Wallaby Bootloader 5.22 - any issues re ROM upgrading? - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

Hello
I have a UK version O2 XDA which has Wallaby Bootloader 5.22 installed. I would like to upgrade my ROM but I can find only info on using bootloaders up to version 5.17
I assume that backing up and flashing my ROM will be the same procedure as described for 5.17 but being cautious I have done nothing with my XDA so far.
But does anyone know anything about using Bootloader 5.22 to upgrade the ROM using the bootloader/SD card method?
Thanks!
Robin

Can i ask why you want to downgrade?
Hello XDA
Can i ask you why you want to downgrade ? what are the things you can do with Bootloader version 5.15 which you can't do with 5.17 ?
Thanks with best regards.
Othman
Bootloader 5.17 has an added security 'feature' that makes it harder to write the ROM to SD card or read a ROM from it.
See our XDArit page for details...

unable to upgrade ROM on my AT&T SX56

I cooked a ROM (3.17) from yorch but it tells "can't find rom image" so i cooked another using the 4.00.05 ROM which was succesful except it didn't ask to unlock my device. Any ideas? Please help.[/b]
WM2003 roms do not unlock the xda, why dont you download the developers se rom then once its unlocked you can upgrade from there.
Success!!!
Thanks for the tip but it was easier than i thought. Here's how i did it. The instructions i read said after installing the 3.17 ROM it will ask if you want it unlocked however, in my case that wasn't so. I download and install the XDA tool and WALLA!!! it's unlocked. Then i upgraded to WM2003.

Wallaby Bootloader V 5.15/5.17 needed-->HELP

Hey Guys,
could someone give me a link to the Bootloader 5.15 or 5.17? My E-Mail: [email protected] . I need this becouse I think I´ve got a crashed Wallaby with 32MB RAM (English T-Mobile Version) and I gave it the 5.22 Bootloader from another Wallaby with 64 MB RAM (German Version of T-Mobile). I´ve got the damn GSM Error post at the Bootloader startup. So maybe it is becouse of a german, and newer Bootloader version. So if somebody could PLEASE MAIL ME A Wallaby A LINK WHERE TO DOWNLOAD THE BOOTLOADER (or give a post where I can download it) I would be very thankful!
THX
Hello....
I could offer you a 5.22 bootloader.
I don´t believe that you´re problem is because of using the 5.22 bootloader from a german device on an english device.
Have you done a Radio Stack Upgrade that failed? If it´s a new device, have you already contacted your service provider? Had the same problem (GSM Error) about 1 1/2 Years ago, and O2 had changed the device without any problems...
If you want to try my 5.22 bootloader, give me a PM, and i´ll sent it to you....

Has anyone managed to unlock cid with this way????

I was wondering if you could downgrade to an old version using maimachs romupdateutility.exe , then unlock using awizard and doing the update again.
I think this would be the safest because the device will be also cid unlocked.
Has anyone tried this???
i tried getting to an older version but i couldnt... all i could do was flashing rom from imate, dopod and qtek but they to be always a more recent version from the one installed
