Need a room for a Rockchip RK3066 stick?

Just bought a TV Stick with these specs
Specifikationer:
Chipset: Rockchip RK3066
CPU: AMR Cortex A9 Dual core 1.6 GHz
GPU: Mali-400MP Quad core
RAM: 1 GB DDR3
Flash memory: 8 GB
Memory card: Micro SD up to 32 GB
WiFi: 802.11 b/g/n
Android version: 4.2 .1Jelly Bean
Bluetooth: 2.1
The firmware preinstalled is a mess. And i wounder if there is any way to install a "Universal" room whom will work on this stick.
The brand is Andersson :s
I have googled and found out lots of firmwares from rockchipfirmware.com but dunno what to take? I want as clean as possible, and will be mostly using XBMC.
There are hundreds of RK3066 sticks out there. Unfortunately there is no universal firmware. The best way to find a working firmware is to shoot some fotos of the device (also of the inside) and post them here. Maybe someone recognises it and knows a firmware for it. Good luck!
Thanks for the info.
Have not opened it yet.. I will try to do so.
It has problems with HD movies on xbmc, so i will try to find a nother rom or fix!
Try SPMC. That's a special XBMC version for TV Boxes and TV Sticks. Also try to play with the hardware acceleration settings in XBMC/SPMC (switch between mediacodec and libstagefright HW decoding).
Guess you have been shopping at NetonNet
Check the thread at sweclockers: Google for "ads 2.1 99"
I have not rooted yet, but the 4.4 rom without overlocking works like a charm on two sticks for the kids
The remote itself is worth the money...

The allwinner is *definitely garbage*. Don't waste your money on that one.
Personally, I ordered a couple of the UL128N2's, waiting on arrival. They're at least Intel hardware (manufactured under partnership with Rockchip by TSMC), so documentation and source code for those is a lot more likely than for the mediatek. The Intel should be a bit stronger in performance than the Mediatek, which is just A53's. If it had A57's, it would probably be a little bit stronger than the Intel.

If you plug in an LTE USB dongle, it should work no different than an HSPA dongle.
Hotaudio is the only one I've heard of that actually uses the wireless capabilities of the chip.
You know that you can tether via wifi or bluetooth? If you carry a phone with you, then you don't gain anything by paying extra for a sim card for your car.
i've a second SIM card with 10 GByte LTE & Telephone flatrate Which I can use
Yes I know With bt/wifi tethering
But I have second SIM

Any suggestion for an LTE USB dongle that works well on T-Mobile?

Did you run antutu on it? Because results on internet says that MTK quad core is faster.
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Atom-C3230RK-SoC.156853.0.html
Sofia is 26719 and ownice c500 quad core is 29946
Also, Intel stopped sofia stuff

So you will never see Android 6 or anything like that for Intel devices. They are garbage in a few years.

Audi 2008+ 6.0 android new headunit from China, what do you think?

Hi,
I found a advertising on audizine forum regarding new unit for USA and Europe market(from China). What we could expect, is this really modified China unit or pure China unit...octa-core and android 6.0 seems ok, but not much feedback or real info...
As you can read people are very tempted to get this one, as not much on market for a4,a5,q5 2008+ with only radio system!
The final spec is
- OS: Android 6.0
- CPU: 64Bit MTK6735 octa core Cortex A53 1.3 GHz
- GPU: Mali-T720
- RAM: 2GB
- ROM: 16GB
- Built in 4G LTE Modem
- Wifi Hotspot, Bluetooth
- Option of 7 inches or 10.1-inch display
- 1024 x 768 resolution display
- Captive multi touch input
- Support Google maps and driving, Spotify, Google play store and so much more.
- Plug-and-play installation: no stripping wire
- Direct factory screen replacement
Cant post full link:

Hey,
I also came across this rsnav units. They look very cool but it seems they are still at their infancy when it comes to development. Both communities would significantly benefit if Audizine or Kim Daniel there would be put in contact with this community here.
For instance I just read they do not have a stand by function, or that they have problems with steering wheel buttons. They are actually looking for devs who can help.
I just set up an account in audizine to make them aware of the android head units thread here. But it takes one day or two.

newbie looking to buy an Android 10 head unit

Hi folks,
avid Android user here (mobile phone Samsung Galaxy series) for over 10 years.
I am now looking to buy an Android 10 head unit for my car.
I don't want to do anything fancy – or RAM heavy ? – (just Radio, Navigation via igo or maps, reverse and front camera, maybe torque) but I'm yet unsure whether to buy
Option A: Quad-Core, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB storage
Option B: Octa-Core, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage
My only reference point is that I've been using a 3 GB RAM phone for the past 6 years and it has always worked like a charm.
I wouldn't want the device to be heavy on the car battery either.
What would you recommend I get?
Option B, of course, has more RAM, but I've read contradictory information on how much battery quad-core vs. octa-core draw, sometimes that quad-core draws less and sometimes that octa-core draws less.
Also, let me ask: Option A comes with in-built carplay. Do I really need that to connect my Android phone? Would it not suffice to use the Screen Mirroring option?
Help would be greatly appreciated.
RT
I have a unit with quad core and 2 GB RAM( rockchip px3) It's damn slow especially if I'm downloading apps. Download speeds are okay but the installation takes forever.
If I were you I'd take the 4gb ram ( rock chips px5) version. Better performance. There's the 6gb ram as well ( rockchip px6).
Get the best one you can afford.
Do some research on the carplay/android auto features. Some are in built some you can buy a usb dongle to add the feature.
Thanks for the reply and recommendation!
Option A is an 8277L with Cortex A7 operating at 1.2 GHz, the amplifier is an IC 7388, radio chip ST7708.
Option B is a PX5 with Cortex A53 up to 1.5 GHz, amplifier IC 7851, radio chip TDA 6686.
I was looking to buy the one with more RAM, but hesitated, because
1) Option A supports video output
2) Option A has integrated carplay
and that alone had me wonder whether – even with lower RAM, ROM, and set of cores – this unit was the better one in terms of being tried and tested.
Now if you say, I should definitely take option B, I can get a dongle on top for android auto. Yet I was wondering if it's necessary at all because the head unit supports screen mirroring?
