I believe it is my friend.

They are the same hardware-wise. The just come with some different apps on the cd and in extended_rom, etc. (There is O2 stuff on the XDA II and arabic stuff on the i-Mate.. im sure some tmobile german stuff on the MDA II - also the same device).
I'm using an i-Mate in the U.S. with $20/month unlimited GPRS and its sweet.

Unlimited GPRS in US
T-Mobile offers unlimited GPRS in the US. Happy surfing and emailing.

What settings did you use to get your iMate GRPRS to work with TMobile?

Blackberry & Vodafone UK

Hi Guys,
Firstly, I hope that everyone has a great Christmas!
Secondly, just upgraded my XDA2 to the new 02 ROM with the Blackberry application, The upgrade went very smooth (apart from my Trafcam database) and I'd like to take advantage of the Blackberry features. I'm on Vodafone UK, can it be done?
Cheers!
A quick look at Vodafone UK's website gives the answer (Click on Store, then Blackberry on the bottom left hand side)
It apepars that they offer a Blackbery Email tariff @ £18.50 per month with no inclusive calls. Call charges are 50p per minute at all times.
Not sure about how much data is included, no mention on it there.

Thanks.
The question is can I do it with the O2 "branded" blackberry settings on the XDA2? What changes do I need to make to the settings, if any?
Hi JPM
I use my O2 XDA II with the 1.72.181 ROM and Blackberry service in the USA on T-Mobile. Did not have to change any settings and TMo Blackberry Service (BWC) just started right up after estabilishing the PIN. Just followed the [email protected] configuration instructions and it worked first time! Good luck!!

cant get on the internet: Telfort simcard, Tmobile MDA2,help

I live in Holland. I have an Tmobile MDA2. It is simlock free. I have a contract with Telfort mobile phone company. (Telfort used to be O2 until O2 stopped operating in Holland). And I have my Telfort sim card in the MDA2.
But I can't get on the internet. And I cannot get settings from Telfort, (they say they don't support MDA's or Xda's anymore, and I can't get settings from Tmobile, unless I have a contract with them.
I'm stuck. I upgraded the MDA succesfully, to PPC 2003 SE with the "merged" upgrade from this site. Brilliant.
But I don't know how to get on the internet, or Email, etc.
Is there a way I can get on the internet?. Any settings or ideas please?
Don't know if this is too obvious, if you want to connect to the internet mobily (so not through ActiveSync) and not with a SD-WiFi card, you're probably referring to GPRS, wich uses your GSM antenna.
To be able to connect to a GPRS network, you need to have a GPRS account.
So, do you have a GPRS account with your Telfort account?
I'm also in the netherlands with a T-Mobile MDAII but use it with my T-Mobile acount that supports GPRS. It works fine (but is waaaay to expensive..)
Internet using MDAII
Just make a connection using Cellulair Line using the same ISP you use for your home-pc..
The speed is fair enough and will cost you the same as if you were just calling someone.
cellulair how?
thanks for your answer - I looked for Cellulair on google and nothing came up. Do you have more details or links so I can find it, please?
cellulair - its alright I've found the web site
cellulair - its alright I've found the web site - duh - it was obvious - www.cellulair.com. sorry to have bothered you - thanks again
Okay, 64,000 dollar question!
I have programmed my XDA to get on the internet using O2 GPRS for FREE (I have no contract and no credit) stay on the net 24/7!
Anyone know how to do this on a T-Mobile SIM?
Cheers
This forum rocks, such a great bunch of willing helpers

Hi
Could you send me the settings too.
I orginally put my vodafone sim in my MDA Compact but now have transfered my phone number to T-Mobile.
Can't get GPRS working (general.t-mobile.co.uk username: user)
Another down side with T-Mobile, apart from the lack of signal, is that when going abroad recently that they wanted £250 deposit if I wanted roaming enabled! Neither O2 nor Vodafone have ever asked this.
Also from what I can see they want £7.50 / MB gprs? Vodafone was only £2 / MB
Thanks
Jamie
check pm, also if u take out say a 3mb gprs bundle for 4/5 ukp, the charge is 2.30 there about per additional MB.

Hey guys
I'm looking for the HTC Magician T-Mobile UK settings too (as I've just upgraded my ROM to the imate 1.06 WWE), as it's a bit of a pain in the ass setting it up without guidance, also T-Mobile website has no info on the MDA Compact whatsoever.
Could someone PM me?

Free GPRS on t-mobile in USA

Two years ago I had an XDA 1 and was able to get free GPRS through something.voicestream.com. Then I found out I needed t-zones and I could still get unlimited GPRS through a proxy server. I stopped using my xda a while ago, but just recently purchased an i-mate k-jam (HTC Wizard, qtek 9100). I was wondering if there was still a way to get free GPRS, or cheap GPRS through T-zones with windows 5.0. Thanks alot.

Newbie: UK TMobile MDA pro - Push email?

Hi
I currently have a blackberry on O2. I am looking toupgrade to XDA Exec (o2) or MDA Pro. XDA Exec says its Windows 5 and pushemil.
MDA pro (which seems the same phione as XDA Exec) doesn't. Does this mean that I won't get my exchange emails with MDA Pro.
MDA Pro seems a good bet as it has the unlimited walk and surf tarif. O2 data on the otherhand is expensive.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Joe
T-Mobile are yet to release the ROM upgrade which enables support of push e-mail. I have the XDA myself, but I believe it is possible to the iMate or QTek rom with the MDA. Have a search through the forum.
