O2 has a generic PPC 2003 upgrade for download - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

But you have to be a Source O2 registered developer to get it. Surely someone here has access? I'd be happy to host it for download, and I can receive any size e-mail at [email protected].

are you sure?
I'm a registered O2 developer, and I don't see it on their site!
If you are sure, what's the URL?
..lance

ahh i see where you mean...
...i see it
http://64.244.24.19/xda/RUUv1.09_CEv4.00.05wwe_O2_Ozone.exe
http://www.sourceo2.com/O2_Developers/Launched_devices/O2_xda/Software+Trial.htm
This requires a seperate user/password that they must be sending out, not just the sourceo2 developer login. So, I can't get it. Ho hum.
...lance

Yeah, I actually got approved quickly for the developer program, but no answer on access to the 2003 upgrade. It says for PRE-selected developers only. Damn.

Can someone make a mirror of the 2 files?
Can someone make a mirror of the 2 files or give the pass of the related sites?

Hey Krueger, glad to see you here too, I also have the same .nb1 file that Kruger has. Need any Xda-developers dude to test it (I don't want to screw up my machine) or anyone else who want to test it.
Is ripped from a working XDA 2003 phone

E-mail would also work, I have unlimited file size on my e-mail.

Activesync and Exchange server

I have an O2 XDA mini S.
I have spent about 12 hours trying to configure it, and am having a complete nightmare. Am completly stuck and hoping someone can help me.
I have put in all the settings on the XDA and told it to sync with our exchange server. The device connects and you can see it syncronising eg Calander 6/6, emails 60/60.
So it all looks like it is working I then go into my outlook email folder on the device and all my folders are there but they're all empty. I have altered the syncronisation options so it syncronise all my folders for the last 3 days, but still nothing.
Strangely if I create a calander appointment on the XDA it does get syncronised back to the calendar on the exchange server. The same if I send an e-mail, the e-mail does get sent and ends up on my exchange servers sent items.
So basically anything created on the XDA gets synced back to the exchange server, but anything created on the exchange server does not get synced across to the XDA. Even though when you connect it looks like it does.
We are using Exchange 2003 SP2, and ActiveSync Version 4.1.
Any help would be very much appreciated as we have bought 5 of these XDA's for all the top brass at my company and they are breathing down my neck asking when they are going to be set up.
Hi,
I'm sure you have already checked, but are the folders set to synchronise within Outlook on the device.
Menu/Tools/Manage Folders and put a cross in the appropriate boxes.
Apologies if you had already done this.
Regards,
White.
Thanks for the reply and yes I have already done that.
To clarify some of my earlier statements I am trying to do this wirelessly using GPRS, but to rule out any firewall problems (we use ISA 2004), I have plugged the device into my PC using a USB connection I have then changed the server address to the local address and the same thing happens.
The only slightly odd thing I'm doing is using an HTTP connection as I can't get the certificates to be accepted on the device for an HTTPS connection.
Duplicate post deleted,
Sorry.
Regards,
White.
Try this link
http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials...ng-Part1-Microsoft-DirectPush-technology.html
for me it works fine so I will try to help... but lets try the link first.
Have checked through our configuration with regard to the above link and everything is fine.
I just don't understand as the XDA appears to connect okay, and seem to be uploading from the server, it can also send things back to the server. It just doesn't actually recive anything.
It's so frustrating eg it will say reciving 0/61 e-mails it will then go to 61/61, eg like it has dowloaded them, but when you look nothing is there. It must be talking to the server though as it knows how many e-mails there are.
Not much help here..............
..............but I gave up with our exchange server !! 8-(
I, too, couldn't get past the certificate error.
Really pi**es me off !! Yet I can lie in bed @ home and VPN onto the server desktop via my XDA and my home WiFi switch/router and read my emails via the server's IE via the company intranet.....<shrug>
I HATE MS sooooooooooooooooo much !!
Enough redundant posting already !!
I agree
I agree it's crazy about the certificates, it's just bizarre that it doesn't give you the option to accept the certificate anyway. As I'm stuck with using HTTP now which is obviously not very secure. Well I would be stuck using HTTP if I could get it to work, but as posted before it just doesn't.
So stuck with dowloading my e-mails using IMAP, and syncing my calandar using a usb cable, which is not ideal.
Anyway once again any insight or help would be great.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/817379/en-us
Method 2 is what I've had to do to my exchange server to get anything working.
Thanks
Have already made the changes discussed in the article, as before I did that it was erroring out, now it appears to dowload the e-mails but nothing happens.
Thanks for the tip!
I needed this info!
Further info............
....................O2 have told me via dataservices support there is a problem with self-certification - This has come from Microsoft who have said there is an issue.
O2 and MS are working on a fix but no timeframe as yet - a number of users have reported the issue.
Third party certificates are OK apparently - I have tracked down a free source - www.cacert.org but whilst i have got a personal email certificate for my PC I can't get throught the documentation to obtain a certificate for the Exchange server at work. This is because, I think, we don't have a domain that's linked to it - we just VPN to an IP address......if anyone can help work out how to submit a valid certificate request, I'd be very grateful

so you are unable to set up the sync between your O2 and the exchange server? or you cant get the HTTPS to work at all?
my colleague is using a QTEK9100 and he managed to get the push mail to work. the sync with exchange server seems to be working. he couldnt get it work before this because exchange server need to have HTTPS enable, so we endup getting a digital cert from a vendor.
so now he is happily getting email push to his qtek. and sync works fine as well. i am yet to get my unit so i cant say much about the setting need to be done but there must be something missing here.
Hi.
I have Exchange 2k3 SP2 using my own certificates, an XDA Mini and XDA Exec with O2 GPRS all using push email fine. No issues with O2, Exchange, Microsoft or anything - it just works!
The only thing I did need to do on the XDA's was to import a copy of my Certificate Servers root certificate.
Have been using this with Exchange push for a couple of weeks and before then used the same setup with XDA IIi's using Exchange Activesync.

It's a valid certificate cos our server works as it should !
The real crazy thing is, I can VPN to our server using my XDA via my home WiFi router, see the server desktop via mstsc and open my exchange mailbox using the company intranet in IE - all on my XDA in my bed !!!
Security ?!!? Pah!!!!
Hi
Which certificate have you imported, the certificate on the exchange server or the ROOT certificate from your Cert Server?
You need the ROOT CERTIFICATE not the Exchange Web Server certificate

The certificate is the only one we have for the server as a whole.............
If you click on the certificate and look at the certification path tag, what does it say...(Can you post a screen shot of it?)

Trinity and Blackberry Connect

Hello,
Can I use the Trinity as a Blackberry like I´m doing it right now with the HTC TyTn? Can i use the same Software (Blackberry Connect) as the TyTn?
Thanks for any help!
Best Regards
Giovanni
I installed the BBConnect client on my Trinity but it doesn't work.
The PIN remains in "pending" state.
I'm on TIM network, the SIM works fine on a blackberry handset.
I installed the BB connect for the tytn on my Trinity everything installed fine but for some reason it connects for 3 sec and then disconnects it also doesn't register on the network even though i was able to generate a pin... the i.p adress is shown for 3 sec and then dissapears. i have been trying to find a solution for the past week but no success... i hope somone has the answer.
Sirs,
any news about trinity and blackberry connect?
anyone is experiencing a success?
please let me know
j
....
Hi all,
I'ma trying the same, installing in may HTCP3600 the service does not start and remains stopped.
Anyone one could get it?
Best Regards
HI i am using bbconnect on my trinity and it works fine first you have to get the program from dopod (will try to have link) ...i remember someone posted it here.... it is different program from the bbconnect for the tytn.
you have to log on to your blackberry account and try changing handhelds if it doesnt work than you have to ask your operator to cancell your previous account (if you have it on the tytn) and then reactivate it again with trinity bieng your first mobile to register. and it should work fine

dear all,
I was unable to download the file from rapidshare for unknown reason it's continuing say me that I have exceed the download limit, but I have not download anything from that site by months.
Could some one send me the mentioned file in another way?
may you please explain how can I get a bb account? If I remember right during the registration process it ask you insert (bb) IMEI and PIN, what information I have to insert?
thank you very much
j
For rapid share
Click the free button and wait for the specified time. (use refresh button)
or pay the premium price
First you have to get a bb account from your telecom provider. Then install the bbconnect program.
once installed click on the calender sync. Then click the utility icon and press the regestration button.
The regestration button should automatically detect your pin and imei plus your ip adress.( you should recieve conformation of the registration) and you are all set to go.
you can get the pin and imei through a program called bbconnect desktop tool for manual installation.
Thanks Almulatham!!

Hi Again,
I've try the soft but although the service is started, is no connected, my main problem is that i'm not able to configure my enterprise mail settings because in tab utility "Email Setup" option is in grey.
I suppose that if I would have BB Desktop manager for pocket PC software it could be easy to set up.
We also have tried to do it in our BES Server but is impossible to assign a PIN CODE to a user or edit the actual PIN CODE.
any ideas???
Thanks in advance....
I need...
Hi,
To finish configuration of my BBConnect Soft in my HTC I need this:
BlackBerry® Connect™ Desktop Tool (For BES users) It colud be downloaded if I had a user/pass but I have not
Someone colud send me?
Thanks A LOT!!!!
Dear Almulatham,
thank you very much for your valuable info.
I've downloaded the software, installed it on trinity, create the blackberry account, and added the e.mail address I need to be syncronised.
It created a sort of folder named systema where I received a message with subject "Registrazione" and containing "Il palmare è stato registrato tramite la rete wireless".
And now??????
my internet connection is on but I'm not receiving any message.
Could you please explain me what I've to do.
thank you very much
j
HI regarding the BES server i am not sure what to do as i am using the individual account... and not sure how it works...but if you had registered a previous avvount you might have to delete it first and reregester again.... i will put the link containing the bbconect desktop utility that will help create the imei and the pin....
http://rapidshare.com/files/23986631/ActiveSync_BBConnect_Desktop_Setup_2.1.1.21.exe.html
To jus_mi i am not sure what the language was but from what i understood is you got a file called system and you got a message saying regestration.
that means you have registered on the network and your phone is ready for use. you have to go to bbconnect --utility --email setup.... that will close your bb connection and open internet explorer on gprs. from there you have to register as a new member , once registered you can add your email adress and start recieving emails instantly.
thank you Almulatham,
I found the problem, but needed for your kindly help for the solution.
In the utility window the field configure email accont is grey and not cliccable.
any suggestion?
thanks a lot

Almulatham thanks again,
I'll test it tomorrow.
Bye.
Hi regarding the grey email setup... you have to first register on the network first (register now icon) you should get a registration confirmation on your message files.
once you have the confirmation you can use the email setup function. Once the email is setup you should get another confirmation for the same.
To make sure you are conected in the STATUS icon on bbconnect you should get network available or connected. And on the IDENTITY icon you should get the pin# + IMEI# + IPadress.
I think it is important that if you had a pervious handheld with bbconnect that you have to delete your previous account and reactivate a new one then you can register... because i personnally couldn't change my bbconect from tytn to trinity until i did the above.
If you get signed up for BB service on cingular, you no longer can use 3g, is that right?
i am not sure how it is on cingular but i am using both 3g and blackberry connect... i think blackberry uses a special gprs connection that is different that the regural gprs and i think it has nothing to do with 3g network.

network share on domain controller

I posted this in network forum but I don't think anyone reads that forum so I thought I'd try my luck here....
I'm trying to connect to a network share that is on a domain controller so uses domain level security/authentication instead of regular local computer authentication. When I try to connect to the computer I get an Action Failed message "Cannot connect shared path. The specified network resource or device is no longer available."
I checked through event logs on the server and it looks like the login/authentication went through just fine but the wm device seems to be rejecting it somehow....
Does anyone know what I might be able to do to fix this? Kind of a pain, I would like to be able to connect to my server's shares.
Thanks
and again no one replies
*cry*
How are you attempting to connect to the server shares?
Using what method?
PocketLAN?
I.E.?
Even though you authenticate against AD there should be a local administrative account on that box, try logging on using it. Also what are the permissions on that share, do you have access to it and is your account part of that domain?
Just my $.02 try using z2 PocketLan..
I've used it for quite a while on my Axim, and now on my 6800.. It allows you to connect to a network share, you supply it with your login credentials (Active Directory) and save the connection. It also comes with a bunch of other handy stuff like an IP range scanner, ping, yatta yatta ..
-=<> Aaron <>=-
I use Resco Explorer and it doesn't seem to have any problems at all connecting to network shares on our domain controller at work.
i just tried on my domain, i can connect to shares on other pcs and servers, but not on the DC, maybe theres a setting that doesnt allow connections from non domain members
and just FYI, domain controllers dont have any local accounts
ya no local accounts... local computer accounts work fine but it won't connect using domain accounts to authenticate...
I'm not sure if this is a setting on the DC for authentication or if there is something I need to do on the wm device?
Zenoran: You still haven't told us how you're trying to connect. I can't tell you how to do it unless you tell me what sort of program you're using, or whatever. Capiche?
I use z2 PocketLAN without issue, accepts DC auth no problem. Do you use PocketLAN?

Oh sorry! Using Resco File Explorer... are there others I should try? I bought that program because it seemed to do everything. Will give PocketLAN a shot.
hmmm tried pocketLAN and it only locks up when I try to click on that server... bad bad...
something really fishy here because even non-authenticated user should be able to browse that server and see public shares... no one else have issue? maybe it's a server 2008 thing?

the domain enroll is a bit of an odd thing, i cant even find much documentation on it from microsoft, but from what i can tell it just integrates with an exchange server, provided the server has mobile device manager installed
im not even sure what features it enables
