Any error messages while installing the GApps? The installer script generates a log file on /sdcard.

I already managed to solve it. It didn't give any errors, it installed everything normally so I couldn't understand what was going on.

Can't Install Magisk [Lineage 15.1] [ZE552KL]

I've installed the Magisk manager and can't quite get the Magisk file installed. TWRP gives an error, which I'll throw down here

Do I really have to reinstall a stock image? I don't want to lose all my installed data. I've reflashed the phone a billion times getting various things to work, and now that I'm on a stable ROM, I don't want to move over. I've heard this can be an issue with having SuperSU installed. I'm just trying to get certain apps to work, like Fire Emblem Heroes or Animal Crossing Pocket Camp.
I'm welcome to answer any questions anyone has, I just want it fixed.

Why did you flash older version of Magisk? Try flashing Magisk V16 or Magisk Beta V16.3.

That was from earlier. I have tried the newer version, it still gives the same error. I've also tried unrooting and it still does.

Try this method:
1) Flash Oreo RAW
Link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-3/development/updated-unlock-relock-bootloader-t3749456 (end of the main post)
2) Boot phone until homescreen
3) Flash TWRP 3.2.1 by @planet9 (make sure you flash the latest version of TWRP)
4) Flash Magisk Beta (v 16.3)
5) Reboot
P.S: Make sure you've backed up all of your important data before flashing
With "Please restore stock boot image" the Magisk installer just want's to tell you to reflash the currently installed ROM: Simply reflash the zip of your ROM (LineageOS), then flash Magisk. No data will be lost by doing that.
The word "stock" is quite misleading here as it doesn't refer to the asus rom.

I can't say what else would help sorry, those are the exact steps I followed and they worked.
Perhaps you could post in the Magisk part of the forums with some info about your device and see if someone could help.

This is a magisk issue and shouldn't be posted here
Sent from my LG-H910 using XDA Labs
I had the same problem till I went to twrp recovery and flashed the zip that magisk downloaded and it works great. Only problem left on the side is trying to get Xposed to work again through the new magisk on H918 Super Rom, it's not working ATM but I think it's fixable somehow I guess. Magisk is effecting all phones, not just V20 btw.
Check out the video about the API and safetynet by the YouTuber HighOnAndroid. That video let's u know what's up with magisk the day before new magisk update came.
Is it possible that someone backup and share with me boot partition, and from my side I recover it ?!
I'm running:
ROM: RR-0-v6.1.0-h990-Unofficial
Kernel: Gamma Kernel v26.0.0
Magisk: v17.1
Magisk Manager: v5.9.1
I'm not on stock, but i had no error or problems installing it.
Are you on stock or?
I was able to directly install Magisk 17.1 from Magisk itself without issues.

Have you tried another kernel?
Anyone could test sixaxis compatibility checker?
(free on store)
Only on h990ds. 910 and other never were affected by this problem with previous magisk.
Dont know if v17 solved this problem.
Thanks

Tried D.O.T.S and failed, bootloop
I am thinking if someone can backup the boot and share it with us. So we can recover it
Regards..
Has anyone found a way to make 17.1 work on the H990DS? It took me several flashes to get it to boot but after a couple restarts it started bootlooping again so I had to downgrade to 16 and 16 works just fine
Just stay on v16 until they can work the bugs out with v17 -- you aren't gaining anything by going to v17.

AFAIK aroma gapps do not play nicely with our klte version of TWRP.
Download one of the other arm-9.0 gapps packages and try again it should work fine.
I also have G900T and non aroma gapps work for me
Good luck :good:

Your Phone Is Locked Because The Payment Service Was Uninstalled

I've checked the .xml file and the lines which is described in the guides to fix this error does not exist, there is not kgagent.
I've installed a custom rom and opengapps, magisk, microg, supersu, all these flashed through twrp.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/phone-locked-payment-service-uninstalled-t4018177
SM-J530F D/S
Tartarus v.2 rom android 9.0
3.3 Twrp
Whilst waiting for help I'm going to try installing a samsung pay.apk through adb sideload. Going to try on different pc as here I get the closed error as I try to push or do adb usb, adb root or whatever.
As a side note I've noticed that I'm having issues with installing magisk, which seemingly requires to be reinstalled if installing multiple things like microg, patcher, which throws error about android pie not being supported, etc. It says that the boot image incompatible or something. Also had issue with supersu saying that the binaries are or occupied by something else whilst inside the os. Trying to copy files in file manager (twrp) throws error 1.
Edit: no success.

how to install magisk on lineageos 18.1?

Hello everyone
How to install magisk on lineageos 18.1?
I've downloaded/installed magisk.apk from official github website, but I cannot find clear steps about how to root the device, any help? thanks!
the device is sm-g900f
Download the magisk .apk to your phone and install it. Rename .apk to .zip and reboot to your recovery by holding volume up and home while powering on.
If using TWRP
Tap Install
Tap Install Zip to toggle the button
Select the magisk .zip file and flash
Reboot

Hi Boatshow,
great - worked for me with Magisk 23.0 perfectly - thank you so much!!! Installing first wasn't necessary so, I just downloaded to SD Card, renamed, installed with TWRP. Than I had to finish installing inside system, now all works well!
Hey guys!
New here and new to Android in general.
Instead of creating another thread and I will if its preferred, I wanted to ask how do I install Magisk without TWRP?
I'm on LineageOS 8.1 and my device is an OnePlus 8T.
The goal is to pass SafetyNet.

edit: possible human error.
Editx2: How crucial is it that I use this command to copy the patched image vs just dragging and dropping my phone to the pc?
Copy the patched image to your PC with ADB:adb pull /sdcard/Download/magisk_patched_[random_strings].img
My OnePlus 8T doesn't have an SD Card and I couldn't find the directory to run the command. Instead I dragged and dropped / copied from phone to PC - then flashed the patched boot.img.
After reboot my phone is stuck in the bootloader for LineageOS

You can install Magisk thru LineageOS Recovery Mode, just use adb sideload magisk.zip(rename magisk.apk into magisk.zip) after you've installed Magisk app on your phone.
