Hi !
I installed the new PPC2003 Version and used the phone settings. when i want to quit the settings it asks to reboot for band changes.. but i didnt select anything. after the reboot my phone wasnt able to connect to my provider, so i used the phone-settings again to change them to US (but i'm in europe - i wanted to set them back again afterwarts). After the reboot my phone is dead. no pin-code question, no dial AND NO PHONE-SETTINGS. it just wont start again (just the waiting wheel).
i flashed the gsm part with 3.23, i reflashed to ppc2002 3.17, but still no way to use the phone.
what can i do?
Thanks for your help.... Jabba
Open and close the SIM cover and hard reset?
still no change...
i flashed the gsm and the ce part back to my providers files (4.19 and 3.19.01 german)...but still noluck
i can enter my pin number now, but after that the phone app freezes.
AND ActiveSync isnt recognizing my xda anymore....hardware manager has a htc device in its list, but activesync isnt able to find it.
GOT IT...
i used the bootloader (5.22 now) to set my phone to gsm 900/1800 now it works again....
So caution....in the ppc2003 4.00.01 you can set gsm to 900 or 1900 only!!! no way to set it to gsm 900/1800.
when your use start/settings/phone and quit it then ce will set gsm to either 900 or 1900! i wasnt able to avoid that :-(
it is interesting to see that activesync isnt working without the gsm-part working in the right gsm-mode ?!?! WHY?
Jabba
Dear Sir , How to update my xda bootloader 5.17 to 5.22, I had the same problem after change the band to 1900, I need to return the GSM900.
Please post a link on descriping the bootloader 5.22 and the program download
I think you should be able to set your phone back to your gsm-setting via every version of the bootloader....
just try to activate the bootloader (warmboot(reset) with power button pressed) push your calendar button and select the gsm setting you nedd with your cursor and press the actionbutton (middle of cursor).. it will do a coldboot automatically (i think) so every personal data will be lost.
the 5.22 bootloader was installed with the latest rom. a .nbf file contains both. CE update and Bootloader update.
Jabba
It seems bootloader 5.15 has the GSM 900/1800 option too, therefore we don't have upgrade to 5.22.
By the way, is it possible to write a utility block this page?
Thanks for all, I got it, and the dualband is working again now.
PPC 2003 is stable, waiting for o2 custom make version
After doing that change my phone now has 45% better reception after accidentaly changing it to GSM 900 then going into the bootloader and changing it back to GSM 900/1800
now i have the asia version of the phone.. does this mean if i change it to GSM 1900 to go overseas it will work, or will the phone dissapear?
Hello There,
I've spend my free Sunday on flashing my ROM
I wanted to warn about a "bug" in the t-mobile 4.01.16 ROM with o2 radio 4.21. Here’s what happened:
I've upgraded from AT&T a.30.09 ROM with o2 Radio 4.08 to t-mobile 4.01.16 ROM with o2 radio 4.21.
- 1st I've installed the t-mobile ROM (SD Flash method Note: ALWAYS DO
THIS!)
- 2nd I've turned off my phone and installed o2 radio 4.21 (through
programB)
Problem:
Every thing went well and there were no errors at all! But:
When I tried to start my phone again there was NO SERVICE possible?!
- I've tried to reset my GSM Module by going to the Wallaby bootloader
V 5.14 and pressed the Calendar hardware button. This wouldn’t work.
- I've Flashed the ROM back to the original ppc 2002 ROM (Not the Radio
stack) to get my phone software back (what was lost or unable to start?!)
- Still the phone says no service possible!
- I've Downloaded the T-Mobile Radio stack 6.24.00 and installed it (by
Copying the RSUpdate.exe and files in the windows directory and run it
from the device windows directory).
- After doing this I had a white screen Hang . Luckily after a soft reset it
got back to the radiostack upgrade screen .
- But Still No Luck so far.
- I've reset my GSM Module again by going to the Wallaby
Bootloader V 5.14 and pressed the Calendar hardware button.
- Turned my device back on and got a simlock warning in W2003!?
- Had to Flash my ROM back again to o2 3.17.03 ROM PPC2002 to be able
to release my SIMlock again With XDAunlock. (worked :wink
- Still no Service !
- I've Installed the new o2 radio stack 4.21 back and
I had Service again!? .
- Upgraded the ROM again with T-Mobiles new 4.01.16 ROM.
- Finally it's Upgraded and smooth Working again!!! 8)
HERE IS THE CLUE!:
- I think It had to do with the o2 radio stack upgrade that came in conflict
with T-Mobiles new 4.01.16 ROM.
- So 1st upgrade radio stack in PPC 2002 OS if you have an older radio
(i.a. 4.08) stack before you do a ROM upgrade.
- WARNING: Don't use the T-Mobile band switch 900/1900 function if the
phone is working!!! I found this is also a crucial bug and causes to crash
the GSM module with the o2 4.21 radiostack!
Question: Could annyone tell me were I can find and how I can Upgrade
my Wallaby Bootloader from v5.14 to ........
Thanks and have a good one!
Flashed the ROm up fine to 4.01.16. But the Phone won't start up. Dumb Exclamation mark next to signal strength thingy.
Since then it's been Flash-city. I've been back and forth between 2002 & 2003 of various flavours. Most of the time the phone won't talk to the PC anymore either and I have to flash through SD.
What's going on ? I just want my buggy 4.00.05 back right now :-((

First procedure to do is there's a label on the back of your unit saying PW10A1 or PW10B1 well the first is for 900/1800 and the second for 900/1900 .
Goto the bootloader and check if it's still GSM OK, if it does then don't worry you could make it back to business bcz you might flashed your RSU part with the wrong version, or you setted the Gsm on the wrong freequency to fix the wrong setup :
1- Turn off ur device
2- press on the power buttom + the hard reset buttom
3- you should see (GSM OK)
4- press on the callendar buttom
5- select the frequency 900/1800 or 900/1900 depending on your device
6- press on hard reset it again
PS: this will erase all your data from the ppc.
If it didn't work out with you then it's possible now that you flashed your ppc with the wrong RSU version depending on the back label.
This link could help you http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=9833&highlight=
If your device is a PW10A1 Flash it with RSU 3.25.00 Ver. If it is PW10B1 then flash it with RSU 6.25.02 Ver.
Good luck to you now.
yes!!
i am verry happy
a few days ago i have upgraded ppc 2002 to ppc2003 andsuddenly i also had radio rom version 4.21.00 and there was no way that i could get the gsm radio part working or i couldn't even downgrade to radio version 4.16 orso
until i saw this message with the verry good tip from ramram.
now it is working verry fine here with radio rom 4.21.00
thanks for that !
hey ppl, my friend had bought a universal but its radio seems weired.
it keeps searching for a signal.. but dosent get anything..
a test i did :
i kept my uni under a computer CRT monitor and it disturbed the CRT monitor ..even whlie searching for a signal..(as GSM signal usually does)
His uni dosen't even disturb the computer monitor.what is it ? faulty radio or ROM ?..I've flashed numerous radio ROMS..1.09 1.15 ...ran the unlocker twice...both with successs.. ran the simunlock tool on the 1.15 with success...but no effect..
its still searching... the sim works on my phone so its not faulty..
any ideas ?
its an orange SPV m5000
I flashed it with
with 2.50.00 WWE WM5 ROM (from xda-developers a while back..i don't know whos was it(maybe helmi)
BootLoader 1.01
Radio 1.15.00
edit :
using mtty i just did the task 55aa thingy and it formatted the system
then i did the rtask 0 thingy to reset the radio..
then flashed it with thingonaspring wm6 rom with 1.15.00 radio ..successfully i may add.
still searching ... searching...and on manual network mode it's just stuck on the dialogue which says 'getting network settings' or something..
i'm beginning to think hardware of radio is damaged ..any ideas..please help ..
I am using TC HK CHT version and using 3HK service. After flashing to 6.1WM, I found the following problem
1.Network selection button disappear from phone setting when using my SIM (3HK)
2. I tried to use SIM from other operator (CSL, Smartone, China Unicom), the "Network selection" button appear in Phone setting/Network tab) again.
3. Then I insert my 3HK SIM to my friend's TC (original version), the "Network selection" button appear in Phone setting/Network tab).
So I don't know whether if it is the SIM problem or WM6.1 problem.
Does anyone has the similar experience?
FYI, After upgrade to WM6.1, I also try to upgrade the Radio ROM to 1.64.08.21 but now already flash back to 1.58.21.23 because the GPS accuracy got worse.
Can anyone help me to solve this because Network Selection in Phone setting/Network is critical specially during roaming.
Thanks!
Today I tried to flash back to original WWE WM6 version and the problem still remain unchanged.
Does anyone has TC HK CHT version ROM, so that I could flash it back and take it to HTC to follow.
Thx!
