 working using gpsmart gps bluetooth receiver, so more than one device is definitely ok without any patches.

top BT Carkit: Parrot CK2000 or later
I use these fix built in BT-carkit. it makes a good word with the htcII

nice one
Thanks guys.......

Nokia CK 1-W doesn't work
I've tried the Nokia CK 1-W carkit, but this carkit doesn't work properly with the MDA II. Nokia only supports the handsfree profile and the MDA II is only supporting the headset profile.
The headset profile has got less features than the handsfree profile. I know that Sony Ericsson and Parrot supports both profiles. When you want to have supported all handsfree features by your carkit you need the handsfree profile!
Does anybody knows an update to fix this problem?

Nokia CK 7W bluetooth carkit and qtek 2020 or XDAII

Hello,
Apparenlty does the bluetooth carkit Nokia CK-7W supports all bluetooth phones that have BT Handsfree profile.
Does the qtek support this Bluetooth Handsfree profile or does it supports only the headset profile.
or are they the same BT profile?
Thanks
sorry....
You wonn't be able to use it....although you can pair it the profiles don't match.
I own a bluetooth Nokia CK-1W carkit (has the same problem) and it's been difficult to use with my Qtek.
But for now i can receive calls via carkit. Better then nothing at all (if you don't want to remove the carkit).
You must install the Pocket Bluetooth Tools http://www.angeltowns.com/town/bluetooth/
Install it and delete any paired device you have.
Pair up with the carkit and select HEADSET profile.
Then, when the phone rings, bluetooth turns on automaticaly and pairs up with the carkit, then you press the Nokia button and talk.
It works for receiving calls through loudspeaker only.
I've contacted the author of the Pocket Bluetooth Tools and he already knows this bug and should be fixed next release.
Thanks for your answers.
Apparently this new nokia carkit has the pretency to be universal.
If the BTtools can help older carkits, I suppose we can expect that we may make this new one work with the qtek.
Or you can try the Ericssion HCB-30. I have that installed and it works everytime. Now all I need to figure out is how to boost the antenna power of the XDA unit
he HCB 30 works fine. I'm testing now a techart carkit.
Does any one have tested this nokia carkit?
This could be a very good alternative for BT carkits.

I dunno the max. But at least 3 (BT activesync with my PC dongle + BT GPS + BT headset).
Cool cool thanks for the quick reply!
Aas for the car kit .... looks like no-one is making them with A2DP profile yet oh well
guess i'll have to look at the head units with aux input slots and run it that way!
thanks all
P.S.
i finally got my freakn bluetooth to work with moto headset and it works brilliantly! no pauses in mid-song but it makes it sound like the track has jumped a second  otherwise fantastic AAA++++

Bluetooth Stereo Headset AND Bluetooth GPS

Hello!
I´ve just finished upgrading my XDA mini to the german TMobile ROM-Version 1.13(with BlackBerry Extensions) and i´ve installed the Bluetooth Patch from this Forum. Now i want to use my new Moto HT820 Bluetooth Stereo Headset in combination with my Bluetooth GPS Reciever. If i use each device on it´s own there are no Problems, but if i use them TOGETHER none of them works....
Can anybody help...?
Thanks,
Thomas
Same problem here, Parrot CK3100 and a GPS. When on the phone, quality of conversation is not 100%, also GPS falls behind.
Any solutions? Perhaps another BT stack ? Or maybe PocketBT Tools is the solution?
Same problem Here!
GPS is working, Bleutooth Heatset too but not in the same time...
Tomtom5.21
Holux 230

same problem here, parrot ck 3100 sounds bad when navigating with tomtom gps. i guess the different BT signals get in eachother's way ....
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was always under the impression that Bluetooth will only work with one device at a time due to the fact it creates an exclusive pairing session each time it connects.
Please Help US!!!!!!!
No one seams to be interested to help US!!!
Problem to use GPS and headset at the same Time!!!
Please help!!!
Thanking you in advance
maybe no one has the same problem anyways ... when i navigate with tomtom the parrot still sounds like crap, when i turn the bleutooth gps reciever off it sound good .. anybody?
i am considering buying a bluetooth headset but....any luck by now with using BT headset and BT gps at the same time?
or is it just not possible with this phone?
havent tried this since i got my BT headphones but i wouldnt think it is possible given i cant run headphones and use some heavy applications too sucessfully.
plus im sure tomtom and streaming would both want to use similar ports
anyone else knows if it is possible to use bluetooth headset and gps at the same time?
And does the voice from tomtom come through the headset or not?
(i prefer not)
it works for me
I'm using xda mini with plantronics 320 bluetooth headset, a noname gps receiver and igo europe as navigation software. Of course they work one at the time so when the phone rings gps connection is lost but when I finish the call gps connection is restored. The sound of the headset is the same when i'm not in range of gps receiver.
I did a big mistake when I installed a different bluetooth stack hoping that it might help(ROM 1.12.00WWE). I was wrong. I had to hard reset the phone and since then everything is just fine (about 2 months).
ok i finally got around to testing this, im using tomtom 6 with the maps located on my storage card. also using some mp3 i had on my storage card.
started music streaming to bluetooth HT820 headset, running ok. started tomtom up paused into tomtom splash screen (i thought oh ho this aint going to work too good) sure enough once the tomtom maps kicked in the gps and the headset stopped working (tomtom froze up).
as far as i could tell it wasnt that they wouldnt both run but they was both working from storage card and needed a high level of access to do it.
so in a nutshell i dont think this would be possible, this is using a 400 htz cpu and 128 memory

Bluetooth hands-free and GPS at the same time

OK, I've never used BT but am thinking about getting a BT hands-free kit, possibly the Parrot CK3100

Will this product work with an MDA Pro as a speakerphone through the car speakers? What about for playing MP3 files? Mono or stereo?
Also, if I later retire my old XDA 1 from TomTom duties and get a BT GPS unit for the MDA Pro, will it work at the same time as the BT parrot CK3100?
Also, I assume the CK100 is powered by the car: how do you cope with powering GPS and Universal devices? Run off the battery or multiple cigar lighter attachments?
This can help you take the right decision
http://www.lordpercy.com/tomtom_go_500.htm
Sounds like an expensive way of getting tinny sounds through a small speaker to me. I already have bought TomTom 5 and use it on my old XDA 1 with a wired GPS unit. What I want is to use my MDA Pro as an mp3 player and telephone through the car speakers and expect one day to get a BT GPS unit and use the Pro for Tomtom instead of the XDA 1, but I'm just wondering about the feasibility of such an idea.
What I have is a similar set up but I guess it should work for you.
I am currently running my Universal with a BT headset and a BT GPS receiver. I use the headset to hear all the commands for turning by the navigation software and so far it works great.
That's great, Vapor, thanks. I'll see if a vendor can help with compatibility then.
I have o2 MiniS paired with a Parrot CK3100. It works fine. The quality of the sound is very good as it uses the car system.
The Parrot can be set up to sync with up to 5 separate bluetooth devices. If you want GPS there is the Parrot LS3400 GPS which does everything.
I have not tried it playing MP3.
The fixing costs are exorbitant and the unit can be bought for around £100 (less for 3100) and fit it yourself it is very simple. Just two link cables for speakers and power plus install dashboard unit and microphone.

Vapor, I use a Qtek 2020 (Himalaya) with a wired GPS and a Midland BT Intercom. I get the sound from the phone, no problem, but I cannot receive any sound from the Tom Tom Navigator 5. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Javiersen
well I am not too sure about the other set ups but what i did to my universal was to disable the voice command from launching when i pressed the button on my headset. there's a reg hack for it somewhere on this forum about it.
once the buttonn is pressed, it opens the audio gateway (though in mono) between my phone and the headset and every sound from the phone (including the clicks) gets played to the headset.

Bt headset and two HTC's!!!

Hi,
I have htc 3600, HTC Mteor and SonyEricsson HBH-600!
I can't use headset with both devices at the same time (not same call, i think on normal use of two devices) , because headset will connect on first device and ignore other!
It's little bit unuseless for me and the same problem was with HTC & Nokia 6230, and qtek s200 & Nokia 6230, my previous combination!!
The question is which BT headset to buy, device that will be smart enough to disconnect from htc after call to be ready for receiving call from 2nd htc....
Thanks,
Regards
look here: http://www.omiz.com.cn/new/products.asp?cat=4
...scroll down for the twin-cellphone bluetooth headset.
enjoy

You can also use the Plantronics Voyager 510.
It supports BT Multipoint, I use it myself to switch between my trinity and PC programs like skype and MSN.
I think it works great.
Scala 700
will do the job as well...
http://www.cardowireless.com/scala700/
Ill try with plantronics, tnx to all...
regards
Any ideas about a stereo BT headset that would deliver this fucntionality?
Cheers.
I wouldn't buy a BT stereo headset just yet, at least not until a ROM update.
Use the search function in this forum and you'll see that their are still some problems with it.
I really want to get a pair too, I really like the set from jabra but until the BT stereo issues are fixed I won't buy them.
